>best industrial rock album of all time

And I'm not even fucking joking.

good joke man, i laughed

it's not a joke, I sweat to this shit

hey it don't push it

How do you think Trent got in such good shape?

QOTSA are far better. Nothing gets me going for cardio quite like the end of A Song for the Dead

>yfw this is literally true

With Teeth is severely underrated. It's hard hitting fury, and Trent did not get enough credit for it.

I saw QotSA open for NIN. I loved the concert.

NIN was better though. QotSA brought 100% to the stage, NIN brought 9000%, it was insane.

This.

youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6A0B787D0DCA732A

honestly a 9/10 album easy

>h8rs gonna h8

go offline tront, you're dronk

kek not drunk Trent, just a slightly wine-o'd out lifelong fan

Hesitation Marks is another god tier selection, especially for cardio.

...

AND NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR

AND EVERYTHING I'D EVER WANT

IS INSIDE OF HERE

Features some of Trent's best vocals, just holy fuck. This shit must have been personal, it all comes out of the heart.

DON'T YOU FUCKING
KNOW
WHAT YOU AREEE?!!!!

DON'T YOU
FUCKING
KNOW WHAT YOU AAAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

DON'T YOU FUCKING KNOW WHAT YOUU AAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I always got the vibe that that song was Trent screaming at crazy fundamentalist Republican Christians that "hey, you're just a bunch of monkeys that evolved from worms, just like the rest of us. You're nothing special."

but it probably has something more specific and personal to it than that

Sunspots - best track

Besides you In Time into Right Where It Belongs is the best part

It's Trent screaming at himself, that is what the album is in its entirety. It's Trent critizing and inspecting himself, here Trent probably doubts himself highly that he could ever get out of the drugs, I think "You Know What You Are?" is the ultimate self loathing sound.

Here are some unusued lyrics for You Know What You Are. Which probably made it too obvious what was Trent screaming about

> Not one of them you belong with
>You're only fooling yourself
>Go on get back to where you belong
>You are not one of them
>You belong with us you're only fooling yourself
>Come back where you belong back

>To nowhere back to nothing
>Back to that lonely place inside your head
>Come back to where you belong
>You're so fucking stupid and pathetic
>What you're trying to do
>We will never let you go
>That was a lie you must have wanted to believe

>You didn't really believe that did you?
>Well it runs too deep it runs too deep my friend
>Better start to look at things through different eyes

>Don't you fucking know what you are?
>Go on get back get back get back to where you belong

Jesus, I love you Trent, but you're an instrumentalist first and a lyricist second.

At least he realized he needed to redo the lyrics.

I mean sometimes I really love his lyrics but not when they are that on the nose.

Close, the best part is actually The Line Begins to Blur into Beside You in Time

I'll rate my favorite tracks in order (I love all the tracks except Collector, it's, okay I guess)

Sunspots
Right Where It Belongs
The Line Begins to Blur
All the Love in the World
The Line Begins to Blur
Love Is Not Enough (remember Trent fucking owned this shit on stage live)
With Teeth
Only
Every Day Is Exactly The Same
You Know What You Are?
The Hand That Feeds
Getting Smaller
The Collector

Yeah, With_Teeth is full of unusued lyrics, probably the album with the most unused lyrics.

It's important to note where he was when he wrote With_Teeth, it shows, it is very direct and honest.

Additionally, here are some unsued lyrics for "All The Love In The World", on the noose again.

>Why am I always watching from the outside?
>On the other side of the glass
>Behind the glass.
>Always watching everyone,
>Separate, watching, always
>Don't touch.
>This is getting deeper
>As time goes by,
>The water's getting colder.
>Here I am surrounded by people but still all alone,
>I am always alone.
>Even with myself,
>Imprisoned in my head.
>And there doesn't seem to be any way out,
>And I am so fucking sick of here,
>Wish I was there.
>Right beside is still
>A million miles away.
>Behind these bars.
>In a rut.
>Anyplace else will do.

>Hello?

>Don't think so.
>Broadcasting,
>Only static coming in.
>No one can hear me when I'm here.

>This is getting deeper

With_Teeth does use lyrics which do reference The Fragile straightly though in Love Is Not Enough, referencing We're In This Together.

>Love Is Not Enough
>It never really had a chance
>We'd never really make it through

I gotta say, I relate to how Trent is feeling, this is fucking crazy, sometimes I feel so distant from the world even though there are people around me that I would describe EXACTLY how he does here, static.

I can see why he cut it though.

funny how the singles are on the second half, near the bottom

shows you the weakness of poppy, catchy songs, they generally lack a singularly artistic appeal to them that lasts longer than the radio-friendly fare

Trent is insane live. Best live show I've evr seen.

This is nothing new with NIN, the singles are almost always the weakest tracks of his albums

Except when it comes to THE PERFECT DRUG, THE PERFECT DRUG, THE PERFECT DRRUUUUUUUGG

wait, that was only released as a single, never mind

D E E P

That music video was awful, I know music videos do not change anything, but I have to mention this as someone who loves video editing.

The parts where Trent goes "DEEP DEEEP" and they digitally zoom into Trent's voice every time he says "deep" I laugh my fucking ass off.

Rong youtube.com/watch?v=5XwqZv9xds0

i'd agree with all of it but switch With Teeth's position with Every Day's

i think

I meant Trent's voice.

I MEANT FACE.

Jesus christ what is wrong with me today.

haven't heard this band before, but I like Misfits, so thanks, this is pretty cool

go to sleep

u wot m8?

also Home isn't on the original CD, i'd put home up above The Line Begins to Blur on my list if it was

also at least we agree about Collector since you didn't even list it

oops I also realize I listed The Line Begins to Blur twice on accident

the first "Line Begins to Blur was meant to be Beside You In Time, fyi

>also Home isn't on the original CD

It is on the vinyl though.

thoughts?

8/10 album. Good shit.

Sometimes this album gets really personal and it touches me deeply like in the track "With_Teeth"

>..I cannot go through this again

Trent sounds so sincere, I don't know what this is, it sounds calming and incredibly sad yet reassuring, I don't know why, it touches some part of me which I cannot put a finger on

Bought their album and then pre-ordered their newest album, digging it.

>>..I cannot go through this again

He's basically saying "I can't ruin my entire life again by starting to take drugs again"

I think the With Teeth track itself is the track most focused on sobriety

I put Love Is Not Enough on the bottom because I always found it kind of forgettable, nothing really stands out, every other song in some form is memorable.

hahahahahahaa

When I saw him live for the first time (out of 5 times now) he opened with that (of all songs) and it just blew me away... really left an impression.

The version on the album is nothing to write home about much imho though.

I JUST DON'T KNOW ANYMORE...

basically it went like this

wish there was a better res but there isn't

youtube.com/watch?v=vy1uNtwS6BE

That's from Hesitation Mark "In Two" isn't it?

DON'T GIVE A FUCK ANYMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE

YEAH
I DON'T
CAAAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>Yes, everyone seems to be asleep

>Balthazar Reznor
>Lazarus Echo Reznor

is this a joke?

Belsebub Reverb Reznor

Beside You in Time blu-ray, son!

Ringfinger was the best lyrically IMO

His newest work is getting better and better lyrics.

I really think Burning Bright (Field On Fire) has his best lyrics.

I used to jog to Year Zero

Crackity Jones on repeat

OP I bet you have like 2 muscles.

Your reddit spacing.

It's triggering me the fuck out.

Is The Hand That Feeds Trent's magnum opus

No.

god, this came out my freshman year in college, and I had been a huge NIN fan for a couple years. Got to see him at Coachella, which was my first concert EVER, first NIN show after like 6 years. What a time to be alive. Now i cant even listen to his new stuff fast enough, all sounds the same.

Good. It shouldn't matter. Also I've never used Reddit in my life. I just don't like the look of letters crowding above my words. They need to

B R E A T H
B R E A T H
B R E A T H

>BREAK THROUGH THE SURFACE AND

* B E A T H E *

* B E A T H E *

* B E A T H E *

That's funny because his albums sound different from one another that people complain they don't sound enough alike.

You just aren't listening if you think it sounds the same.

BREAK THROUGH THE SURFACE AND...

I AM FORGIVE
I AM FREE
I AM A FIELD
ON

FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
AAAAAAA

I AM FORGIVEN
I AM FREE
I. AM. A. FIELD. ON.

FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

No

I love confident badass tront

This is the only time where his confidence seems genuine and sinecere, in any othere "I HAVE THE POWER" song it is used as a means of desperation.

Here Trent means what he is screaming, makes for some of the most intense NIN in their discography, Burning Bright is fucking crazy.

>This is the only time

WHILE THE DEVIL

Thanks for reminding me OP, I mean it. I listened to this album a lot, many years ago when I was a complete wreck of a human being. I've gotten better, but especially ``Every Day Is Exactly The Same'' takes me back to those alcohol-fuelled days of existential pain.

Crusher's favorite.

WITHA TEETHAH

why not? best lyrics, best beat

THERE ARE THINGS THAT I SWEAR THAT I WOULD NEVER DO

THERE ARE FEARS THAT I CAN NOT BELIEVE HAVE COME TRUE

FOR MY SOUL IS TOO SICK AND TOO LITTLE TOO LATE

AND MYSELF I HAVE GROWN TOO WEARY TO HATE

The line begin to blur best song on the album.

yes everyone seems to be asleep.
