I don't think I've ever seen a movie where Ken Watanabe doesn't shine, even in Godzilla he brings a lot of character. Letters From Iwo Jima was probably his best role I've seen.
On top of that, the guy has beaten cancer twice now, first leukemia and now stomach, is there anything that can kill this man?

Sanada Hiroyuki is usually the best thing in whatever he's in. Admittedly he's not up against heavy-weight contenders in Helix or The Last Ship but he is always pretty good.
Benedict Wong is fucking incredible as Kublai Khan in Marco Polo. A lot of the Asian actors in that are great, but Wong carries the show.
D.B. (B.D.? I forget) Wong is good in Gotham as Hugo Strange. Everyone else in Arkham is "OH SHIT NIGGA WHAT R U DOIN" and he's all "Haha, yes. I will convince people they are mythological beings, this is my best idea ever!"

The thing about Ken Watanabe is it seems like he's Hollywood's go-to-guy for any movie that has anything to do with Japan. So far, all the movies I've seen that has any connection with Japan, he was in it. Inception, Last Samurai, Iwo Jima.
