this is pretty legitimate

Is that a girl or a boy on the cover?

>tfw was a young metalhead for a few years
>dump it completely and listen to several pop, electronic, jazz genres and classical
>come back to come favorites from my childhood
>it's even better
>tfw massive diverse library I'm in love with it

Feels fucking good. Pic related.

Assuming gender much wtf

Is hard rock just the yacht rock of metal?

Seeing sabaton live tonight, what should I expect?

ENTER THE GATES
AUSCHWITZ AWAITS

mostly memes

OVER THE WORLD

Why do you guys think the average person hates extreme forms of metal (death, black, etc.)?

"sounds like noise lmao"

>That Makita angle grinder

As someone who rarely comes to metal i'll expose myself and say that it ultimately comes across as just too depressing to listen for extended periods.

and this to confirm the meme

This is one of those albums that sounds better every single time I listen to it. Absolute masterpiece.

Why even listen to anything but this album?

Because pop structured music literally dulls your mind. Same reason why "classical is boring". They can't focus on more than one note at a time let alone very fast tempos.

because Sadus exists

Hypothesis: If Sadus albums had louder production, they would be a more lauded band.

The average person has a short attention span. Most people don't like anything other than mainstream pop/buttrock/EDM/hip-hop. Give an average Joe a post-bop/black metal/impressionist piece/conscious hip-hop song and they'll be absolutely confused.

just crank it up til your ears bleed
distortion til deafness amirite

This is good, I've listened to it twice in the last few days.

Why don't people praise this album like Reign In Blood? I honestly think this and Hell Awaits are so much better.

they are, it's the same with RTL

mostly shit taste, and because of le rainugn blodu and angle of deaf xdxdxd
seriously, even a half-assed song like The Final Command is better than half the album

*deletes Vol. 4*
Now their first five albums are great.

Thank you, is RIB just popular because of the two tracks?

Name a song better than A fine day to die

You've got to be joking, Vol 4 is the shit mang

Literally any song featuring Björn "Speed" Strid

of courshe

Blood Fire Death

The entire album is great

I would say so. The rest of the album just sounds like monotonous filler to me. Only one I can think of that other people talk about is Piece By Piece, and that one just sucks because of how basic and short it is. Reign In Blood is a successful album full of covers with two songs that properly open and close the album. Plus that, those two songs are the title track and first song on the album, so of course people will listen to those first and (generally) judge an entire album based on those alone.

tl;dr Yes.

>covers
God damnit, I meant fillers.

Because of harsh vocals

eh, my mom loves khemmis and they have harsh vocals

D O O M

Too fast, too loud, not simplistic like the buttmetal polluting the radio waves.

>mfw I was called a hipster for disliking Nickelback

anime

>monotonous filler
did we listen to the same album? reign in blood is literally riff after riff. yes the songs are formulaic but nobody seems to have a problem with that when they're listening to violent restitution or power and pain. and yes the songs are short but nobody has a problem with that when they're listening to strappado. so i'm guessing it's cool to shit on reign in blood because it's a popular album. also why is the fact that the album is structured well something to be derided? starting and ending with the strongest two tracks isn't a bad thing

and "filler" is a completely empty word, music reviewers like to use it when they don't know how to properly articulate what they didn't like about something. how could a 29 minute album contain any less "filler"? i would say that's the reason the album is so well liked, on top of angel of death and raining blood. they cut all of the fat and they were one of the first thrash bands to do that

dude pinch harmonics lmao

harsh sounds, sensory overload

>conscious hip-hop

how do they look so nice when theyre so old?

What does Sup Forums think of this album? Its not as good as some of dios older black Sabbath stuff, but it has some nice riffs. Here's my favorite song from it youtu.be/XSFeegL0Bzk

Going to be seeing these guys with Vale of Pnath. How good are they?

They're from Quebec, so you can probably put 2 and 2 together. Their writing is heavily influenced by romantic/classical period writing.

Shit's fucking good.

kek

Why is Ihsahn so based?

Why is there so much misogyny in brutal death metal and deathcore? Bands like Whitechapel and Waking the Cadaver are littered with lyrics about killing women and specifically use words like bitch, whore and cunt like every other line

Obviously most metal is violent talks about killing and hatred, but these bands seem to specifically target women exclusively...why?

Leave the hall

Leave the hall

fucking slavs lel

I prefer smooth jazz beatnik Ihshan desu

>Obviously most metal is violent talks about killing and hatred
