Also, don't say Pulp or Suede or some other Britpop band, that's a fucking cop-out and you know it

They were both shit. British indie culture was effectively destroyed for two meme bands that only happened because the NME were terrified of black people.

Oasis wrote larger-than-life songs which captured the hopes and dreams of the British(and to a large degree European in general)working class better than just about anybody that comes to mind right now. For the first two albums + the accompanying singles/B-sides, at least.
For a bunch of Manchester hooligans, the band(and especially the Gallaghers) were capable of showing incredible amounts of empathy and humanity in their tunes.

They were also unarguably the best live band on the planet for a good while there.

Blur just wrote effete and obnoxious pop ditties.

blur because the lead singer's in gorillaz

why are we still doing this dumb shit. Is corporate brainwashing is really so fucking powerful that it can seep through 20 years of history

>Also, don't say Pulp or Suede or some other Britpop band, that's a fucking cop-out and you know it

It's not a cop-out, it's a way of saying the Britpop wars were a load of reductive, music mag pushed shit that even the bands themselves are sick of.

Besides, neither have written anything as good as "Common People".

>Blur or Oasis

Oasis

>Pulp or Suede

Suede

Coincidentally, both of those bands also happen to be two of the finest B-side bands of the 90s.

Who was in the wrong here?

Jsut banter m8

This always was and still is a stupid argument because the two aren't really that comparable. That said, the answer is Blur.

But they made Michael Hutchence kill himself.

Aussiecunts can dish out the banter but can't handle it themselves

The first two oasis albums are fucking great

im sorry but blur is just fucking horseshit for faggy nu male white kids

Mike got his revenge though. The backing vocals here are actually saying AAAAAHHHH BETTER THAN OASIS
youtube.com/watch?v=aYTSkPi6v8w

blur at least had an ounce of originality

Just as the Kinks were immensely superior to the Beatles so Blur are by a wide margin better than Oasis.

nice copypasta
got anything to add that came from your own brain, or are you (and all oasis fags) just a sheep

Top joke m8. Both bands wrote pop ditties but Albarn was a far better songwriter than either of the Gallaghers, also there's far more experimentation in Blur's later career than Oasis ever attempted.

>b-but muh working class representation
Already done better by many of the early British invasion bands (which Oasis were essentially a pale imitation of) and the entire genre of punk.

>Common People
Mediocre ripoff off "Blue and Black" by Mercury Rev. Coffee & TV is far superior.

I can't even find the words to reply to this
