There are, of course, exceptions to the Deist argument. I'd consider myself an agnostic anyways. But, there is undoubtedly tragedy and malevolence in the world. You can't give someone a bible, a Quoran, a book of philosophy or whatever and expect them to accept it and live their lives based on it. I can tell you what I think. But, I am far from an expert on the Bible. If you consider life like a moral test then Jesus couldn't have stuck around. And, the fact that other people who did not accept Jesus's teachings killed him is a metaphor for how people ignore morality in favor of all those sins that the Bible talks about. You need to find the "spirit of christ" yourself if he was right next to us holding our hands there would be no moral test to take. You'd be spoonfed the answers.
