Hey Sup Forumsros who here hunts and has a license to carry a gun?
> Be 22 > Total liberal, white priviledge, papmpered suburban kid > Dad is a Vietnam vet and is always taking my younger brother hunting > I want to go with them but I have never fired a gun let alone held on to one > I don't know where to go to get my license to carry a gun and to be quite frank I don't know what sort of gun I would have to purchase. They hunt for deer. > I do not know why I am such a beta faggot
What type of gun should I purchase and when I go to get my license is it like going to get your drivers license?
It really depend on what state you live in. Every state has their own gun laws.
Nicholas Hall
the hell does your race or political opinion have to do with hunting? twat
Josiah Parker
>I do not know why I am such a beta faggot You literally wrote why. >Total liberal
Kevin Brooks
Go with a Magnum PI.
Ryder Gomez
Step one: Stop being such a beta nigger faggot
Step two: Tell father you want to go with him the next time they hunt.
Step three: profit??????

Sebastian Bell
Simple, ask you father. Im sure he would be stoked to help you finally act like a man for once in your life. He's probably tired of telling his friends you're his step son instead of telling them that you're his.
Liam Evans
Seriously, just tell your dad you want to go with them. They'll more than likely be happy to help you through the process of getting licensed and finding the right tool to use.
Xavier Brooks
AR 15 faggot
Brandon Fisher
depends on where you live, but the majority of states do not require a license to own a firearm. just 18 to buy and own a rifle and 21 to buy and own a handgun.
Justin Bailey
We require the name of the state you reside in to proceed to the requirments for owning a firearm and a carry permit
Adam Cruz
You're hunting deer so you want a decent sized calibre (I'm assuming you're famIlya prefers rifles) If you're going with a shot gun which I guess I get but eh get a real gun. Just grab a 12 guage some buck shot and slugs. If you're going for a rifle get something like a .308 or .338 if you're a big boy. Very popular rounds for big game hunting. Also getc something that can atleast shoot 2 rounds consecutively without having to cock or reload. Your aims most likely going to be shit if you've never shot so that 2nd trigger pull can be handy
Matthew Carter
Unless you live somewhere like California you won't need anything to own a gun. For a total boob I would suggest going to a gun store and finding an affordable .223 bolt action rifle. You might be able to find one with optics on it already, if not you might be able to sweet-talk them into installing some for you if you buy them. >Get some cheap fmj target ammo for practice, and a box of lead nosed bullets for hunting >schedule yourself for a hunter safety course, just google how >go to a gun range and sight in your rifle, the people there might show you how, if not I bet there's tutorials on YouTube >practice your shooting, and after you get your hunter safety card you can buy a deer tag to go hunting >??? >profit Also remember to get stuff to clean and maintain your rifle and also get some camo clothes >don't forget your orange

Also if you're really on a budget just get a mosin and practice those iron sight skills
Lucas Bailey
maybe ask your dad?
Charles Bennett
Must be heartbreaking to be your father. Can you imagine when youngest was born how happy he was to have 2 hunting buddies for life. One takes to it the other turns into a liberal Anti-fa who exclusively faps to cuck porn and hates his own race while youngest and dad enjoy sun rises and shore breakfast together. Dad probably talks about you to him. Feels more connected to youngest. Youngest is probably depressed cuz older kids at school talk about the cool shit their older brothers are into. He gets stuck with you. Probably claims youre only a half brother or adopted. Youngest brother probably lays in bed at night day dreaming of having awesome older brother to do hunting adventures and shenanigans with. Father probably fights back tears as oldest rants about sjw tier shit and dyes hair like gay rainbow. Father cant understand what he did wrong. Blames himself for your weird shit. Spirals deeper into secret depression. Fights back tears every time you leave the room. Fuck you for hurting the man who wanted to love you on a level you cant comprehend user.
Justin Gomez
I go hunting with my old man and a mate of his every month. Started off with pest control, shooting Hares on this blokes farmland, then as I got older, progressed into Deer. Good fun.
Benjamin Walker
>license to carry a gun What kind of communist country do you live in?
Jason Brown
>budget just get a mosin You fuckin around? It's $1.15 per round for 7.62x54r
Jaxson Cook
>Unless you live somewhere like California you won't need anything to own a gun. You don't need anything to own a gun in California. No state in the US requires a licence to buy a firearm. OP must be Canadian or some shit.
Colton Rogers
Yeah, but it's all restricted and shit there You also won't have to buy extra ammo to sight in optics, just a box of like 30. Also don't pull that $1 per bullet shit with me, I bought an arisaka at a gun show last year, do you even know how much 6.5jap costs? Like at least 2 bucks a round, I spent 100 on the rifle and then had to turn around and pay like $40 for a box of 20 shells just to use the thing.
Matthew Hill
>You also won't have to buy extra ammo to sight in optics, just a box of like 30. Oh yeah this is for hunting. I was thinking he was just going out target shooting. >Also don't pull that $1 per bullet shit with me, I bought an arisaka at a gun show last year, do you even know how much 6.5jap costs? Like at least 2 bucks a round I have a .338 lapua, for decent ammo I'm paying $5 a round.
Mason Evans
>decent ammo Dood, it's $2 a shot for just plain box fmj of 6.5jap But $5 a shot in .338 is probably worth the price at 500+ yards
Sebastian Hernandez
.338 Lapua is worth it at any distance
Eli Lee
I take it back. OP has never shot he should probably start on a .300 win mag or something. I don't think he'll be shooting 400+
Robert Fisher
Meh, I don't do any sport shooting, so 30'06 is good enough for me.
Elijah Jones
I live in norway and guns are hard to get. I got this becous i also have a hunting license. I have never hunted tho. I was going to but I need a rifle to do Reindeer hunting. but I got laid of and hunting rifles and hunting is expensive.
Anthony Martin
Can't you just use slugs?
Henry Green
>slugs/buckshot >shoot it on private property and butcher yourself?
Adrian Sullivan
Hey 30'06 is still a great round even for consistent long range stuff. 500-600yards or so you're cruising
Kayden Flores
No my gun is to old and shity. and is has too much built in choke.
Xavier Hughes
Why don't you ask him? Tell him you're interested in maybe joining them the upcoming season? If he enjoys hunting with your younger brother he would probably be overjoyed at your interest.
Look up your state's forest and game/wildlife/fish management agency, they will have instructions on their site as to how to find a hunter's education course in order to get a hunting license which is required to hunt most game even if a category of game does not require permits. They should teach you how to safely handle a firearm and some basic hunting topics then test you on knowledge. Some states include a brief live fire portion, some don't. I think I fired a 410 shotgun and a 22lr rifle during my certification. fws.gov/offices/statelinks.html
An ideal first rifle for developing good fundamentals is a 22lr rifle. It's not what people usually want to hear but it is the honest truth. You can usually pick up a Ruger 10/22 with a scope package for around $300 new. If you can afford to spare the time, buy a few bricks of ammo and attend an Appleseed event, they will teach you a great deal about rifle proficiency for a very low price. appleseedinfo.org/
Do you mean license to carry a concealed weapon? Because that is a large responsibility and should not be undertaken lightly or without a healthy degree of respect for life, firearms, and at least a functioninal knowledge of self defense law in your state. Permit requirements vary heavily by state from a simple background check up to mandatory live fire courses. youtube.com/watch?v=-j4PS_8R5IE
No shit? I'm just over in Sumner. They offer a hunter's education course at the Sumner Sporting Association, or at least did in the past.

Hunting is over rated.. why kill living things.. cried like a bitch the first time i killed a animal with a gun. Why????
Grayson Scott
That's a bummer. I was proud but a little conflicted. My shot only winged the grouse and I wasn't strong enough to whip-snap it's neck so I had to stand on it until it died. Once we cooked it up and ate it I felt better and was left with a much larger respect for making ethical shots.
One thing you have to realize is that farm raised animals spend much of their existence in misery, as long as you aren't being an asshole while you are harvesting game it's morally equal at worst to buying meat in a grocery store.

Lies.
I live in Commiefonia and know for a fact that they make you take a quick "gun safety test" right at the register before you can buy any firearm

>I live in Commiefonia and know for a fact that they make you take a quick "gun safety test" right at the register before you can buy any firearm I never have(I also live in California) and I have purchased several dozen firearms over the last 10 years.

IMO. Hunting for food is the most noble reason to have a gun. Defense is the second. Feeding one's family should be the only reason to hunt. >Thou shalt eat what thou kills. That should be a universal law - maybe even prevent some murders. The most base use of a gun is sport hunting. Sport hunters should die by fire. They are immoral and dangerous to any society. Killing for fun should be universally illegal everywhere.
Americas first founders left England to get away from an oppressive king. Yet here we are today, dealing with the same "kings fish, kings game, kings woods" bullshit our ancestors fought a war to get rid of. We let our own govt. cuck us all over again.

Nothing wrong with that. It's just not a noble thing - like feeding your family. And you're not killing for fun. So you're not ignoble either.

There's no one size fits all hunting rifle (at least we keep telling ourselves that whenever we buy a new one).
What you should get depends on several things, but first of all – what's your budget?

This. Your dad will probably be proud of you not being a faggot and have fun bonding time teaching you shooting and cleaning a gun.
If you do go, don't worry about the flinch first time shooting, everyone does it. Just go do it, even just shooting a gun let alone an animal is super exciting and gets the adrenaline pumping.

I have guns and stuff but I hate the bullshit hoops I have to go through to get new ones / liscencing fees / cops randomly showing up at my house to inspect safe.
If I'm a permanent resident in the states (but not a citizen) can I buy and own guns?
Wouldn't want to move just for guns, this whole country is literally Cuckralia and the US Constitution gives me a hardon.

Invest is a .308 bolt action, and a decent scope. at least 4x32.
Get in a bit of target practice on the range first, I cannot stress enough how much I wouldn't recommend going out without familiarizing yourself with your rifle. No point ruining the trip, ruining the carcass, or wounding a deer you couldn't kill clean.
You don't need anything bigger than a .308 if you're hunting deer, I usually use 25-06, it's a wildcat of 30-06. But really, there's no use making it more complicated and expensive than it has to be. .308 Winchester is good enough, cheap enough, common enough.
Being that you're new to it, you probably shouldn't be shooting at anything over 200 yards, but anything over 100-150 is still a bit ambitious for someone without any experience.
Again, talk to your father about it and he'll set you up with the info you need.
Nolan Perry
