Some mates and I are thinking about going to Cambodia.
Anyone have any experience with it? What is there to do? How are the girls?

Learn to respect local customs and don't be one of those idiot tourist who is expecting to go to a poorer country to exploit natives that's how a lot of foreigners get killed or by buying pure heroin which from their countries they're used to a watered down amount and OD.
Now on to a more nicer side, if you're nice and respectful everyone will cheer and get along that is ensured.
Khmers love interacting positively with respectful tourists to Cambodia.
Regarding girls, prostitutes or non, you'll find a wide variety of asian girls in Cambodia, from local to the surrounding regions as well as tourist girls.
I have a thing for rural village/ country girls, and I've heard the ones in south america are walking STD factories with strange disease from being fucked by fathers etc at age 9.
Is it like that in cambodia too, or are the village girls pretty safe?
There's alot to do and cheaply too if you ensure you don't flaunt your money.
The country is full of amazing rich history, from the amazing Angkorean empire ruins to event more recent history regarding the genocide.
A lot of fun experiences to be had exploring the culture, cuisine, the silk, even amazing modern temples.
Along the coast there's alot of fun water activities that can be had in a place sunny all year around except in monsoon season.
There has been a rather sad history of child exploitation in Cambodia by foreigners.
Regarding STDs I'd say the prostitutes are the ones that you need to strongly watch out for cause that is an issue, if you're interested in village/country girls you would certainly especially being possibly white be able to hook up with a non prostitute girl who'll absolutely love you and be very innocent though most likely safe unless you fall victim to a girl who hunts foreigners for their money and you can't see she's a prostitute.
If you even thought about doing some English teaching or some form of activity that'll part you from the tourists and integrate you more deeply with locals and you'll significantly boost your chances of hooking up.
I'm not interested in doing child exploitation obviously, I'm more worried about running into someone exploited into a bad case of an incurable STD.
I'll keep my eyes open and look out for good girls like I do here.
I'll keep that in mind. Sadly I really don't have the ability to quit my current job and live in cambodia for a year to integrate with the locals... damn that sounds a hell of a lot more fun than an office job though.
Don't step on any landmines.
Kek not even locals can always achieve this.
>Cambodia
why? and where are you from?
never heard of Cambodia as a vacation destination. maybe thats just because im in the US.
Canada. Friend went a few years ago and said he had a good time.
I'm looking for something a little different.
He was a bit of a pedo though so maybe he enjoyed it for other reasons lol.
Hopefully not too many of those in the touristy areas.
I'd say exploring more local places as opposed to sticking to foreigner/expat areas would greatly increase your chances of not meeting STD factories and or HIV bombs.
Do you know if there is foreigner kidnapping going on there?
I assume I can't bring my gun from Canada there.
This might be of help to you:
m.youtube.com
Expect this.
Oh the US used to vacation like vacationing there in the early seventies
It is an awesome place to go on vacation, especially if you're looking for something rather unique and different.
in Cambodia open and conceal carry are illegal, so i would't bring a gun.
Know some fun things to do there that are unique?
Yeah I thought that would be the case.
There are many cases of foreigner kidnapping and deaths ruled as suicides, one of the number one rules to preventing this is to be very discrete about your wealth or what you do (Ie. Wealthy job).
Get in touch with the local expat community to find out safe places off the grid from more touristy areas / get introduced to khmers who are able to help you safely explore.
I don't know anything really on foreign gun laws but I can assure you that you can acquire a weapon easily there and even in the country side go to places where you can use old army weaponry like RPGs and Anti aircraft guns on old cars/cows/bikes.
It's very amusing to watch the tourist fags in Amsterdam crawling out of the coffee-shops after having their first pre-rolled joint.
Now mixed Weed and Opium will push this to a whole new level I guess
Fun things to do that are unique would be mentioned here.
Going out to the country side to the military gun ranges using a multitude of range of weapons for a cheap compared to any other countries.
Also going to explore the wildlife there in the zoos and on safari.
Using military weapons sounds kind of fun actually. I'll add it to the list.
Maybe the travel board knows some more too, but they seemed to be mostly sex tourists last I checked (not that sex wouldn't be fun).
Gotta be careful of those suicides.
Any other questions ?
Any must see tourist spots?
This is very vague right now and I'm planning with a few friends.
Mostly worried about our autistic friend getting roped into some scam or ending up with a 9 year old.
age of consent in Cambodia is 15.
I mean him getting tricked at a brothel or something.
Are there any scams to watch out for there I can at least try to warn him about?
In Phnom Penh the capital, I'd recommend checking out the russian market. the riverfront for all it's beauty and restaurants.
Phnom Tamao, a wild life rescue place where you can even go into enclosures with alot of animals.
Get a boat along the mekong and check out the many river fairing communities in english referred to as sea gypsies.
So many places to recommend and experiences to have, it's rather hard to make an exact list.
How is the level of english of the people there?
The level of English fluctuates greatly depending on where you are and how far you are from more densely populated/tourist areas, there should almost always be someone with good enough english for basic bartering and possibly directions.
Though you'll find plenty of english speaking khmers.
I'd also recommend dipping into some basics of the khmer as it's relatively easy and not to hard for basic statements and locals should be able to decipher what you're trying to say with as little knowledge you know.

Most of the child raping in Cambodia is done by Cambodians.
Neat man.
Thanks a lot.
Any scams to watch out for?
I thought it was the white devil.
A scam common everywhere, language barrier ones. I'd recommend you learn the simple numbers 1-9 and you should be able to ensure you're not like charged x10 the price for food or for some items.
Ask expats around regarding prices for certain things like transport to ensure you know you're paying the right prices for travel.
Also buy boxes of cigarettes for dealing with the police, they tend to stop people and demand fines with foreigners and cigarette boxes are easy ways to bypass this.
Be careful not to be led into any honeypot situations like how you described your austic friend being caught in a brothel with someone underage, but in regards to illegal contraband.
Stayed there for a month and whent to koh rong, siem reap and a bunch of other places. It's a shit hole! The locals (kmher people) are fucking thick cunts but there is small minority who are okay. I don't regret going but I wouldn't go back.
1. Firing their machine guns is not cheap, it is actually expensive- upto $50 per clip- depending on the gun. The guns are not maintained, very old and regularly jam.
2. Be careful in bars, I had my drink spiked by a prostitute who wouldn't leave us alone with god knows what. Lucky I was with my friends and they CARRIED me to a tuk tuk and took me home.
3. If you buy drugs, what they sell as cocaine is heroin.
4.
Food is awesome, countryside is amazing, add quad biking on to your to do list.
>what they sell as cocaine is heroin.
somehow i doubt that. especially since opiates are leagle in cambodia.
Whatever fag. Google it.
do you faggots even read the board names?
Friends of ours moved there and started a diving centre, Octopus Garden i think its called, been a while..:-)

Come to Cambodia we are warm and friendly people with very fresh fertilized fields ripe for crop growing for farming.
