I'm a pleb who only likes Jesus Lizard and Shellac-type "noise rock" at the moment. What's the next logical step?

Didn't do anything for me.

Unsane, U.S. Maple, Distorted Pony, KARP and Kittens.

their self-titled might be more up your alley. surprised that album didn't do anything for you since i've always thought it was a more chaotic jesus lizard. have you already check out steve albini's other projects?

...

I already like Long Hair in Three Stages. I'll be sure to check out the other bands.

I did appreciate the Yow-esque vocals, but aside from that I didn't click with the instrumentation. Yeah, I've explored a lot of Albini's bands and the bands he's recorded already.

If you liked Long Hair in Three Stages, maybe you'll enjoy Yowie's Cryptooology (a bit mathy tho) and Scratch Acid's The Greatest Gift.

Hella, Lightning Bolt, Big Black, Melt-Banana (though they are hc punk still pretty noisy), Coachwhips (Bangers VS Fuckers is the shit).
Idk if these are the next logical step, but I like them.

its good
to be honest, everything that is released on skin graft is pretty good

>and Scratch Acid's The Greatest Gift.
