What is the difference?
Is there one?
What is the difference?
Is there one?
no if you are using a normal number system
First one is equal to -.5
Second is equal to -2
you are fucking dense
Wait what?
Are you sure?
I'm going into calculus soon-ish. Does that make a difference?
No, my old math teacher just taught us to move the negative symbol to make it refer to the whole fraction.
One is a nigger and the other is a jew
And you are their son hahhahhaha
multiply them both by 2/1 you FUCKING USELESS PIECE OF SHIT
that, along with the contents of your post, proves you are too young for this board and should leave immediately
-1 + -1 2
-- -- = -- or 2/4ths half .5
2 2 4
1 1 2
-- + -- = -- .5 2/4ths half .5
-2 2 4
they are both the same
It doesn't. This is basic math so I'm not sure how you skipped this.
jest of it 2 negatives = a postive they hold the same vaule
theyre equal dip
both equal - (1/2)
...
it just has to do with multiplication.
-1/2 * 1/-2 = -1/-2
Depending on wether or not the top is negative or the bottom is negative decides when you can get rid of the sign. in given case to get rid of the negative signs you would have to multiply by
-1/-2 * -1/-1 = 1/2
Okay thanks everyone.
Byeeeeeee
negative in the denominator or in the numerator mean the fraction is negative
Is this bait?
EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD KILL YOURSELF
is anything posted here not bait?
It's hard to tell sometimes
you have to use the square root of -1 to get rid of a negtive in the denumerator.
just like the square root of (1/-2) is positive but the square root of (-1/2) is imaginary
you are like a baby
No there isn't.
Sleep peacefully.
they are both equal to (e^ i pi)/11.999...
kill your self my man that isn't even correct ???
you don't know shit you fucking retard
There is a difference because you have to move the negative sign to the top on the right expression, and then move it to the outside, vs. the left expression where you just have to move it to the outside to evaluate it.
Right side is two steps and left side is one step so there is a difference.
This is actually true. Case in point I recently had to work through the proof of a theorem that involved 'assume 2 is not equal to 0'. Fucking abstract algebra man, it takes you weird places
Made you reply, didn't it?
kek
You can write it as -1 (1/2) for either
Ha, I bet you're still an undergrad. Last week I did a proof where all I was given was that ω1 is not equal to 0 and that the continuum hypothesis is false. lrn2maths
Cool story bro
cuck
Okay buddy we've all seen you, you're a big boy, congratulations
No, the only difference is a retard formatted the second one.
...
THE FUCK YOU SAY TO ME YOU FUCKING BITCH. YOU THINK YOUR FUCKING COOL CAUSE YOUR IN GRAD SCHOOL HUH MOTHERFUCKER? I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU FOR TALKING SHIT LIKE THAT BITCH. YOU CAN SUCK MY FUCKING DICK WHILE LICKING MY ASSHOLE
get on my level
-1/2 = (-1)*(1/2) = [(-1/1)*(-1/-1)]*(1/2) = [(-1*-1)/(1*-1)]*(1/2) = (1/-1)*(1/2) = 1/-2
Kek that's really all easy math though
Of course I mean identities - they are all expressing the same thing
no it's genius level mathematics mate
i'm the next grothendieck muthafucka
Wait but if -1/2 was phone, Who was -1/-2?
b8
here's a more interesting one OP
HEY OP
on the left u have negative applied to the ONE
on the right you have negataive applied to the TWO
you can put le negative symbol beside the fraction bar to basically shorthand "-(1/2)" which is androgynous and may result in multiple solutions depending on its function.
Your mom's androgynous
Lol set theorists
Nice bullshit.
lmao you fucking want to one up someone on math in Sup Forums? No one fucking cares what education you have here. If you're trying to stroke your own ego this is the wrong place
Never seen /sci/ huh?
1. Another craft - most likely Shuttle
2. Contrast makes them too faint to see with such a bright image of the satellite front and center
3. Satellites are quite small and orbit is VERY VERY big duh
Math is great, every mathemetician is required to believe in their echo chamber buzzwords, but none of it really matters so the jokes on them! Haha, mathematics is hilarious!
you
Shh! Don't tell them about our secret hangout!
thats pretty obvious tho, just multiply it by i/i
...
You're saying that like the OP was any less obvious
honestly i still don't get how the op is true. i guess my mind is just too complex
Here's something to take care of with fractions.
It's literally the number above divided by the number below.
See
>my mind is just too complex
Don't be so full of yourself.
OP's is the same. Multiply one side by -1/-1
