Experimental Hip Hop Albums

post god-tier albums only. will add to the chart as thread goes on

>Coin Locker Kid
Awesome taste OP

Get rid of Yeezus
Replace Madvillainy with Vaudeville Villain
Add and Negro Necro Nekros

...

>god-tier albums only
>first thing you added is yeezus
this thread will go smoothly im sure

yes

no

This should have been the first thing there.

None of those albums are experimental in the slightest. In fact, they're pretty commercial (that doesn't make them bad, though).

was going to include more here but system thought it was spam

how is yeezus not experimental though

...

Replace Uneven Compromise with Oblivion Access and take off Savage Mode

...

Yeezus is probably the least experimental there. On Sight is pretty much Daft Punk + distortion, BLKKK SKKKNHEAD is pretty much a Marylin Manson song with rapping, and it mostly sounds like rap music over Nine Inch Nails instrumentals. Bound 2 isn't experimental in the slightest.

goat

remove savage mode wtf that was a meme

yeezus is trash

I Am A God is more experimental than most Madvillainy tracks

Eh, I wouldn't be surprised if Savage Mode didn't influence some of the more ambient beats in hip hop today. Still not deserving of the "experimental" tag, but it isn't a meme.

you sure that's experimental?

took off yeezus by request even though it's dope, somebody please get some industrial hippity hop that's better than death grips because mc ride scares me

...

...

>Take Me To Your Leader
>still not pic related

You could put Rodeo instead of Yeezus.

Add Members Only Vol 2

Rodeo is 10x less experimental than Yeezus

put something by blackie idk which one but put blackie on that shit

But 10x more original.

Yeah put "Imagine yourself in a free and natural world" by blackie

This or Remains

There are already two charts much more put together than this chart, it looks like some newfag's chart
This is only one really experimental
I'd post some but I'm high rgihtb now and it's kicking in even harder

Add Greenthink - Blindfold and Reaching Quiet - In the Shadow of the Living Room

it deserves the experimental tag. savages lazy delivery and the atmospheric metro boomin beats are excellent combo.

That's a compilation

It's the "god-tier only" part people are taking issue with.

>atroshitty exhobition
>experimental

>how is yeezus not experimental though
Look at the list of producers and listen to their music. Everything they did in Yeezus they had already done before in their own releases.

This is the right DG album to post

wait for an album for him first sheesh
well post it then oldfag

chart's filled up, should I expand it more or remove well-known artists?

Only the second half tho

Bye OP

This is much better than what was started with.
This chart makes me so sick, but I think the thing that makes me the most mad is the fact that out of kool a.d.'s 24 album discog, they chose his most accessible.

What's the name of the last album of the first row ?

coin locker kid - traumnovelle

That's fucking rock music dumb fuck. Nothing about it is hip hop

I'll make one when I'm mores coherent
I'll call it alternative /abstract/ industrial hip hop

Maybe for Jenny Death, but Niggas on the Moon is pretty much a hip-hop album. Looped beats, heavy sampling, added drums and a rapping delivery.

>Getting rid of the best rap album of the 2010s

The word experimental doesn't necessarily need to imply originality, though. Relative to Kanye's discography, this was definitely. Hell, even compared to most hip hop it was pretty experimental. The experimentation was only pulled off well for a fraction of the album, but that's beside point (unless we're talking about OP's god-tier criteria, that's a whole different story).

definitely experimental*
