A Mini-14 is a .223 rifle a fair bit like the AR-15 but you can buy them without an evil pistol grip and a muzzle brake instead of a flash hider and boom, you can use it without a bullet button.
I'm pretty sure you can also have at least 10 round mags, maybe you can buy bigger ones out of state.
Alternatively, you can buy an AR-15 with an abortion of a stock to make it legal. Mini or other rifle with a fixed stock is a better option IMO. (Louise)
