Yeah, the problem with Dead Petz is that it's half Bangerz follow-up and half the album she wanted to make with the Flaming Lips. She really should have just made a normal album and done a more involved collab where Wayne is singing on some of the songs for the other album. Like she could have served us chocolate milk and orange juice but decided to mix them together and hand us one glass.

Okay, I listened to the tracks you posted.
Only ones I like are the chorus of Dooo It and Slab of Butter and Bang Me Box. The rest are shit IMO and the cover & subject matter of DUDE WEED LMAO TRIPPY is kind of tryhard and some songs are just cheesy

This is poptimist garbage.

BB Talk is good if you pay attention to the lyrics and the overall meaning

You know she made the album for free and had it go under her own label right. There is no (((pop))) in this album, it's all her.
Samuel Rivera
honestly one of the worst albums i've ever heard. utterly irredeemable, worse than listening to white noise, needlessly and relentlessly edgy, musically grating, and a waste of the flaming lips' talent.
Adam Nelson
Okay that one too I guess
Jace Ramirez
it's not the worst song ever but holy fuck why does the track itself just sit there and stew it itself. it's just a vessel for her halfhearted shitty vocals. literally any other vocalist could have made that song better, and the cheesy effects on the beat make it sound like shitty indie pop that fucking mac demarco shits out on a bad day

Yeah, the album is surprisingly decent (and experimental) for a pop star. I wouldn't call it amazing or anything (it's not) and Miley is definitely the weakest part of it all, but the Flaming Lips did a respectable job with the instrumentals here, for the most part.
It's really funny how when it was first released, while there were definite detractors, the album was receiving a decent amount of positive reception here on Sup Forums and the RYM rating was also surprisingly above 3. Then, Anthony released one of his most scathing reviews and it was of course for this album. Then, seemingly all of a sudden, the consensus on Sup Forums completely changed and the RYM rating began tanking. Now, it's dismissed by most. Honestly, I do believe Anthony (and Pitchfork) had a way stronger than usual effect on the reception for a release specifically here on Sup Forums and RYM. Also, the length of the album sure doesn't help. Why would someone want to listen to such a long album that is supposedly absolutely awful, right?
Regardless, while there are some bad moments, it ain't bad overall. Miley is the last pop star I'd want to be a poptimist for, but I can't deny the quality of the album. When you get past Miley's awful lyricism, it's not bad at all. I'd give it like a 6.5/10, which is good for a release from such a mainstream artist.
Ian Rodriguez
I wouldnt say Miley was a bad part of the album. She was obviously going for the Rainbows and Unicorns aesthetic, which is fine. I wouldnt call the lyrics bad, as there are some really good lines >I had a dream that you were dying >But I wasnt even crying >I just sang you to sleep >I sang you to sleep
Her vocals arent bad, as she is one of those pop stars that can actually sing (2:14 of Twinkle Song)
I just wish she cut out the bad songs that were to experimental and cut the swearing
Leo Collins
Well said, I'd give it a soft 5 out of 10. Which for Miley is impressive.
Dylan Robinson
bangerz is her best album

Back here again. I'd genuinely recommend those who are more open minded to actually check out the Miley record. If it seems just way too long, that's understandable. Listen to the following songs in order and you'll probably have a better time. :^)
1. Miley Tibetan Bowlzzz 2. Lighter 3. Something About Space Dude 4. I Get So Scared 5. Bang Me Box 6. Tangerine 7. Karen Don't Be Sad 8. Cyrus Skies 9. The Floyd Song (Sunrise)
You're right that she can sing, but she definitely has some spotty parts with regard to her vocal performances. She goes out of key in certain songs. It isn't often though. I do agree that the swearing is annoying.
Yeah, it's impressive. I finished listening to the whole album again actually and I'd probably give it just a flat 6/10 instead, but still, it's definitely not bad.
Brandon Stewart
I really like Fweaky but no one mentioned it :'(

Wayne Coyne is a washed up hack going through an embarrassing midlife crisis
William Reyes
NOT GOOD
Grayson Gomez
It should have been 1/3rd the length, but it was above average for pop music if you're into trashy, cartoony sounding shit (which I am)
