just listen to laurel halo - quarantine on an infinite loop like me

>untrue
>good
boring

>electronic music
yeah jump off a bridge you dumb cunt

Nah you're good you've covered all the bases

So there's no essential electronic albums? Just Untrue and SAW 85?
Why?

...

personally speaking, try out Flying Lotus - Los angeles, Teebs - ardour, and other brainfeeder stuff.

This, and check out Born in the Echoes by The Chemical Brothers.

...

Kindred is better than Untrue and that is a fact.

Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children
James Blake - s/t
Autechre - Tri Repetae
LFO - Frequencies
The Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
The Knife - Silent Shout

Also, just as a rule, any genre as large and diverse as 'electronic' will have more than 2-3 worthwhile releases.

best æ is amber

Nah I'm fucking with you pal

Try like

Aphex Twin - Richard D James Album
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Flying Lotus - Los Angeles

It's kinda hard to have like a general electronic list since that covers a lot of ground. And electronic music isn't always so album oriented, a lot of it is singles and other assorted material.

Checking out a lot of the stuff on like Warp or Hyderdub for starters is a good place to explore. Warp especially has a pretty historic record of good music, most of it somewhere in the family of electronic music.

The Orb - Orbus Terrarum is a great album

DJ Shadow – Endtroducing...
The Avalanches – Since I Left You
Autechre – Tri Repetae
Daft Punk – Discovery
The Beastie Boys – Paul's Boutique
New Order – Substance
Flying Lotus – Cosmogramma
Squarepusher – Hard Normal Daddy
Sweet Trip – Velocity : Design : Comfort
Paul McCartney – McCartney II
Oval – 94diskont
Aphex Twin – Selected Ambient Works II
William Basinski – The Disintegration Loops
Portishead – Dummy
Boards of Canada – Music Has the Right to Children
Air – Pop
Oneohtrix Point Never – R Plus Seven
Radiohead – Kid A

Like, a solid half of this I wouldn't call electronic music at all

Maybe music with electronic elements but like, Paul's Boutique? Nah. I wouldn't even call Kid A an electronic music record.

I know Sup Forums thinks flume is mediocre but I fucking loved this AND skin

www.pitchfork.com

They are important to the integration of electronic music into other genres
Paul's Boutique is the best plunderphonics album ever released and missing out on it would be a travesty for those trying to listen to the best electronic albums
That's Jamie xx

The Kosmik Kommando - Analogue Android
Polygon Window - Surfing on Sine Waves
LFO - Sheath
Chimera - Valley of the Spirits

I mean I suppose, but that's more proto-electronic than anything and if someone was asking for an introduction I would probably just give them some actual electronic music rather than beating around the bush so to speak

Plunderphonics =/= electronic

Sampling is more integral to hip-hop than it is to electronic music. Neither Paul's Botique or ...Endtroducing are 'electronic' records and the only reason SILY is considered an electronic album is because it's constructed like a dance mix.

Four Tet - There Is Love in You
Free The Robots - Ctrl Alt Delete
Actress - Splazsh
Shigeto - Lineage
Mono/Poly - Paramatma
Loscil - Plume
Archy Marshall - A New Place 2 Drown
Shlohmo - Bad Vibes

the guys saying Flying Lotus/Brainfeeder are right. SAW 2 > SAW 1 imho

>command+f "coil"
>no results
well the summerfags are here

Let me also throw a little love out there for

Sepalcure - self-titled
Machinedrum - Room(s)
Lone - Galaxy Garden

i liked time machines, where to go next?

not op btw

Aphex Twin's entire discography

Autechre - Exai (one of the coldest and yet most emotional albums. Imagine if machines could fall in love)

Jon Hopkins - Immunity

Gas - Pop (Ambient master piece. More textures than music but in the best way possible)

Biosphere - Microgravity (This is Biospheres equivalent to SAW85-92, you will love this)

Biosphere - Substrata (Ambient)

Amon Tobin - ISAM (ISAM might be his one of the more hard to listen to LPs if you are new to such musi but it is High Quality madness. Amon Tobin is a ride in it's own if you went on to sidcover more from him. Probably the most inventive of all the electronic artists)

The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond this World (ambient and textural masterpiece. This album will make you feel old)

Bluetech - Sines & Singularities (This might be the most fun of all. Downtempo)

Shpiongle - Are You Shpongled? (Psychedelic masterpiece)

Entheogenic - Spontaneous Illumination (Psybient)

Younger Brother - The Last Days of Gravity (you will like this if you like Pink Floyd. This one is the most musical of all I listed)

Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Aes Dana, Apparat, H.U.V.A Network, The Orb, Zen Baboon, Shulman - All these are psybient and downtempo artists. Everyone has a sound of their own.

Psytrance is where electronic music gets the most fun but it rarely gets mentioned.
Here some of my favorite psy:
Hux Flux - Cyptic Crunch
Hallucinogen - Twisted
Astral Projection - Trust in Trance
Kox Box - Dragon Tales

I love this thread.

I don't know what sound you're looking for but check out:
Com Truise - Galactic Melt
Bonobo - Migration
Blank Banshee - Blank Banshee 0
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica

I didn't enjoy this album. I often get deceived by this board into believing certain artist are good.

Just anything by kode9
Jessy lanza
Wlf grl
objekt
Pantha du prince
Lapalux
Telefon tel aviv
Zomby

>no Andy Stott
