Stopped beung into cartoons awhile ago, and can only be intrigued by a few animes(havent even finished them tho cause anime is meh). Why is it that this show is hype af? Like, why is it good? Is it the humor? Story telling? Are you supposed to watch this shit loaded? Tell me.

I'm reply to anonymous, it's everything. The plot, the animation, the jokes, the idea, the story. The only thing that irks me are the characters. But there also great. Its really the sci go aspect and the creativity that are it's best features. I would extremely recommend it. And it's only 2 seasons

Eh, i'll give it a try, but only a few animations have been able tk keeo my attention, and even then i still need to finish them (One of them being Attack on Titan, just really love the art style and the concepts. And im aware AoT is completely different, im just listing the only animation that comes to mind.

What I like about the show is that it's both smart and stupid at the same time. It'd be hard to convey the feel of the show out of context, so I highly recommend watching season 1 episode 1. It gets right into what makes the show great from the getgo.

i enjoyed it overall, but i really don't like how much of a mary sue rick is starting to become.

i think this show's weakness (and also, strength) has always been how random it is and off the wall. though this works really well from a comedic perspective, the more they try to create a coherent storyline, the more it falls apart.

originally, it was just rick and morty fucking around. then, a couple little grains of story were introduced. then, all out of nowhere, tammy, some random character from the past, was a super secret villain, with no hints or logical reason why. it came across has "lol what if we made that random tammy character evil" rather than actual good storytelling.

that's how i feel about this episode - i was entertained by it the whole time and had fun and laughed, but the story was "lol what if rick just planned it the whole time?" rather than an actual logical good story-telling decision.

also, the ending was dumb as fuck for the same reasons. "lol what if bird person is back but he's evil now"

Someone PLEASE figure out wtf Rick is saying about 911 during the "In between where you were during September 11th and your favorite sports blooper" I can't believe they would actually give Rick some sentimental moment and so I'm really expecting something hilarious but I can't quite hear what he's saying.

They went over the top for the season premiere. I don't think the rest of the episodes will be as good.

Now they're just going to have to pick random shit for each episode. WHICH ISN'T BAD but won't be as action packed as the first ep.
