It's a fucking lock, God damn you people are so damn stupid.

It is a transit

...

that doesn't explain the spirit level, why would a lock have one of those

Survey equipment, or maybe something from a plane. My granddad had a bomb sight from a Lancaster that looked something like that.

Why wouldn't a lock have one? Think about a simplistic lock in all its form..

actually...
point taken, maybe a vault lock would have one...

Might, but you're not gonna have a vault lock that screws in to the door.

FUCK NO.

Its the optics and gimbal of a Nordon Bombsight, used by bombardiers when flying the plane on the approach to the target. The pilot releases control of the plane to the bombardier, who flies the plane using an analog computer/mechanical device calibrated to the acceleration and subsequent terminal velocity of the particular bombs, the altitude difference of the plane versus the target, and the velocity of the plane. This is why german factories went underground, the bombs were deadly accurate in clear enough weather that the pilots could find the area and then allow the bombardier to use 1940's GPS.

servos and analog computers could theoretically guide and power your smart car along the streets without running into any more higher insurance rates than any other nominally careful person.

>£10 lock from Homebase

I'm a Mexican. That looks like something to check the level of landscape. Notice the bubble levels.
