Rate my past week

you're welcome. and that's cool! i'm from the us. i also checked out stuff from pernadas' label/related acts like minta & the brook trout, and golden slumbers. i like the limited amount of portuguese music i've heard (its a lot of times tough to find torrents of it, though, which kinda sucks) so do you have any more recs from your country?

I just redid mine.
Heeeeyyyy! I really like your taste, man. You might like Dismemberment Plan - Emergency and I
You probably already have, but you should give People Who Can Eat People by Andrew Jackson Jihad a listen. Also Divorce Lawyers, I Shaved My Head by Jordaan Mason and the Horse Museum.
caP'n Jazz - Analphabetapolothology
>Dancing is depressing
Good stuff, my mans. If you liked Mayhem, you might like Peste Noire
You might like Cream - Disraeli Gears or Elvis Depressedly - Goner

Glad you like my taste, man! Happy to see other people in here digging on Say Anything. I like a lot of stuff on your chart too.

Here's a few albums you might dig

The Arrogant Sons Of Bitches - Three Cheers For Disappointment
Harley Poe - Satan, Sex & No Regrets
Jank - Versace Summer
Maximum The Hormone - Buiiikikaesu

adam said galore too, maybe

It's less lazy because I gave a couple people a response. It's just etiquette mate.

it's literally useless but okay, keep regurgitating into the void if it makes you feel better

Jangle pop

The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic
The La's - The La's

how often do you guys actually listen to the recs you receive on these threads?

always

maybe 1/10 recommendations
it's worse lately because people just recommend Sup Forumscore so they don't look lazy

...

I put it in my long, long list of things to listen to. Sometimes I get to them, some of them are still sitting on that list.

I think they mean the recommendations you havent already heard

1/7 probably
i'd listen to more if my backlog wasn't so anxiety-inducingly large already

i need recs

skeletal lamping is GOAT.
the drums - portamento

that atoms for peace album is underrated

Micachu - Jewellery

This entire thread is usless you stupid fuck. But the point isn't just to post your chart, it's to provide some sort of feedback to people about where you agree/what you'd recommend to them. I didn't offer much but at least I did something that contributed in a small way to the thread.

oh really nice! I'm very glad that someone out of portugal knows bruno pernadas. even I haven't listen to those other bands.
i strongly recommend both sensible soccers' albums "8" and " villa soledade". it's like modern progressive eletronic, with a BoC feel sometimes. if you like them, check also gala drop.
jose cid - 10000 anos depois entre venus e marte, for some prog rock from the 70's
fausto - por este rio acima. it's like progressive folk mixed with traditional portuguese music.
b fachada - b fachada (2014) (folk pop)
Black Bombaim & Peter Brötzmann - s/t (heavy psych and stoner rock with free jazz)
ok... i will recommend you sam the kid - (pratica)mente, but since it's hip hop it can be stupid for you to listen

wow, I'm already extending myself, so let me know if you like or not of any of these albums.

Also the new Kero Kero Bonito Album

The Ascension by Glenn Branca
No Now

do you genuinely believe anyone gives a shit when you
>++++++
an album they already know they like?
i roll my eyes every time i see this lol
you contributed nothing except hypocritical insults to two other posters so yeah, good job

recommend or don't, sometimes you don't feel like it and that's fine. don't feel obligated to populate an already static-filled board with meaningless noise

Maybe you'll like WWW and Saul Williams
Maybe you'll like Catherine Ribiero + Alpes
Maybe you'll like Junko Ohashi

jeez this is going to be a bunch to listen to, thanks so much! really excited for all this! another band i i really like that i just remembered are portuguese is capitao fausto, this song of theirs is awesome (sort of a real estate vibe)
youtube.com/watch?v=cJDCdhnupeI

how does it compare to king of the beach, i remember not really enjoying it

hey, it's going well in that i'm working hard and enjoying having and saving money. but i'm struggling with getting back to the good habits that i maintained while i was a neet (frequent volunteering and running). thanks for asking btw

plebeian

>The Ascension by Glenn Branca

awesome dude! i love them too, but I totally forgot haha. they are really trendy over here. that album is my favourite from them. the other ones are fine too, a bit more tame impala-ish.

there's a lot more but I didn´t want to bother you. but here I go now:
linda martini for some post-rock that seems inspired by sonic youth: youtube.com/watch?v=l2MttKTJhf4

holy nothing for some indietronica (they have in fact performed on a american festival):

i downloaded your chart to listen to new albums and to recognize you in other threads. hope you don't mind haha

It's annoying that I've been in the game so long that I start to recognize all of the artists on everyones charts. I really only come to these threads to find the occasional chart that has a ton of albums that I've never heard of and then download them all off of soulseek. It's the best way to find weird experimental music, ambient, exotic weird folk, etc. I know my chart isn't really anything special (not to you anyways, it's just a bunch of albums which have been special to me).

You really start to get a sense of which albums are perpetuated through social media by the amount that you see certain artists repeated. Idk why but it just gives me a really bad taste in my mouth, seeing some of the artists that people listen to just reiterated again and again in everyone's chart. I mean, there's so much music out there in the world. I'm not putting every weird and obscure thing on my chart that I find, I do like some popular music (as you can see a lot of what's on my chart is popular music, but it also has some weird rare stuff).

I think it shows when there's a person who doesn't look into music that hard and just has really basic taste. I shouldn't even call it taste, I should say, they have a really lazy ethic for finding music.

are you fucking retarded? do you not see the other three albums?

Why is your taste so boring then?

Or maybe, just throwing this out there, it's hard to balance finding new music, listening to music you already like, and you know... all the other shit you have to do as a human being. You realize not everyone can sit around listening to music all day, right? I mean yes, the charts in this thread are pure garbage, but that doesn't mean that the people who made them don't care about music. And no, they didn't find these albums on "social media" because despite them being pretty entry level, you still need to go slightly out of your way to find them. Do you think the average normie on social media knows about Loveless? How about Spiderland or Trout Mask Replica? Most of them have probably never even heard of Neutral Milk Hotel.

The only reason someone would be on Sup Forums would be if they actually had a desire to find music that isn't force fed to them by the radio/youtube. It is not right to classify everyone as lazy because they have basic taste. Developing taste takes a long time, especially if you have a busy life. So fuck off with your condescending and narcissistic remarks, why don't ya?

>really lazy ethic for finding music
or some of us don't have the time to listen to a whole bunch of obscure shit to find some gems. there's a reason why certain bands become popular, they're generally better than the bands that stay in obscurity.

>or some of us don't have the time to listen to a whole bunch of obscure shit to find some gem
Then don't come to a music board.

You used to be such a good trip. What went wrong?

How am I doing lads?

If you waste your time listening to endless amounts of mediocre obscure music instead of developing your appreciation for the music you already listen to, you don't actually have an interest in music, you have an obsession with "taste".

Either that or you're a pleb who only listens to shallow, vapid music that doesn't stand up to repeated listens.

b-but how does my behavior differ from before? i could be oblivious but i don't feel like much has changed...

Assumptions galore. I find interesting obscure music and take the time to listen to it. Leave.

pretty pleb but who am I to talk

+Hella
+correct Beatles choice

Check out the new Alex G if you haven't yet

codeine is good to listen to on codeine

Haha ebic

This chart is a bit dated, but whatever
maybe you will like Armchair Boogie by Michael Hurley. As you can see by my chart it is one of my favorites.
i like your taste. Do you visit rym often? I am not trying to be a prick, but I am actually curious, because i have found much cooler stuff on there than i ever have on /mu.

+++++++Revolver

Honestly in need of recs, this was more of a 4x4 of last week than anything, really.

the Hotelier

this might be the most tryhard list I've ever seen

Seriously guys, should be AOTY. Check it out if you haven't heard it

Sorry, I just really enjoy listening to things that sound different and unique to me, which results in me seeming pretentious because most of it is hipster shit i find online on rym and blogs.

>apologizing for your taste in music

Don't. You shouldn't let people make you feel bad about what you like user.

Naw, don't be sorry. I have some friends into similarly obscure different stuff, this list is just very thoroughly that. I dig it but I don't even know where to start. Kudos.

Posting. I honestly couldn't think of any recs for the recent charts with any confidence

assuming you're already into Pavement

but Pavement
