Played it

Remade The Warriors

...

...

Wasn't there also that one nickelodeon studio game.

>playing a game about movies
>not playing a movie about movies instead

like 8MM?

You can't play that you fucking dummy. Back to Sup Forums you go

comfy game. but having to deal with the actors' mental breakdowns was irritating desu

i begged my mum to buy it then it didnt work on my computer

played it. I loved doing car chases and other shit. Too bad you could not do dialogue or anything explicit

its not about movies, its a movie maker. you get a studio simulators and a lot of stock actions, positions, etc and you make movies.

True kino maker coming through

>saw this at Costco every time
>always wanted it, but afraid to ask my dad to buy it
>finally worked up the courage once
>he looked at it and just said "no"

i made a movie about a hitman wearing a chicken/duck suit

Remade Star Wars with it.

i spent so many hours in this shit

i had it, wanted to make a masterpiece but i dont remember getting past the tutorials

source filmmaker is where its at right now. tons of models to import and you can animate by just "puppeteering" the models

faggot

Who /Opening Night/ here?

The Password is : Blood

>you could not do dialogue
Nigga you could do dialogue with a microphone and the game would sync up the facial animations.

One of the best games i've ever played.

I was the only person in the world who liked the movie studio simulation part more than the movie making part.

>There will never be The Movies 2 because this one did mediocre, simulation games are niche now, and Lionhead is dead.

>Tfw no one has remade the plane scene with this game

Attention, an actor is needed in the casting office.

>lionhead is dead

this is a good thing. They fucked up every good idea they ever had through overly-compromised execution.

Also Microsoft turned them into Fable Machine.

No The Movies 2
No Black & White 3

>tfw scored mad money but never got any awards or good press
I am become Adam Sandler

>create actresses
>name them after porn stars and girls I went to school with
>get the breast enlargement surgery and put them in the skimpiest clothing possible
>always make movies with them doing suggestive shit

Those movies bombed, but at least I spanked it a few times. Fucking puberty man.

>when I finally figured out how to consistently get #1 movies with 5 star ratings
This game was hard as shit. I could always get my studio to be #1 in everything except for money owned.

The Bagger Boy

How'd you manage that? My movies always flopped no matter the effort I put in.

Get good actors who like each other and are in a good mood, with good writers and a good director and also make sure the genre is big at that time.

Pretty straightforward.

Pump out movies as quickly as you can while keeping an eye on what genres are popular (use the same crew for everything so they get good quickly). As soon as you unlock the custom script writing office, write the shortest possible screenplays at the maximum star rating you can get (IIRC in the top left corner you could see at what star rating your scripts were capped at that point and at what level your current screenplay was). Then start releasing those movies while giving your actors extensive training in whatever genre you picked for them. Give each actor 2-3 genres to be specialized in. If you do this properly for long enough you'll win an award, and as soon as you win an award you can win more awards, and the succes comes with the awards. Seriously, the awards are essential. So basically:
>look at what's popular
>get skilled crew and actors
>optimize your screenplays
>get awards

The Baggage Boy

A new rival studio has opened for business

You just posted my entire childhood.

this was comfy but at the same time sooo sloooooow
and fucking diva actors despite having shit stats

>2005
>childhood

That was eleven years ago user.
Now some others may consider themselves a man at age 12, but not me.

Fucking perfect. Any emulations?

Wait, fucked up my maths, I was eight.

>tfw I was playing it during breaks at my first internship
oh well

step aside, niggers

I had the cybermaster one
building robots n shit

>Shotgun Entertainment

That pic made your post. You should've named it "myparentswouldbeproud.jpg."

fuck yeah my dude. i might just install it again.

thats ok because you can pirate it now and play it.

a1 post there friendo

same famalam

What is the best set?

Just learn 3DS Max

>it's a /vr/ episode

Yes, making some models is all that goes into a video game.

That game was awesome. Post your homemade kinos bros

youtube.com/watch?v=17fFcVyyQGk

watched this garbage yesterday desu

>2005
>/vr/
Don't let them hear you

I used to wait until I unlocked the custom-script writing mode and then churn out epics that remade spaghetti westerns and gangster films that bombed commercially every time and drove my studio to near bankruptcy with their insane production budgets (they were 5-10 minutes realtime)
I refused to compromise my art in order to unlock the next progress status

I had fun at least

Shit I just realised that the editing program in the game would've been the first nle i ever used technically
Brb, I need to go look it up

Shit I had that one and virtual springfield

Any games like this? From the last few years?

I was really good at the Movies and my brother was shit, so I grew up having to show him how.

There are basically 3 main stages to get 5-star movies.

Stage 1, pick your niche. When you hire your initial actors and actresses, start making movies based on their strengths. If that's Westerns, then make Westerns. If that's Horror, make horror. At first your movies will be shit, but keep churning them out with your initial 2 or 3 actors.

Stage 2, reinvest that money into state of the art tech/sets. You need top of the line stuff to make money. At first, invest in sets for your strongest niche market. But, as you make more money, buy a couple state of the art sets for other genres.

Stage 3, quietly and slowly make other types of movies with lesser actors. They'll get experience and you'll make a little side cash. Try to time their smaller productions with the outside events that make certain genres popular at certain times. Get them a variety of experience so that they can step in for supporting roles while also carrying a low-budget film on their own. Take that side cash and follow stage two. By this time too, your big genre stars should be very strong in one or two types of film. As long as the sets are top notch, the actors are really good, and you've got supporting actors with general experience, you'll start making piles of money and winning awards.

I always wished they would make an expansion for more special effects. I liked the Stunts expansion. Actually, it'd be great if they just made an updated studio simulator. I loved running my own studio.

no I was not shit Harold

Thank you for this reminder.
Been playing the last few hours.

I recreated The EvilDead using this.

I also made some 50s inspired UFO movie about abductions, where a couple are abducted on makeout point, the town sheriff investigates and finds the landed spacecraft enters and a gun fight ensues. Think it ended with a final clip of the sheriff blowing up the UFO.

I miss the movies it was pure kino

Someone needs to make the scene with CIA and Bane using this software

I was talking about 3DS Max being the tool to make movies, not the tool to make The Movies 2.

I want a movie studio simulation sequel

a true visionary

>yfw Stunts & Effects

\I remade Taxi Driver

>he didn't put his music library into the Movies music folder and made videos for his favorite songs

CRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWLING

>50 Cent - Candy Shop
>wwii movie

>play it
>build sets
>film movie
>era is over by time movies are made
>lost money
>go bankrupt
>uninstall

Gangsters was better.

what are some other games/programs like this?

>Not playing a sandbox game in sandbox mode

So it's a bad game because you're awful at it?

>made WWII movie set to Linkin Park - In the End
>during the chorus it was nothing but soldiers getting shot, clutching their chest and falling to the ground dramatically
>only had a few actors so it's the same 2 guys dying over and over again
>mfw

>not fucking around the .ini file so you unlock everything and do whatever you want on sandbox

>made two actresses kiss each other in their underwear in the shower

>action movie begins production
>crew needs 2 years to walk to the set
>actors walk off in between scenes
>another six months go by until they return
>director throws a two month long hissy fit because he's stressed out
>put him in the bar so he can chill
>one minute later he's an alcoholic
>hold production and put him into rehab
>after five years they finally wrap it up
>one and half out of five stars
>reason: no one watches action movies anymore

This

Once I beat the game I just made full length features in sandbox and voiced them with friends. God I miss middle school.

They had so many games with interesting concepts that they cancelled so they could focus on fable. That game was such a nightmare that it caused a lot of lionhead/bullfrog game designers to quit the business for ever.

Same here.

kek

The random scripts churn out some weird shit.

NOM NOM NOM
TASTES LIKE BLACK

dling now, will be the first thing i do

Have you played the game before?

>all I did was give the women huge tits and make awful war films

good times

Nope

>messing around in game when I was really young
>didn't fully know what I was doing
>have a kissing scene in a movie
>I want to show my dad what I made
>he comes and stands over my shoulder and watches the move but at the same time the kissing scene was happening
>I messed up on casting or something and accidentally had two guys making out with each other
>dad looked at me with disgust and began to think I was a homo
we're not all going to make it

There is a lazy mode, so you can do whatever with the actors.
Althought I always had 3 staples

>Critique bitching about:
>Actors being used too often (good luck given how rarely they come by)
>The non acting crew apparently is ALWAYS shit
>My movies being crap, but they somehow made money
It was awful in a Hollywood way, I paid writers to churn out shit that I did not even check, the once in a blue moon I made my own movie and it bombed, just like real life directors.

You might take a little longer to make it then you'd think then.

>PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME
>MY BOARD
this is nu/tv/, folks

I remember back then making a movie where I basically did a Columbine, except with just 2 bullies (first scenes me getting bullied, then getting angry, entering school gun toting and making a mess of them).

Well now I am compelled to download it.

played the demo
it was complete trash
