Let me get this right. CU jumps from 8 to 4, over a team that beat them, because they beat a team that the team that beat them is literally millimeters behind in terms of being in the playoffs? If anything, Michigan looks even better for having soundly beaten a team that beat Washington.

The only possible scenario in which Washington or Clemson loses this weekend and Michigan doesn't get in is if Clemson loses, in which case Wisky could bounce over Mich if Washington blows CU out. Buffs winning just makes Michigan's resume even better.

The committee highly values a conference championship, which they will have if they win. Just going by their criteria.

The protocol is only for use in breaking a tie between teams that are otherwise "equal", and there is no particular emphasis placed on any one facet of it- it all depends on the individual committee member's preferences. Strength of schedule and head-to-head may very well matter more to some than a championship.
