What does Sup Forums think/hope happens when you die?

Nothing, same as before I was conceived. There won't be a "me" once my brain ceases to function.

you fuck hot chicks all day and see all your old friends and relatives that have died. its a total paradise and party everyday for eternity. does that make you feel better? EVERYTHING FADES TO BLACK...THE END

Your energy crosses dimensions and you live a new life

i hope the virgin mary shows up and gives me the succ

So you think you just go to 'nothingness'?

no one thinks that, you are just begging for replies.

I asked a question so yeah, that usually involves people replying.

Yes. What I think of as me is a function of my brain. Once that stops, I cease to exist.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea of being unaware of being in nothing. I know it was like it for the millions of years before I was born but it's just weird.

I hope I will wake up in a random period of my past life knowing everything that will happen in the future.

I hope that it is like sleeping. I doubt it will be that good

I kind of hope this but I want to be able to pick parts of my life and re-live them. I'm unsure if I'd want to be aware of the future or be able to change things in the present. Maybe if I could just replay moments over and over and act differently to see the outcomes. Shouting nigger at random points in conversations could cause some interesting reactions from people.

reincarnation
thats what i tellmyself before I suicide

ur ded

Neither can I really, but I think that's because all we are capable of experiencing is what it's like to be a living brain, interpreting inputs from specialised cells to build a working approximation of the world. Almost by definition, we can't imagine not being here to imagine.
"I think, therefore I am", so to speak.
Most people have no problem thinking of oblivion when it comes to other animals though, even loved pets. We can imagine them just ceasing, just not ourselves. Seems a little arrogant, if anything.

would you rather have hot dogs for toes, or ziti for fingers?

Hot dogs for toes.

Sleep forever.

Do you think you would dream?

Nothing, it's not a big deal to me or the world.

>I want to be able to pick parts of my life and re-live them.
I'm don't, I think it would spoil all the fun.
What is cool is know what's going to happen, not knowing where you will be and where you are going to stop.

you chose wisely.

What i think: We cease to exist.
What i hope: reincarnation (preferably as a good looking white person, living in a non cucked first world country)

That's actually an awesome theory. Makes death more exciting when it comes now thank you

Nothing Op.

Peaceful nothingness

If conscience continues after death i would hate that, am already hating being alive right now..

You're born again. A crying fresh the womb newborn cries because it's the former person remembering their former life. All the memories, People, places. Within 10 minutes that newborn forgets and they start all over

I think it's entirely possible you pretty much are reincarnated in an alternate reality because the universe is so big (infinite). You won't remember what happened in that past life so it's essentially like non-existence.

As the same person or as someone completely different?

Guess you beat me to it by a couple of minutes

our alien selves wake up from the simulation and go HOLY SHIT THAT WAS COOL then we go
to some alien version of Starbucks and blog about it

Interesting theory haha

You could end up being completely different I think. From the butterfly effect from an infinite number of realities and scenarios, there's a world where you are everything you wanted to be, and that is a reality, just not the consciousness you're in right now, but it's possible you've lived that life before

this kid

Nobody knows user.

Which is why it's a good thing.

I've also thought that maybe you die and wake up in the morning in another life, then when you go to sleep again you live a different life in that sleep and then that just infinitely loops.

Dogs and cats will be gods of the new world ,and you would just pet hundreds, no thousands of dogs and cats all the time. Or just a lengthy nap.

Makes about as much sense as christianity, or islam.

You don't. You slowly feel your life running out of you and then you think and see things like a retard because of lack of oxygen and then you completely fade to black.

You think it just stays black? Do you think you would be aware?

I completely forgot that I have a cousin that has overdosed twice on heroin and died but survived so I can just ask him

I'd guess consciousness doesn't remain. That'd be terrifying and hell if you're stuck in blackness with nothing but your thoughts

So many theories yet no one knows user. Holistically, looking at everything, we are so insignificant compared to whatever created us that we simply don't matter. Atleast not individual people.

We learn to fear death because we have a natural instinct to survive. The most likely scenario is humanity will live on forever but only through machines. We are the fore-fathers of AI. Nothing more than the creators of the next step in evolution. Unless we develop a way to put our conscious mind into a machine; but that probably wont happen in our life time.

As far as your physical being. Our consciousness is an interesting topic. I personally like to think it moves onto something else after my body dies but using common sense.... we just die and that's it. We end. I hope that's not true but my instincts tell me that's most likely what happens.

Best not let it consume you. The thought of everything and how our universe works and the fallacies in human beliefs... well.. it's a bit depressing. Magnificent but depressing.

But user take this with you as a parting gift. Many nights staring up into the skies... I have dived in philophical thought about things... One thing I can't explain is how much the entire universe has all the signs of "creation." While that might not change our significance or our eternity of darkness after death, it does kind of give me a glimpse of hope that there may be some grand scheme to it all.

No after awhile you would have no apparatus to be "aware" with

you really would cease to exist

You wake up from whatever simulation you're running, take a look at your score, and notice your friends are laughing at you for all the mistakes you'd made over the past 5 minutes.

i dont even get how this is a question. you die and you rot away like everything else in the universe. retards

>died
>survived
Pick one

According to the science we know, yes.
But we don't know everything, do we?

>lack of oxygen
Look up DMT

I think I might screenshot this and make it my new bible

kek. I'm plugging into the next fucking hitler next.

i hope ill get my 72 virgins

What happens to the tv show you're watching when you turn off your tv?

What was your life like before you were born?

It's just simply lights out, all that time in sleep mode, but without dreams, nightmares or returning to an awaken state.

They'd find out that I fapped to loli and traps and point and laugh for eternity.

>tfw when thats me

Remembering that there's a finite amount of energy, and it cannot be created or destroyed, but it can change state - it leads to the reincarnation argument for sure. Reincarnated as what though? Dog, fish, dandelion - who knows.

It's a feature in the game.

Just saying, if you are an intelligent person, your brain will atrophy upon itself and you will literally become a retard as you experience your death. That is frightening.

dang i should have put more into then

you're an idiot if you think something happens lol

One long eternal orgasm.

kill yourself and find out

You know you're able to be revived in real life right? Defibrillators aren't just in movies and games

What I think happens when you die is, that you just die And because of that, you can't experience any of it. So, you don't see black or anything, you just stop existing.

I'll let you know what happens.

I'll fight the good war in the heavens

I hope for eternal sleep tbh

People have come back from the brink of death with stories about a white light and a loved one beckoning them towards it.

...

DMT

And I in Hell. Prepare yourself!

faggot

>oh shit getting married
>do you say Yes, Mr. user?
>NNNNNIIIIGGGEEEERRRRR!!!!

I've mostly heard that there's a blinding light and then fades to blackness and nothing. Scary to think about, I'm not ready for that kind of commitment

DMT is a drug. Meaningless.

Its chemicals in their brain and their subconsciousness playing a trick on them

You wouldn't have a choice, user.

Exactly! Then after seeing the consequences replay it again and just whip your dick out instead. So many possibilities.

And who determined this? Some hippie pretending to be a scientist?

How do you know what people are seeing when they're dying?

See you on the battlefield, brother

Isn't the ability to kill ourselves at any moment really the most consistent and big choice we have control over?

>our bodies are releasing chemicals

So? What if that's what it takes to get us out of our bodies and into another experience?

If thats true Id just be crying because I was holed up in some whore's cunt for 9 months

Because dying people are still alive.

Whether you kys or not you still have to face the Void.

You will wait 0 secounds to birth like last time with no past memories.

That /is/ what happens, though.
*ahem*

OK there is literally no evidence that the visions you see upon death are byproducts of DMT in your body. This is hippie drug culture nonsense.

If ecstacy is just a drug that releases chemicals that's already in our brains.. and if dying releases all the chemicals in our brains.. then we will truly experience something great when we die.

You can't be aware or unaware while dead.

And it could last for centuries from our perspective. Or longer.

What's the void?

The light, the blackness, whatever it was you feel you can't "commit" to at this time.

A myth.

I kinda wanna die just to see what it's like.

gotta admit, this guy pretty much has it nailed down.
that being said, if I got to choose I'd want to go again same life, with retained knowledge of 5 things that I knew that would happen (to me personally not like lottery tickets in 98).

5 different choices in this life and I think I could've been a happier person.

If you gotta stay dead then I hope paradise is living in the hills and forests I roamed as a kid only as they were before humanity cleared and ruined them with my dogs, my best friends, and close family.

The Void is real. It is meticulously studied in Buddhism and other Eastern philosophies.

You will be rebirth as a catepillar.

You'll most likely experience anxiety and the feeling of impending doom right before you die (unless its a quick death, but if that's the case then there wouldn't be any chance for ecstacy, or whatever you're implying.)

Your dogs and people close to you helped destroy a pristine wilderness?
