Given that I was being charged with numerous weapons-related offenses, my record won't be officially sealed until I turn 30. As such, I'm not sure whether I can purchase a firearm or not. The judge made it sound like I wouldn't be able to, but much of what I've read online suggests I can.

Don't really know, to be honest. All that was almost a decade ago.

I'm almost 25 now and am a PhD candidate at a decent university. That part of my life is well behind me. I miss being able to go grouse and deer hunting but am worried about getting rejected if I try to purchase a firearm. I know the chances of being prosecuted for a failed application are minimal, but meh.

From a mechanical standpoint, a gun does exactly what I've described. You can apply your ethical or philosophical reasoning however you wish, it doesn't change the fact that a gun is a relatively uncomplicated machine that does one job rather effectively.

I own guns for hunting and pest control. Deer are pests in my country that eat native plants, destroying the habitat for native wildlife.
