80's jazz would like to have a word with you
Except this album is still fantastic
...
good one
...
Eh, innovative and unique electronic music can sound timeless. MHtRtC could have been released today, and it would still sound fresh.

:l 16 years and still gud
>when you realize 16 years ago was 2001
Holy fuck
This music is really nice to have with that crippling realization though
we're gonna have 00's kids memes soon XD.
Are you trying to say this album ain't good user? What are you, a faggot?
id say hip hop ages the worst, because of how prevalent pop-culture references and general trendiness that is associated with the genre. plus the always evolving usage of slang.

I made a photoshooped plantasia cover mixed with Sup Forums. it said 4chanasia on it and stuff. I can't find it in the archive or on my computer.
Did anyone save it? It was in a thread about changing the sticky's image I think
I was reading something about how, originality is dead because capitalism won the cold war.
In the past electronic music felt like a futuristic music. It was even used in tv shows and movies as futuristic music.
But now electronic music is dull, normalized, its the music of the present.
And i agree with that other poster that rap ages the worst.
Look at odd future, came out a couple of years ago and people are already cringing about why they liked that immature crap.
As an artist you should also know that pop culture references will age your art like nothing else.
Art needs to be about emotions, thats why the beatles can travel through time, all their music is about love.
HAHAHAHAHAH
If rap ages so badly, then why do people still love biggie/Tupac/NWA/Snoop ECT ECT?
>that said, I haven't listened to anything that wasn't cool when I was 14.
a love song ages better than a rap song about a brand name product or how you woke up in a new buggati.
In the future people will still fall in love, in the future will buggatis even exist
>every single artist's music is affected by the grip of capitalism
>this was not a thing in the mid 20th century
There is something wrong with every single line in this post lmao
Are you fucking serious, Kraftwerk have aged like milk.
man, even rap fans dont listen to old rap
You are just implying things i never said.
Rap is the most disgusting hyper capitalist music known to man.
All they talk about is the material possessions they can acquire.
>Producer makes techno or hip hop track
>Contains Japanese drum machine samples from 35 years ago
Every fucking time
Love that album too
I just heard this for the first time yesterday and thought it was amazing and was psyched to see a discussion on it before I realized it was just OP collecting (you)s.
Maybe you just don't like synthesizers unless it's tacky detuned supersaw VST shit?
fuck you plantasia is amazing
bitch
Kill yourself.
this is a classic boy. Suck a dick.
>implying teen catered hiphop like odd future is representative of the whole genre
and my chemical romance is why emo doesn't age well am i right
Are fucking serious? That album is literally timeless
you just proved yourself wrong idiot haha
electronic music reached its zenith with Xenakis
>originality is dead because capitalism won the cold war.
use yur noggin m8, if communism won the cold war, liberty would be dead. Without that freedom, you can't create.
>But now electronic music is dull, normalized, its the music of the present.
incredibly narrow view.
>all their music is about love
not true
youtube.com
uhm ok sweetie.

my chemical romance is way better than odd future, people only hated them because of their fans.
In retrospect mcr were actually pretty good and it was like they fused cheap trick with the misfits.
You can date it by some methods, but that just shows that electronic music is far from stagnating. Something like this is very 50s/60s, but still incredibly fresh.
You think this album sounds aged?
KILL YOUR SELF.
Just listened to this album, can't believe this loser mort guy ripped off all nintendo games songs
>Die Roboter
>not still the coolest song ever
true
That's probably the worst music video I have seen
shit, sorry, I didn't even watch it, just linked it because of the song. my bad
but the club tunes from the late 80s and early 90s have not aged one bit and they still get blasted in clubs around the world. And people go nuts
are you expecting musicians to now predict the future or something?

>1958
>sounds more progressive and forward thinking than 99% of electronic music these days
Like?
I know, I tried Run DMC the other day, sounded so dated lol
It's too forward thinking, even. Anyone can forward-think like this.. tss
