Who won the battle of the Bonds?

Now that the dust has settled... which one was the superior 1983 Bond film?

Octopussy or Never Say Never Again?

both were shit

Kim Basinger>Maud Adams

Maud Adams was a far better Bond girl, and she had good chemistry with Roger Moore unlike Basinger and Connery.

Never Say Never Again is utter garbage. Octopussy is simply mediocre fare with a few glaring missteps, like dressing up Bond as a clown.

the Octopussy character was shit

I thought she was one of the few good things in the movie

Octopussy.

How is this even a question?

Lol what, how do you get another movie 3 months later?

Kevin McClory won a lawsuit giving him the rights to remake Thunderball. He released Never Say Never Again to directly compete with the official Eon film Octopussy.

is NSNA canon?

No.

Why?

There are only 20 canon Bond films.

Craig IS Bond

hard reboot means new continuity, new canon. The Craig films are part of a different series, that's what a reboot is. You can't have your cake and eat it too, Craigbabby

> Now that the dust has settled...
The first time this meme is legitimately appropriate

Octopussy is a fine movie. People are way too hard on it. Never Say Never Again is a disgrace. Connery should have left well enough alone with Diamonds Are Forever.

>tfw Roger Moore is my favorite Bond

Agreed, he should have stuck to his words of "Never Again."

He's easily in the top two. I never understood the hate. Must be Craig kids who think Bond is supposed to be super serious.

Perfectly acceptable

In fact I've found that the more into James Bond a person is, the more they like Roger Moore. People who aren't really into the franchise or particularly knowledgeable about it tend to be the ones who hate him, and they are also the ones who typically think Craig is the best Bond and Casino Royale is the best Bond film. In other words, plebs

what's wrong with Casino Royale?

It simply isn't a Bond film.

ok

Roger Moore is my favorite Bond, but I like Casino Royale too. It's probably the closest you can get to grounding the series without losing its identity. And it's an origin story, so i found it acceptable. The less said about Quantum the better.

It's a terrible movie. It has the worst poker scene in cinematic history (some magical fairy tale version of Texas Holdem that has no logic to it) it also has a mediocre villain, an unlikable Bond girl, and Craig is just wrong for the role. He looks and acts more like a henchman in a Bond film than Bond himself, and has no charm whatsoever.

Don't get me started on the action setpieces that seem like they're ripped straight of a Bourne Movie, or the B&W cold open that screams "we high art now." Making Bond into something gritty was a mistake

And before the inevitable fan says something about "it's closer to the books tho!" being closer to the books doesn't make it good by default, and Craig's Bond actually has very few similarities with Fleming's.

>some magical fairy tale version of Texas Holdem that has no logic to it

That pissed me off. Bond has ALWAYS played Baccarat, and changing it to a fad card game was like a slap in the face to fans. Just one of a few dozen Bond tropes they decided to completely throw out the window.

It's a literal remake of Thunderball not produced by Eon, the company that makes the "canon" Bond films.

Casino Royale was good since mostly all Bond films are shit/medicore

>the people defending craig don't even like bond films in the first place

Every.Single.Time.

i only liked CR from the Craig fims
