Basically kids are being emotionally and physically abused by their parents under the guise of being pranks, and their misery is exploited for profit on youtube.
Now that the story's out, the father's ex-wife has come out and stated that the young redheads Emma and Cody are actually her children who were stolen from her when she allowed them to live there for 6 months to get to know their father, when the father's new wife forged documents in their mother's name. She's been in a legal battle ever since to get them back, which is a rough job since the kids were taken across state lines and the bio mother has some mild brain damage causing short term memory loss and learning disability (but not retardation). She's also accused the father of stalking her. Cody and Emma are both also special needs, Cody with some anxiety issues and Emma with mild cerebral palsy. She claims both have visibly mentally and physically deteriorated since living with their father.
The father and step-mother uploaded a damage control video simultaneously saying their videos are fake and the kids already know exactly what's coming, while also virtue signalling that there are pranks they refused to do because they didn't want the kids to believe anything too scary. They also confirmed that the woman claiming to be Emma and Cody's mother is legitimate, but didn't address any of the issues she revealed and basically just told her to fuck off, the step mother insisting she's nevertheless their "real" mother and the father saying to his ex that, to paraphrase, "there's room for us to coexist if you just stay away."
