I mean no one is perfect, but these are the litmus.
Asher Ward
does polly want a cracker?
Kayden Nelson
Most birds love crackers, but they are not really good for them.
Millet or Sunflower seed (very fattening) is for most birds like tuna for a cat.
Xavier Edwards
Do you hate gays? Or just tolerate them because you're not supposed to be judgey?
Kevin Perez
I am Gay. Though I have been celibate for more than 25 years.
Many Christians refuse to accept my testimony because I will not deny my attractions. I do not date or seek out others for a relationship. (Matt 19) But saying I do not still find males attractive would be a lie. I have not been able to "pray the gay away"..
Anthony Garcia
My friend says he doesn't believe in God. Well at least not in Jesus, but a higher power. He talks shit about my religion and says I'm brain washed, should I just stop hanging out with him? I feel as if the Lord himself is testing me.
Lucas Perez
You don't have to stop hanging out with someone just becasue they don't believe as you do.
At least he is open enough to consider the higher power thing. Just agree not to interfere with each others faith or lack thereof.
Live as Christ taught be an example.
You do not HAVE to preach to him or try to convince him of anything.
(If you really feel compelled to end the friendship because of some gut feeling or ??? well you have to live with the results.)
Wyatt Murphy
...
Jaxson Morales
I want to be Christian for the dating scene but idk, I don't buy the whole God thing.
Can you sell me on it?
Michael Cruz
Well it was Jesus who said "leave your wives" and such
Lucas Smith
Give me a motivation to go to church tomorrow
Charles Myers
i almost fainted at mass again on wednesday
why can't the incense go away
Nathaniel Roberts
Sale you?
Not really. I mean I can explain some of the stories and histories in the Bible.. But it has to be something that you seek out. That you desire.
King Solomon said A man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life
IE Enjoy all things for tomorrow we may die.
Asher Evans
Well the whole religion thing is like a buzzkill tbh
King Solomon sounds like a bro
Ian Miller
Eh?
I would need more context?
(Matthew 19) Christ speaks of the fact that God never wanted divorce. Marriage was to be eternal. But because of folks in Moses time the Hebrews demanded divorcement.
Christopher Cox
Didn't Jesus ask his apostles to leave their wives and follow him?
John Davis
Why do you identify the ungodly flesh as yourself instead of your soul if it has been made free from homosexuality by faith?
Nicholas King
Does the Church you want to go to pass an "offering plate"?
I don't very often suggest more to folks then that they read their Bibles.
Yeah I can tolerate most of that perfumery.
Sandalwood, Frankincense and Tuberose are OK.. But only in moderation.. *cough*
I agree and in the Bible it says of religion:
It is the teaching and traditions of man that make void the word of God.
I kind of like to read about the Prophets rather than to enrich men in funny hats who are interested in profit$.
Carter White
You remind me of a dear friend from high school who became a Theologian despite being the first person I would assume to be an atheist.
Scholars of Christ are a curious bunch.
Aaron Morgan
No... None of them were married at the time. If they had been? Their family would have been welcome.
Brother I know who I am. Do you know who you are?
Why do you alienate your brothers?
I am free of Homosexuality, but I am still Gay.
What did you give up for our Father?
Thomas King
What made you believe in this god instead of any of the other 5000 gods people believe in?
Is it because you grew up around Christian people and you can't think for yourself? Of course it is
Charles Rivera
Remind you? Is he still alive?
Thank you for the kind words.
Justin Perry
She, and yes, but I don't speak to her much anymore.
Joseph Allen
Why do you answer questions you ask of others, for yourself? Why not just ask the question and await an answer?
(See now you have your jimmies rustled and I did not even have an opportunity to do it for you.)
Christopher Davis
That's too bad.
I love to meet others who like to "swim deep" theologically speaking.
I suppose you have reasons for not google-ing her?
David Flores
I think we may just be splitting hairs with how you worded that. I would not consider someone who does not commit an act of homosexuality gay just because they have perverse lust allowed to come against them.
Jack Thompson
It's because of this isn't your reason you are not only a faggot but severely retarded as well.
Benjamin Campbell
I could google her but it's not really important. We walk separate paths. I saw her like, 5 years ago. Was cool.
I'm not a great friend, I don't keep track and don't mail cards.
Michael Smith
Sorry I am prone to be a bit defensive on the matter.
See..
Sometimes friend teach us things no one else can. But hey walk your path. It will still be interesting. I just gravitate to other truth seekers.
Pick is for allow me to turn both cheeks.
Nicholas Thomas
Why are you a Christian? What convinced you? And if you were raised that way, have you ever taken a critical look on your religion?
Jonathan Cruz
I seek the truth, but I am not convinced Christianity can lead me there. But, I find I agree with Jesus more often than not... it's a difficult thing. I think Christ is right in most things, more than many others, but not in all.
I do not believe in loving your enemies. But I do believe in forgiveness.
Justin Ortiz
>What convinced you? Christ..
I mean really the guy was willing to die for what he believe and he attacked the "priests" in Solomon's own temple. He was not a fan of organized religion. I was Baptized Catholic and left before first communion. I did attend a "private school" for 3 years that was part of the "Agape Church" (TM)
I am certainly NOT one to recommend Church as a way to learn about Christ and his teachings. You may or may not find a decent teacher in a Church?
Read your Bible...
Bullinger's Companion Bible (KJV) and a Strong's Concordance.
I am very critical of my religion.
I often say "Teach the law, struggle to follow it. but NEVER dare to enforce it upon another!"
David Johnson
Loving your enemies does NOT mean to sell out or surrender to them. It just means do not harass and attack them. Always give them opportunity to repent. If they do NOT repent you are NOT required to forgive them.
(Matthew 18)
But if you go through life only doing what you are SURE Christ taught, and not some guy in a funny hat? Then by all means do so.
Wyatt Moore
>Christ convinced me Hmm okay. But I was looking for specific examples of what convinced you of the truthness of the claims that Christianity make. For example how can you be so sure that the events depicted in the Bible actually happened. (Btw are you a literalist? Do you think there are flaws in the Bible?)
What about Christianity has that makes you believe in it that boudhism, Islam and all the other religions
Justin Campbell
I have had those "famous" personal experiences that showed me something more then we realize is going on in "The World"..
In my misspent youth I got in some serious trouble while seeking my way. I was in Jail for assaulting a police officer. Now I thought at the time he was a servant of the devil so I reacted mostly out of fear (drugs probably were not a good thing to do at the time.) Anyway in the jail the same thing kept being repeated over and over. By other detainees. "You need to confess to the District Atty. if you don't they always file additional charges against you.." I was thinking "that is stupid! I have the right to remain silent and not incriminate myself!" It occurred to me that the only "person" I ever really needed to confess to was God. Suddenly a light went on and so I prayed just that. I was out of jail in less than 5 minutes. When I look up the charges against me online to this day they say "pending" (over 12 years ago.)
>Btw are you a literalist? Do you think there are flaws in the Bible?
Yes to both..
Jaxon Ramirez
>What about Christianity has that makes you believe in it that boudhism, Islam and all the other religions
What? Don't have..
I think that is what you wanted to ask?
I don't know much about Buddhism I certainly have nothing critical to say about it or the Buddha.. How can I know who is or is not an Avatar of God? Islam is just a bit different though.. I mean they recognize Christ as a Prophet, but deny his divinity.
Not with standing the fact that he never absolutely confirmed his divinity. If he had the Jewish high priests would have had him crucified.
But Islam extracts every Law of the Hebrew or Abrahamic faith and insists that you listen to the edicts of their Imams regardless of if that Imam follows his own edicts or not.. Again more men in funny hats saying do as I say..
A man with in the religion of Islam can find faith but I would not expect it.
Elijah Perez
I don't mean to be disrespectful but that's a weak base to base such a life altering belief on. If a Muslim had the very same experience you had while praying for his god, would you find his belief to be waranted?
If the Bible is flawed, then it's not the perfect word of God. If so, how do you feel justified by believing every word of it as true?
Jeremiah Hall
OP you ever see this movie? It's dope.
Brayden Parker
I believe when "rightly divided" the words of the Bible are true. That does not mean I believe the traditions the church (TM) would tell you are true.
I do not believe apple eating was original sin. I do not believe Adam and Eve were the first humans ever.
These are claims the church makes that are not supported even with in the flaws of the bible as you say...
When it comes to Gods and Christs words I do read and listen to them. But I do not consider every written word of the Bible to be theirs. I am not a fan of "inspiration" if you will..
I have serious issues with Paul.
I know that Leviticus was the code of law for Priests not for you and I. (while "I" is not used for me specifically. I digress.)
Let me explain later how it can be flawed and yet still correct. I will use the Parable of the rich man if you like?
Aiden Myers
No, but thank you for the suggestion. I will try to watch it this weekend. (Looks interesting.)
Brayden Carter
do u like birds? i think you like birds (:
Jackson Edwards
No I understand. I'm just trying to understand what you believe in. There was a miscommunication. I asked you if you were a Bible literalist and you answered yes. But by that I meant "Do you believe that everything in the Bible is literally true and literally happened" which you don't seem to actually believe and is inconsistent with believing there are flaws in the Bible. But that triggers new questions. How do you determine what is true and what is not in the Bible. If you pick and choose arbitrarily, I have some big problems with that.
And you didn't answer about the jail experience. If someone with incompatible beliefs with Christianity prayed to their god and the same thing happened to them, would you say their belief is waranted?
Bentley Brooks
Heh heh.. Yes very much so. It also helps to know which posts are mine.
Hunter Jones
Anal?
Bentley Howard
What did they mean by this? Do you believe it?
Noah Roberts
I bet there is room in Christ's heart for gays!
I really doubt the man condemned homosexual relations
Hunter Morgan
Not to turn a religious discussion thread into a birb thread haha.. Have you raised any? Any particular ones you like (m guessing parrots and other colorful exotics)? What kinda stuff do you do with your day i guess? )truthfully i just don't have the energy to have a faith discussion like everyone else here; not that i'm not open to, it's just like 5:30 am ); )
Logan Fisher
How valid is the old testament? I mean it mentions literal genocide as a good thing.
David Ramirez
>be catholic church >sentence entire netherlands to death >never apologise
Are you comfortable knowing these guys picked witch gospels made it into the Bible?
Easton Hill
I answered yes when it is "rightly divided".
Most of the time it isn't "rightly divided."
I mean there are 2 stories of creation in Genesis. Not just one. The Bible is the story of the "Hebrew" People primarily. They were NOT the first race of humans on Earth. The Earth is not 70000 years old and the Bible certainly makes no such claims.
So what is true? Did Christ himself say it? Did God? Or was it Paul? What gives Paul more authority then Christ? Or the Pope for that matter? Christ taught us what we need to know.. Most of it is with in that book..
I can not speak on behalf of a musim more than what I said above. They are (at least the Imams.) No different then the vast majority of men who also presume to speak for God and wear silly hats.
Christian Bailey
Personal question but where are you from? (Country) Is greed ALWAYS a bad characteristic?
Tyler Nelson
He could be coptic or nestorian
Brayden Thomas
Wat?
The Northern Gate to Jerusalem was called the "Eye of the needle" was used to admit travelers at night. A rich man had to unload his camel and have it crawl through the gate. It was a difficult but not impossible task.
There is room for Christ in my heart. It is our Father that I have some questions for. I hope you are right.
Only little guys. Budgerigars, Love Birds, Cockatiels. I am too old to raise a Macaw. Would feel bad if I shortened ones life by dying on it in the next 20 years.
I also love to putter about in the kitchen.
Thomas Sullivan
aw okay, you seem like a really sweet gentle fella if you like little tiny cuties like them as much fun as i'm having lurking i am falling asleep sitting up; will you be back one day bird man? ):
Luis Bennett
No, but luckily you can lookup almost any related text you desire today, online.
Read everything!!
Jack Green
So some parts are true , some aren't and you're the one to arbitrarily decide which one is true or not?
I'm not necessarily talking about Islam in this case. Just someone with incompatible beliefs with yours. Would their faith be waranted if they had the same experience
Robert Martinez
>literally #jerusalemgate No offense but that's nonsense. There is no archeological evidence for either a gate like that in Jerusalem or gates like that existing at all. "Large animal that lived in the area" going through a needle was a saying back then. Surely the thought of rich people reading that bit and spreading a rumour accured to you. I'm on mobile but do google it.
Jaxson Ross
I am American via Italy...
I have Catholic roots but I do not follow the church.
Rest well. I am around here often on weekends.. (As of today. I had taken a bit of a long vacation.)
Love Birds? Cuties? The Napoleon's of the bird world, suffering from tail envy! (I wish I had mine here still... sigh..)
Not what I said. Read the thread.
Learned men...
William Gomez
Meant to reply Also that's not a parrot. Unless that's what you feed them.
Nathan Rodriguez
LOL Parrots would love the shit out of those spring rolls.
But the image was related to my putter about the kitchen comment.
Ayden White
>Learned men... D-don't just ignore me like that... rude
Jeremiah Flores
What do you think of the current pope?
Cooper Foster
How is that not what you said? Also, could you please answer the question?
I think he is a decent man caught up in events he is not prepared for. I feel sorry for him.
I said I read the words of God and Christ (attributed directly to either.) and try to understand and live by them.I do not believe James or Paul or Levi spoke with greater authority then Christ...
You know who what when wear?
Who is speaking to whom? Why, and wear are they?
There are no longer ID's. Could you please re-ask your question? If I replied to it could you please clarify your question?
Grayson Rogers
Why aren't you a communist or a socialist? Helping the poor should be your priority, as well as loving your fellow men.
Luis Adams
Sorry this post link should have been before >"I said I read"
Jayden Sullivan
I don't identify with most of the labels. They are priorities in my life.
Owen Gomez
As an american how can you live with yourslef?
Ayden Lewis
Erm *Where....
LOL
Joshua Ward
I did not vote for Trump or Hillary.. I am not in charge...
Xavier Rivera
You pay taxes to them, even though you can leave. You're preety much saying you're only following orders. Also you should still vote for the lesser evil, unless you don't think you can make the judgment.
Bentley Torres
Pick 1 and describe how it would change your life.
Jack Nguyen
I asked you what mechanism you're using to determine what's true or not in the Bible. You didn't give me any and instead you mentioned what parts you think are true. That, to me is an arbitrary cherry picking.
My question was about your personal experience (the jail thing). If someone else with incompatible beliefs to yours had the same experience you had, would you say having their faith strengthened by the experience is justified? What I'm hinting at is that the experience you mentioned is not convincing at all to me and shouldn't be to you
Nolan Thomas
Taxes are not voluntary. Christ said give unto Cesar that which is Cesar's.
Where can I *leave* to that I will not run in to some other Government that I disagree with as well?
I am certainly not following any orders. I am voting for those who I think are most closely in sync with my particular economic and foreign policy. (course I have not voted for a winner since Regan part deux.) Lesser of evils is a cop out.. For fucks sake we were looking at the possible False Prophet verses the possible whore of Babylon.... I would never have voted Trump... I was torn between Sanders and Johnson.
Nolan Perry
Ant literature. Post bigger image.
Evan Garcia
BS I told you exactly what parts...
THOSE ATTRIBUTED DIRECTLY TO GOD OR CHRIST.
Look up "red letter editions" see if that will help you figure out that I have answered you now at least 3 times. It certainly is not cherry picking.
If I accept all ten commandments or the golden rule I am not cherry picking.
Saying don't eat lobster while wearing polyester / cotton blends would be cherry picking. (If I were a Rabbi.)
I have also answered that question about an Islamic fellow in jail. You just don't like the answer.
Sorry.
Robert Myers
It's not about taxes, it's about supporting corporations and therefore the system.
They make money off of your work, they sell you products and utilities. You are a tool to them. Don't maintain the status quo, be the change you want to be in the world.
Hunter Young
I do not work for a "Corporation".... I am very very Anti.. Didi you read any of this thread before you commented.
Hi, I am OP..
Aaron Richardson
American politicians are corrupt like hell by private firms. You will never get a government that's anything but capitalist. Don't just stand there and wait for a miracle, take action.
Jace Evans
Brother we are in the midst if the last Generation. Israel was refounded in 1948 and recaptured Jerusalem in 1967. That started the clock..
You are going to see some amazing things in your lifetime.
And all you have to do is NOT believe the first Super Natural Being that appear before the entire world. What ever it sais is a lie.
Look at that I just gave you the end game.
Quit worrying as if any of US is in control.
Do what you have to do to sleep at night.
Cooper Bailey
Fixed it
Joshua Martinez
Are you saying the world is gonna end soon? That's no excuse not to fight for a better world.
Hunter Rodriguez
>lol why try
Wyatt Price
The last one. "The Healer" I pray often for that.
I would heal people obviously. I would NOT tolerate fame. (Padre Pio, no..).
Isaiah Cooper
Solomon said that all is vanity there is nothing new under the Sun.
So I toil, and I respond to people I meet IRL.. If I am asked and can help I do.
But why would I try to change Gods plan..
Then I would be responsible for all this shit.
No, thank you, He can have it.
I'am just going to play with birdies until the moon turns red as blood.
Jacob Roberts
Capitalism is the opposite of what Jesus strived for. Saying it's "God's plan" is just an excuse not to move your arse from the armchair.
Nathaniel Diaz
>Then I would be responsible for all this shit. Not taking action makes you responsible for everthing happening currently. Just as not helping a dying man makes you responsible for his death.
Connor Watson
Death punishment? Also what's up with the amish?
Cooper Butler
What Jesus strives for is not going to happen on "this" Earth... Quick Earth Chronology: Chosen Race fails. Demons pervert the Earth. God floods Middle East.. Sends Son to teach, prophecy, and redeem. Chosen Race's Priests kill Son. Mankind is in charge of all day to day Earth operations for more than 2000 years. Screw it up further. Declare peace. Anti-Christ shows up. Most men think he is Christ or and alien and bow to him in worship.
Christ shows up. All flesh ends in the blink of an eye. Eternity lessons begin. Devil tossed in pit during lesson with dunce hat. Lessons end. Devil released one final time to try and tempt the educated you.
You make informed choice.
Final Judgment occurs. Devil and followers go to hell.
I hope that helps you out..
Connor Martinez
What? Kids debating religion on Sup Forums? No thank you.
Grayson Martinez
are these birds kissing
Parker Murphy
As I said I take action. Just not the actions YOU desire.
I am not tramping around in a protest that is true.
I help folks who ask me for help.
I don't go looking for them or trouble.
I have helped many who would have died. (I am first responder, and CPR trained though that is not my career field.
I imagine my 20 years online and chattig on boards in front of often millions probably has some small effect...
But No I am not going to become Peter Popoff or Steve Balmer, nor will I be Martin Luther King.
I am just a cog in the machine that teaches young minds to read..
So go back and feel free to be a cause-atarian (See movie PCU)
Huh?
Capital Punishment?
Eh, I refuse to sit on a Jury. I mean I respond to the summons but I am totally honest in my views and so am usually disqualified.
The Amish are the Swiss Anabaptist's in America. I have quite a bit of respect for them.
Asher Martinez
Heh.
It can be fun..
Try asking a question about the Bible that you have always wanted answered.
