Because the rice plant is not indigenous to Europe. Instead, our staples were/are wheat & rye - hence bread being our staple food.

My problem is that you have to eat so much of it to get a decent amount of calories, and it gets super boring to eat after a while.
I occasionally make a giant bowl of rice and sit there eating it for 20 minutes but I really prefer pastas or potatoes or corns for my carbohydrates.
Rice + Beans + Cream = God tier food

Risotto is a way of coocking rice that can't be found outside Italy I think.
I eat it every day.
But I'm from São Paulo, so I'm probably asian by proxy desu
