This one is okay, though I'd recommend you start where black metal was born - Bathory. After you've finished with their bm era, check out the bands Bathory spawned in Norway, Sweden and Finland. Don't forget to check out USA's Black Twilight Circle, Inquisition and Judas Iscariot, Iceland has some neat bands, too, and don't forget to check out France's scene - shit like Peste Noirre and DSO. Germany also has some solid band, Fyrnask being the stand out, and also check out what Japan offers, Sigh being the most famous one.

how do I like death metal? what aspect of the music am I supposed to enjoy? riffs seem too chaotic to make sense of, vocals are laughable, I just don't get it.
