Be small brazilian club

>be small brazilian club
>manage to meme a way into the final of the second-tier international competition of South America
>have to face the current Libertadores champions, favored to win, on their stadium in Colombia
>die on a plane crash with five survivors on the way to the game
>suddenly everyone cares about the club
>your opponent forfeits and asks that the title is given to you
>receive 15000 new membership applications
>won't get relegated for three years in your league
>the top clubs in Argentina, Brazil and Portugal have pledged to give you players for free

Have they, dare I say, hit the jackpot?

i wish i didn't watch this

just as planned...

Not to mention how devoted their fans are gonna be from now on.

All aboard! Choo choo!

I dare say they hit the earth.

EL ECUATORIANO

banging tune

this is wrong

but also fun

they didn't fly so good

Since their city has 170k people, no one outside there actually supported the club and were literally in the 4th division 7 years ago, they already were.

There is so much virtue signalling going on in the aftermath of this. Throw a fundraiser for them to sign a new squad and then get on with business as usual

youtube.com/watch?v=oN5tZ_X0dSo

I think this is still the mourning phase, as FIFA has declared the minute of silence for all games this weekend. But yeah, I definetely see virtual signaling from some clubs and medias. The spox for chape earlier today said he is very thankful for all the help but that the club will lift itself up by it`s own boots. I think he sees this too desu.

>receive 15000 new membership applications

What does this mean?
Like applications to be a player?
Or to be part of the fan club or something?

Socio-torcedor, it is like being in a club, you pay a fee, get better deals for products/tickets to games, stuff like that

thats pretty neat

>plane crash with five survivors

financially it is a pretty penny and this is only 2 days after the tragedy.

>The spox for chape earlier today said he is very thankful for all the help but that the club will lift itself up by it`s own boots. I think he sees this too desu.

Fair play, that makes me like them even more

usually anual fee that gets you a seat/access in the home stadium to watch all regular season games, or at least better prices and preference for tickets

for reference top clubs tend to have ~100k paying full members

What's the next step of your master plan?

A better version

E C U A D O O O O O O R

great tune m8

No, they hit the ground

Delfin chape tribute when?

Legit chuckled. Rip though

how many season ticket holders did they have?
their stadium is pretty small. it was probably next to impossible to get a ticket to their games?
now that people join that will be even harder. but i guess some people just want to support them financially.

Which Argentine clubs are giving them players? I haven't heard about it on tv and they talk 24/7 about the crash

Dunno but it was quite full in Sudamericana matches a couple weeks before the crash

they had 9000 members/ticket holders. their stadium has a 19000 capacity. their town has less than 200,000 people. Because so many people from across Brazil want to become a club member, a new form of membership was put in place today. For 240R$/year you get to be a symbolic member. Basically you get a your chape ID card and that`s it.

They're a big club for you

i read that riquelme is going to come out.
(of retirement). to play for them. his mom asked him to help brazil and he can't say no to his mom jajajajaja
here is the screen of his decision

yeah, that makes perfect sense. just what i thought, basically a fundraiser. good for them!

Mate, that screen is from like 10 years ago

i know, but seriously i saw this:
dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3990806/Ronaldinho-Juan-Roman-Riquelme-come-retirement-play-tragic-Brazilian-club-Chapecoense.html

The players and all haven`t even been buried yet bro. But I`m sure that when the time comes, the clubs who want to help will send players that want to go, and that chape will accept. In light of all this virtue signaling going on, there was an odd comment by the chape spox earlier in a press conference. He said he was very thankful for the help everyone is offering but chape is gonna lift itself up by its own bootstraps.

>Two legends of the game would consider playing for the team, say reports
This is media clickbait lad.

That might be true but that doesn't answer my question

Riquelme doesn't play for any Argentine club

I heard Riquelme about a month ago saying he wanted to start playing again, this could be a nice opportunity

yes sounds unlikely and kinda odd.

I think he is just tired exactly of the virtue signaling going on. But this club worked hard to where they got by the strength of their own small community so it`s not like there isn`t some kind of truth to what he said.

Yes Messi and Ronaldo will both join it for practically free

sorry my comment was regarding ronaldinho and riquelme. i mean i agree it is likely bs

Gotcha. Yeah, I don`t see how any major star would want to go live in chapeco. it`s simply much too small for them.

There definitely is A LOT of virtue signaling going on right now

It's incredible how many people posting hashtags and shit in facebook when these things happen forget everything as quickly as the news stop mentioning it.

It's okay to feel sad for them even if you didn't know about them before, it was a tragedy, but some people are totally going out of their way to publicly demonstrate empathy and this is ridiculous, this is like using the tragedy to inflate your own value in the eyes of others, vanity.

I've actually attended one of their games two years ago when they played here against my favorite team and even i don't feel that sad, i mean it sucks, we all wish it didn't happen, let's remember the good things about them, hope that the new team carry on their legacy and move on.

Totally, there are major clubs here using their pee-wee volleyball league match friendly to hashtag the shit out of this. It`s kind of disgusting.

Does anyone find the whole thing a bit suspicious?

At first I was Bane? But then no.

Holy crap why is this so funny

I laughed so hard I choked on air

would you get in a plane again if you were a survivor of something like this?

flight 2933 was an inside job

>dame tu mano y venga conmigo, ECUADOR!
Kek

>let's go in a trip to find the magical sounds of Ecuador
>big house European EDM background music
what did he mean by this

Ecuador is white

>tfw the trauma will never go away

It's like when you get a million dollar settlement for being raped with a knife and left for dead

They have a small fee which is $16.90 (Idk if it's per month or per year) that allows you to support the club even if you don't live in Chapecó.
So that amount isn't much if you think well.

They had woman in drivers seat. Couldn't parallel park the fucking plane.

In 'murrican terms fanclub membership is closest equivalent, poor mans season ticket. Discounts on tickets, fan apparel, flags, food on stadium, some pubs, bars or restaurants around the city.

Quite often it is also actual membership in the club as outside of North America teams are clubs, not franchises and clubs tend to have amateur and junior teams for local and regional amateur leagues. You know, lowest tiers of local league system pyramid. Top levels are professional and from there it goes gradually from semi-professional to amateurs... to drunken or hungover ultras kicking ball instead of ultras of other teams every once in a while.

oh well, that was useless

Will they really get those players though?

always chileans who promote these memes, meanwhile these """""""""artists""""""" have more fans than any chilean musical enterprise ever

Plop

It`s up to whichever players are willing to go live in a very small town ameribro. I doubt any stars will go.

it's a medium city

'bout the size of Salt Lake

The whole of Salt Lake city is 5 times population of Chapeco.
>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_Lake_City_metropolitan_area

I'm sure Chapecoense will get plenty of visibility throughout the next year. Luiz Enrique is considering a friendly match with them and Benfica said it may loan their reserve players if Chape wants. I think a Colombian manager already wants to coach them too. Plus the money from the entire world on shirt sales and the fanclub membership.

IIRC they are also receiving a 40 million euros donation from PSG.

PSG denied this. It was a rumor.

Five survivors? Not six?

>six
3 players, 2 crewmates and 1 journo.

I knew the number was off.
