I swear almost all country music is like these now in days and I don't know how anyone can find these good country music when there are other country music that actually does not revolve around everything I have mentioned above

Fuck you country music is fine they all are good and they don't suck

Yeah, country music has been ruined by commercialism like every other popular genre. Just stick to the 80's and 90's country artists to avoid the poppy country they make now.

name 10 (ten) good country

Albania

1. the united states of america
2. who fucking cares about the rest

just listen to ~90k view youtube videos of 40's-70's country music, the cliche shit cuts to a minimum there

Nothing wrong eith country music and all of those you mentioned is a lie

What are essential country albums that DON'T sound like Easy Pete's theme song
shit like Carrisa is welcome

Country music is ammune to criticism except for edgy faggots like you faggot

Bump

but OP, all of those subjects can be done well
the problem with the songs you likely have in mind is that they're shallow and lazy exploitations of those themes rather than well-crafted explorations of them

>ammune
I hope you didn't unintentionally fail this hard

That is likely the issue he is pointing at because the only country music i like listening to is john mellencamp and john cougar.

Can you give us an example on what your talking about?

Sorry I actually have diagnosed autism.

Country music is fine as long as it isn't about
>lists the topics of all the world's greatest music

Ray Wylie Hubbard, Sturgill Simpson, Jamie McMurtry, and Hayes Carll are all good and they all still make music.

What you're doing is like listening to a metal radio station and coming to the conclusion that it all blows dick when in reality there are thousands of underground bands worth your time and money.

Almost all songs have always been about those things.

All I know about country comes from my parents playing it one the radio throughout my childhood, but I’ll try. First off, what I mean by exploiting a topic is when the artist pretty much just mentions a theme and passes that off as the song being an exploring the subject. It’s shallow and comes off as half-assed. You just have to turn on any pop country radio station to hear plenty of examples of this. Let’s contrast that with Kenny Chesney’s “The Good Stuff,” which I think is one of the most intelligently-written pop country songs out there, and it addresses some of the subjects in OP’s list. Crucially, rather than just stating a theme and leaving it at that, the song tells a story that weaves a few of them together into a touching and coherent story. Let’s look at the lyrics:

Well, me and my lady had our first big fight
So I drove around till I saw the neon light
The corner bar, it just seemed right so I pulled up
Not a soul around but the old bar keep
Down at the end lookin' half asleep
But he walked up and said, what'll it be?
I said the good stuff
He didn't reach around for the whiskey
He didn't pour me a beer
His blue eyes kinda went misty
He said you can't find that here
'Cause its the first long kiss on a second date
Momma's all worried when you get home late
And droppin' the ring in the spaghetti plate
'Cause you're hands are shakin' so much
And its the way that she looks with her eyes and her hair
Eatin' burnt suppers the whole first year
And askin' for seconds to keep her from tearin' up
Yeah man, that's the good stuff
He grabbed a carton of milk and he poured a glass
And I smiled and said I'll have some of that
We sat there and talked as an hour passed like old friends
I saw a black and white picture and it caught my stare
It was a pretty girl with bu-font hair
He said, that's my Bonnie, taken 'bout a year after we wed
He said, I spent five years in the bar when the cancer took her from me
But I've been sober three years now
'Cause the one thing's stronger than the whiskey
Was the sight of her holdin' my baby girl
The way she adored that string of pearls
I gave her the day that our youngest boy Earl
Married his high school love
And its a new t-shirt sayin' I'm a grandpa
Bein' right there as our time got small
And holdin' her hand when good the Lord called her up
Yeah man that's the good stuff
He said, when you get home she'll start to cry
When she says, I'm sorry, say so am I
Look into those eyes so deep in love and drink it up
'Cause that's the good stuff
That's the good stuff

The song begins by saying “me and my lady had our first big fight” which suggests that the narrator isn’t very far into his romantic relationship, at least not when compared to the relationship the bartender describes. This sets up that this song deals with complicated romantic relationships. It’s also clear that he has a drinking problem, since his response to having a big fight with his lady is to drive to some bar and get shitfaced. We can imagine that the bar is a bit of a dive. It’s empty other than the bartender, an old man who barely with it. We can imagine that he’s a bit of a rough-looking character, who probably has dealt with a drinking problem of his own. The bartender is seems pretty beaten-down by life, but he comes to life when the narrator walks in. Now, imagine you’re the narrator and you asked the guy for “the good stuff” and he starts ranting about romance and shit like that. It should be apparent that he’s a damaged man, scarred by a hard life. This shit is really weighing heavy on him and he needs to get it out, even if the only person he can tell it to is some stranger who just walked into the bar. The narrator and the bartender are friendly with each other, recognizing that they can relate to each other’s situation, and it comes out that the bartender’s relationship with his own lady wasn’t exactly perfect but that’s fine with him because he’s realized that it’s the little things in life that matter more than anything else, or, it’s sharing the little things with someone you love. The narrator enters the bar because he thinks that alcohol (a kind of self-indulgence) is “the good stuff” and he learns from the somewhat-cautionary tale of the bartender, a damaged man who wants to pass on his hard-earned wisdom to the young narrator, that “the good stuff” is the love you share with your partner despite the hardships of your relationship.

Do you understand now?

Stop

>tells someone to stop discussing music on a music discussion board

Jason Aldean unironically

>muh wife leaving me
>muh girlfriend leaving me
Some of the greatest country songs are about this.
>muh wife cheating
>muh girlfriend cheating
Same as above but I'd say the cheating thing is more common for female singers.
>muh drug problems
>muh drinking problems
>muh bad habit problems
>muh depression and sadness
>muh money problems
>muh selfpity and loathsome
>muh relationship problems
All of these are common themes across all music genres unless you only listen to obscure electronic music or something. Seems like you have issues in relating to people with feelings. Get that checked out m8
