My dad pretty much introduced me to southern rock as a whole.

Ironic, considering he grew up in Massachusetts.

Pic related is his favorite band.

He also has outstanding taste in Jazz.

my dad witnessed Space Ritual
he fucking WITNESSED it

...

Tough one, my old man digs some cool shit... Replacements, I guess?

Very nice. If this was a "best band your mom listens to" thread, I'd have posted that exact pic.

>mfw falling asleep to Mountain Jam after a long day's work

Everyone in mass pretends to be southern so that makes sense

Funny, my Dad and I are actually going to see Tool together in June.

KISS. KISS is the perfect cock rock band. The entire decade of the 80s just felt like bands trying to immitate them without the balls to go as over the top as they did. And Paul Stanley is unironically a great frontman. Fucking killer voice, competent guitar playing, all while doing crazy ass jumps in giant ass heels. KISS is so fucking stupid it's cool.

Rancid

Funny you should say that, because I was born in Mass as well (Springfield), but I was basically raised in South Florida for 20 years and just moved back up north for a job (Cleveland).

Florida is the worst state in the Union fyi.

you wouldn't happen to make electronic music, would you?

Cool shit user, my dad and uncle saw KISS live in '84 and I'm jealous as fuck.

Depeche Mode.

this algo genesis and rush

At least he can form a competent sentence.

Do I have a brother I don't know about?

pink floyd, creedence clearwater revival, alan parsons project

DEVO

Dad skipped my first birthday to go see Nine Inch Nails Hate '90 tour.

Now he listens to Led Zepplin, AC/DC and Van Halen.

tfw my dad seen Zeppelin,Pink Floyd,Dire Straits and Rory Gallagher in their prime
he has decent taste in blues rock and some good taste in entry level prog

I'm the one who got him into it.

...

bauhaus too

my dad doesn't listen to music and i've always wondered if it's a symptom of some deeply buried mental illness or disorder. just listens to audiobooks

My "dad" doesn't listen to "music," he listens to jazz.

>He's 65
Probably Simon and Garfunkel or Dire straits
He has original brothers in arms album and the beatles white album

The rest is Australian country stuff.

Mum's side of the family has great taste. Everyone plays guitar, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple are their favourites

Scorpion - Wind of Change

Probably Pink Floyd, shit Led Zep has some cool stuff too actually.

You know that classic rock station in your town? He listens to that and only that basically.

My dad exclusively listens to 80's hair metal and rarely he will listen to 'gimmick metal' (that's what I call it, I don't know its name. But essentially metal bands that have some gimmick like Baby Metal).

Guns N Roses is probably the best out of all that shite, but he very rarely listens to them and prefers Motley Crue or someshit.

The Velvet Underground
>tfw he introduced me to some Sup Forumscore before I found out about Sup Forums

...

My dad mostly listens to classic pop radio. Jams out to guns n roses and belinda carlisle all the same.

I talked about Yes songs that aren't the obvious ones and he knew what they were so I'm assuming he likes Yes at least a little bit.

'Straits. He also listens to Cohen and some ex-Yu bands like Bijelo Dugme, Zabranjeno PuĊĦenje, Parni Valjak etc.

My father doesn't listen to "bands".

a real hero

...

...

I'm going to a John Fogerty concert with my dad, should be fun.

The Police/Sting, Dire Straits, Santana, the Beatles and local stuff usually

he always used to play tingler in the car

Talk Talk

...

...

AND I'M NOT GONNA LET EM CATCH ME LORD

NOT GONNA LET EM CATCH THE MIDNIGHT RIDER

He prefers styles of punk, post-punk, etc, but he's gotten into pretty much every acclaimed rock band in recent years that I've shown him

Unironically CCR

I remember hating Tom Waits when I was like 7 and now I'm appreciative of my dad introducing me to this.

This is essential quality dadcore

The moody blues

>tfw my dad is more patrish than most of you
