Nah, but it makes cleaning way easier and it looks nicer.

Nope, and to be fair, doing a super tidy job and cable tying everything together just results in more fekkin work when u want to change something, but some Ppl are just super vane.

you think that cables might add to over heating

yes
for cooling and managing new parts.

Not for cooling.

- It's relatively easy to do with cable ties and some sort of "stickies" for them, forgot what they are called. Also I think most cases are designed for that and have room for cables behind the motherboard.
- looks very nice
- should give better airflow and cooling, but this one probably depends on many variables.

I have a non-modular PSU.
Had a case with no cable management, so it was a spiderweb inside.
Got a new case with cable management, no cables in pathway of airflow.
Better benchmarks.

My experience, agree or don't I'm out.

Anyway, the thread is pretty spot on. Cable management is important for office machines and top end gaming machines.

For the average Joe that has to replace parts every couple months because of budget it's counterproductive. The airflow is a thing, so you gotta make a little order into de whole thing but you don't really need ties to do that.

stop spreading autism it helps the air flow be more effective.

for all idiots who say it improves cooling

If you're showing it off, nope. Also as long as it doesnt effect stuff like hitting fans and obvious things.

Fuck you, dork!

This is now an IT porn thread.

...

On a desktop: not really.

On a server: absolutely.

Don't get your cables caught in any fans and blow your computer up.

...

Oh my god. It looks so good.

Not at all for cooling, just aesthetics and ease of access.

winrar

...

Not too much, no. Just astethics and sometimes collects dust if it's int he way of airflow. Blocks airflow a very small amount.

Yes and No

It makes your system look better, but when it comes to functionality and heat management keeping your system clean and non-dusty is way more important than cable management.

With that being said messy wires provides more surfaces for dust to stick to and can make it harder to clean

also makes it easier to get in and replace or fix something. nothing worse than spending 10minutes unplugging and untangling cables just to put a new HDD or more ram in.

It depends.

Ah, the great days before retard-proof heatspreaders.

...

If you're gonna do it , why do it halfway ? just take your time and do it well the first time.

It only matters if you have a fan where it's possible your current wire placement could move into the path of a fan and cut the wire. My friend had an open blade CPU cooler and accidentally had it cut its own wire.

That's sexy.

that a light bulb?

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

autistic screeching is not gonna save you

Just stop. If you ever post here again, I will fuckin’ choke slam you into a coffee table, with any luck it will be one of those old school antique coffee tables that was made out of the really good wood from deep in the fucking forest and not that Ikea bitch that explodes like a fucking stunt table. I will put you right through it, and pull you up by your god damn larynx and then right through the dry wall, my hand would be disappearing into the wall like I just fisted a fucking horse. Then I’d pull you out, you’d have plaster all over your fucking hair, you’d be deprived of 3 quarters of your oxygen, and you’d start to cry. Then I’d just whisper into your ear, really calmly, like one of those bad guys in one of those great 80’s movies with Mel Gibson, or fucking Stallone or whatever, where once the goons would get him tied up and the head bad guy that’s running bitch would come in all relaxed with his dress shoes and suit and would just come up and put his face like parallel to the other dude’s face and just come in and whisper in the guy’s ear nice and calmly. That’s what I’d do to you, as you’re struggling to breath, I’d put my head right next to your ear and just be like “If you ever post in this section again, I will fucking kill you. You understand me? The only reason you’re not dead right now is because I haven’t figured out how to get away with it yet. If you even come in this section again, I swear to god, I will grab you by your fucking baby fat and the top of your fucking head and I will throw you upside down through a bay window” As you sit out there in the rain, picking the glass and the wood shards out of your body, I’m gonna take a tray of hot macaroni and throw it right on your fucking face. That’s what I’ll do if you ever post here again.

wait, did this dude put thermal paste on the CPU pins?

>triggered

Ah, the ancient ruins of the Acropolis of Athens

thats kinda cool actually

Probably put it on the socket before inserting the CPU.

not so uncommen a mistake, sadly...
what the fuck did you just fucking say to mebla bla navy seal bla bla bla gorilla warfare bla bla dead kiddo.

I have legit cleaned a computer before and the brown dust smelled of burritos and other mexican fare.

>vane

This looked like one of our closets before I started. Took me about 6 months to redo everything. nights/weekends here and there. The outcome has been nothing short of rewarding.

What in the actual fuck

You took this too far

The fuck is in that mouse

this reminds me of that scene in Event Horizon when Dr. Weir performs vivisection and leaves the giblets hanging from wires

Looking to replace my Haswell

the i5-7500 with a MSI GTX 1060 ARMOR 3G seems like a good starting point for a mid tier build

lol intake fans sucking in wax vapor which then condenses inside the case

Only for compact setups everything else is just autism.

I have pic related, The side for the gpu etc is clean but i have all the cables stuffed into the back (and organized as best as i could), but there's just so many cables it's hard to manage them all, it does help with airflow

iirc thats a lan box user

Yeah right for the whole minute the picture was taken!

We should all aspire to be more like Cpt. Vane.

It's just a microatx case

>banana man
kys

Vane?

Dirt.

its still a lan box to me regardless of the brand

Microatx isnt the brand name, it's just a smaller cube case, Could be considered a 'lan box' i guess, still has enough room for a 1080ti and whatever else you'd desire
