I'm looking for Jack Endino - Angles of Attack (1988 Cassette release.) The Skin Yard leader and the primordial Grunge producer's first solo effort including contributions from drummer Greg Gilmore of Mother Love Bone fame. I'm looking specifically for the Endgame Records release which features exclusive bonus tracks and an exclusive Skin Yard track. I'll share the most recent version
Jack Endino - Angles of Attack (2004 Reissue) >Grunge, Space Rock
Bill Dixon - Son of Sisyphus (1990) [FLAC] >Avant-Garde Jazz, Free Jazz >One of the seminal free jazz figures, Bill Dixon made his mark as a player, organizer, and educator in a career that spanned more than 50 years. Dixon was a jaggedly lyrical trumpeter -- his delivery was as vocalic as that of any free jazz trumpeter, except perhaps Lester Bowie. As an improviser, he was somewhat similar in temperament to Ornette Coleman, yet his compositional style differed greatly from the altoist. Dixon's work featured open space, wide intervals that did not imply a specific key or mode, and dark backdrops owing to the use of two or more double bassists. His art was eminently thoughtful even as was viscerally exciting.
Jesus christ it's like they didn't even know the 90's happened. That sound was played out 20 years ago.
William Sullivan
John Carter - Castles of Ghana (1956) [320] >Avant-Garde Jazz, Free Jazz >John Carter was one of the very few free jazz players to concentrate exclusively on clarinet, and one of not very many to place an emphasis on the music's composed elements.
Muhal Richard Abrams - Mama and Daddy (1980) [FLAC] >Avant-Garde Jazz, Free Jazz >Composer, arranger, and pianist Muhal Richard Abrams is largely a self-taught musician who was deeply influenced by the bop innovations of the late Bud Powell. Abrams has been a beacon in the jazz community as a co-founder (and first president), in 1965, of Chicago's legendary vanguard music institution, the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM)
