SCANDAL

Can we talk about these girls?

I've been listening to them for years now, and I've always liked their music. I've never been a superhuge fan, but I've always enjoyed some of their tracks and their general vibe.

I read up on them recently, and idk man, mad respect for these girls. Just realized they're the same age as me more or less, and that they began playing when they were in HS, and slowly, over time, they just made it. They started off under an indie label, just doing their own thing. So it just strikes me as a group of girls who were all friends, and decided to get together and make good music, and that's all they did till they got famous. They write their own songs and everything too. So it's not like other big Japanese hits like Babymetal or whatever, where they were conceived as a product to be sold right from the getgo.

Just felt they deserved their own thread.

one of them has the voice of a 11 yr old girl, goat group btw , Japan has the best pop bands

Yeah, but the lead singer makes up for it with her deeper much sexier voice.

They deserve more attention desu

Favorite songs?

>the voice of a 11 yr old girl
that's not a positive

they deserve more attention because they made their own band and got big?

or because they're girls?

>or because they're girls?
japanese girls, to be specific

Both?

They're cute, and seem chill as fuck. Would hang with/10

>Would hang with/10
we all know that all you wanna do is stick their dick in them

why do asian pop fans pretend that they like the music when they obviously spend more time trying to look at the girls' asses in live performances than anything else

but there is nothing special about what they did

Hell, Perfume started the same way, and they are manufactured.

I'm actually a huge fan of j-pop and j-rock to a lesser extent but don't really care about the artists but op is a faggot and exactly the stereotype you describe.

SCANDAL are alright but there's a lot of other all female j-rock groups that I'd put ahead of them, they're kind of a safe option. Not that they're bad or anything, just nothing I've heard from them seems spectacular.

They seem pretty generic from what I heard. I tried getting into them but it's just boring.

>we all know that all you wanna do is stick their dick in them
Yeah, but we all know that will NEVER happen.

Yeah, their looks factor in, but with SCANDAL it's a bit different. With Apink, the girls are hot, but I can't stand their music. I actually enjoy a lot of SCANDAL'S songs.

Nah, they started off as indie and they write their own songs. Read up on them.

Perfume was started by the girls themselves at Actor's School Hiroshima when they were like 10. They got noticed by the agency they are signed to to this day and were slumming it for years until they finally had a breakout hit. They were on the edge of being dropped from the agency at the time too. There is nothing special about them making the music(especially when it's as generic as they are). Even the two younger girls in Babymetal having writing credits on the first album and they were like 12/13.

when's watching porn instead

They also make good music

They're pretty bland as far as J-music goes.

Yeah, but BabyMetal was MADE, the girls never even heard of Metal before they were signed on. Same for the other girls, they were scouted out and signed on.

The SCANDAL girls are more self made, they had not formal education, they began playing right out of High School, Haruna had just graduated, and the rest were still in school when they started out. The played in some lot in a building in Osaka and did local concerts, eventually they signed onto an indie label, as the "schoolgirl rock band" and got enough notoriety that one of their singles was featured in Bleach as an intro, which propelled their popularity.

Then, after some years they signed onto a more mainstream label. But still, they started out from nothing, and took a gamble on things purely out of passion for music, and eventually made it. I know that's more common than I'm making it sound, but it is quite rare for Japan. Not many people forego Uni in hopes of making as a musician. And they are one of the few Asian all girl bands to get many firsts, like a big shot concert in HK, etc...

Idk, I just kinda connect with that, and am in a way kinda proud of them for it? Especially since again, they made themselves, not like BabyMetal where someone else signed them onto the whole deal, wrote their songs, and made them into something. Those people just got lucky. The SCANDAL girls also had a lot of luck, but they also took risks, and had to sacrifice a lot to get to where they are, and I respect that. You don't often see that level of passion or dedication for something among women.

That's why I personally find them not appealing, but attractive. It's like hey, here's a bunch of cool gals who just wanted to make cool music, and they made it big.

I like them. They're a nice blend of 2000s indie rock and J-pop.

Shunkan Sentimental is a great song.

Seriously not a big deal. Off the top of my head Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki did the same thing and they are HUGE in Japan. Scandal is nothing compared to them. As far a rock bands, Band-maid and they sound way better. Also Tricot, Bridear, Shonen Knife...

Who cares if they were made? They worked to get where they are, including even getting into Babymetal. They are performers as only one part of a wider project and they have some say-so, you are comparing apples to oranges.

>Same for the other girls, they were scouted out and signed on.
What does that even mean? They created their own group and got signed, just like Scandal. They played in parking lots to barely anyone for years too. Scandal is on a major label now, lol at you if you think there isn't a lot of manufacturing going on with them now.

In short, you're waifufagging.

Not really, I just connect to this a lot as an artist personally. I'm also starting off from nothing, taking a lot of risks, and seeing them get to where they are now given how they began is inspiring. I guess it resonates with me since I liked them way back when since Shoujo S, which was like what... 8 years ago now?

Yeah, I think they're all hot, and I like Japanese girls, but lets be honest, even if I do get famous myself, my chances with these girls are ZERO. Even if I learn Japanese and all that, and somehow overcome the cultural barrier and foreigner stigma, by the time I've made it, they'll all be well into their 30s, which is far beyond the age range of girls I like to date.

I just think its kinda cool that the grungy garage all girl band got somewhere man. Especially since its a band whose music I genuinely like, and in a way, spend a good 8ish years listening to.

Yeah, I like other stuff to, but given their image and vibe, I do feel SCANDAL deserves a bit of love, given they're typically unrecognized for what they've accomplished. They did what they love and they made it, any artist would connect with something like that, and I do wish more girls had that level of drive. Not many do desu. Plus, they girls all seem genuinely cool, like the kinda girl you would just wanna hang out with. Unlike all the glamorous K-pop girls, who yeah, are FAR more attractive than this lot, but just don't really seem to have that edge.

Also, there's work when you've got a company backing you up at the start, and work, when there's uncertainty on if you're wasting your time doing this or not. The latter is far more difficult. I think that counts for something.

I'm just saying, I read up on them recently, and was like "hey that's pretty cool." As I expected them to be manufactured like the majority of other musical groups that Japan puts out, and felt they deserved a bit of love for that, as you don't see that very often.

I only know and like one of the earliest song when I tried to get into them many years ago lol It was Koi no Kajitsu. Pretty good desu
I said I "tried": big discographies scare me, that's why I only remember listening to an EP.

They are a pending artist

That's cool and all if you feel that way but don't act like it's anything unique or take shots at other groups who have been totally honest to people about their origins. It's lame to discredit others as having less drive when they still have to put in plenty of work and have much more pressure on them and are also self-made for the fact they got picked based on their talent/skill over everyone else by putting themselves out there.

And once again, there are plenty of examples like Scandal.

Shunkan Sentimental
Shoujo S
Kagen no Tsuki
Doll
Scandal Baby
Anata wa Mawaru
Departure
Awanaitsumorino Genkidene
Image
and Stamp

Are all solid tracks. They're what I most often find myself listening to.

Well, let me be honest. I LIKE Babymetal. I like their music and image a lot, but right from the moment I listened to them, I could tell they were manufactured. When I discovered Scandal was self made from the start, idk, it just made me respect the girls a lot. I think it's super cool they did that, and I hope more people are inspired to the same.

>they're girls and they made a band
>THEY MUST BE GOOD
This is your whole post you're literally the worst person to talk to

Not really.

All I'm saying is personal drive and risk taking are qualities I find very attractive in women, and traits that are very uncommon in most PEOPLE in general. And that these girls deserve some love for having that.

Babymetal are manufactured but the difference with them is that they're still real.

Personally, I think being 13-15 playing to crowds in the tens of thousands, even in the West at metal festivals in what they knew was hostile territory is much more impressive than what they've done.

I think everyone thinks that is cool but most of music is like that so I don't see why they deserve more love based on that. I think you are mistaken with how manufactured the Japanese music industry is. Plenty of it is "self-made". The idol industry is a separate entity.
