For instance scarface was a huge piece of shit to me.

> No Baseketball
> No Pirates Stagnetti's Return
> No Avatar

Pleb

Scarface is INCREDIBLY overrated.
From Dusk till Dawn is HALF a great movie.
Natural Born Killers is a selfindulgent circle jerk.

The rest if this list is at least marginally defensible.

cringe af

Avatar? Rule 34 space pocahontas? THAT'S top tier to you?

>falling for incredibly obvious Sup Forums bait

ishgyddt

Well I was talking about the other one but that was a pretty sweet movie too

OP here

Remember that was not me that creat that list WAS Sup Forums,so don't blame me,put the fault in this piece of shit board.

At this point in time, for a person to enjoy old movies they have to be kind of a movie buff as well as a bit of a history buff. We're fully aware of the state of society at this time, so when we watch movies now they make sense to us on that level. To enjoy a movie from a different era, a person's gotta put in a bit of work to understand that era.

It's totally normal not to like old movies.

So, when is your birthday? You're 15 right? I can tell you are a total douche bag idiot by your list. Seriously, stop trying to impress people and just like what you like. I am shocked you forgot to put Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction. You probably felt you had to have some Tarentino but those two were too mainstream - better add one that is a bit of an oddball.

You probably love romantic comedies and twighlight and shit like that. Embrace it. You list is shit and you're fake as fuck. If it is real, you have shit taste.

>1-Scarface

I think you are a faggot that has never seen the original Scarface and you don't know what you are talking about.

1. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou
2. The Truman Show
3. The Godfather
4. Tremors
5. Ghostbusters
6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
7. The Empire Strikes Back
8. The Last Crusade
9. The Silence of the Lambs
10. The Shining

This

That's some nice bait mate.

Holy shit - we've found the king of autism here. Is this a cringe thread? I am not sure what is worst. The list, the categories, or the fact that you are trying to show off on an anonymous board.

I thought it was Rule 34 Space Dances With Wolves? Now I'm confused.

sheeeeit on friday i watched scarface for the first time and i watched apocalypse now after

no shit, 黒い河 is my number 1 film too

ITT: Guys who think entirely too much of themselves and try to make something simple sounds absurdly complicated.

Fuck off with this shit. You don't need to study history to appreciate a good film. That is just for pretentious fucks that like to make themselves feel better by knowing more about something that the rest. Kind of like the idiot that buys a $500 HDMI cable because he thinks it makes the movie look/sound better

Your list sounds more legit. Still, some things here are shit. Tremors, Eternal Sunshine, Last Crusade - what the fuck.

>HDMI cable
Who the fuck still uses hdmi?

THE GOD FATHER!???!?!??

...

1 The Mask
2 Pulp Fiction
2' Fight Club
No particular order now
4 Gone Girl
5 The Lion King
6 La cité de la Peur
7 Howl's Moving Castle
8 Rock'n'Rolla
9 Ace Ventura
10 Kick Ass

Maybe not the most profound film ever, but i can watch them again and again without getting tired

Teenagers. Never know when to keep their mouths shut. Think they are saying something smart or insightful, not realizing how they are just coming across as ignorant and childish.

Man, I hope I wasn't like that when I was 16.

To appreciate a good *old* film? Scarface came out before most of us were born, before the internet became mainstream, before most of the technologies we use daily became mainstream. I'm not saying a person has to study history to understand that context, but at the same time it's not going to exhibit the kinds of topics, or present them in the ways that we're used to. Media has changed a lot. It's certainly not going to tell jokes/transition scenes/develop the story in the same ways we see in popular movies today.

I don't study history, in fact I'm using this as an excuse as to why I don't like old films. They don't speak to me because they were made for a different audience.

These are the movies I enjoy and can watch anytime without being bored.
Tremors is a perfect film even if it has a low budget.
Eternal Sunshine is a fantastic film that I saw with a girlfriend I'll never forget.
The Last Crusade is my favorite of the trilogy and one of the last good action movies made.

>All American films

Kill yourself, my man.

are we talking about art or capitalism?

ITT: We guess people's age based on their list. You see, your list would tell me you might be older because you have ventura, pulp, and mask, but you are probably the youngest of 3, about 25 years old, and some of those you watched with because your older siblings passed them on to you.

1. High school musical
2. High School musical 2
3. High School musical 3

That is all.

Dude that's not like, Jim Carrey's The Mask, right? I love me some Jim Carrey in small doses but that movie was shit

scarface #1 LOL

you're a moron. Btw, all these shit heads love Scarface. Carlito's Way is a much better movie.

This is a list someone might come up with from a random movie generator. The Mask and Ace Ventura are fantastic films. Everything else on your list is average or below.

ew

>Kill yourself, my man.
I'm sorry that I'm not a faggot :)

Clearly you are talking out of your ass so it really doesn't matter what the topic or point of reference.

reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/4c4ftw/what_is_the_meaning_of_kinography_or_kino_as_used/

Dusk till dawn was shit. The only good part of that movie was the beginning that set up the story of the bank robber brothers. Once it went into the vampire shit I lost interest completely.

1) Goodfellas
2) The Godfather (1)
3) Jaws
4) The Sandlot
5) Silence of the Lambs
6) The Godfather (2)
7) A Bronx tale
8) True Grit
9) Happy Gilmore
10) Star Wars EP 7

Just my personal opinion

Just

28 actually, and the oldest in the family. But you were close, older friends for some.
Of course Jim Carrey's Mask, but i love him so i'm not objective

I do too though. I keep wishing they'd bring Ace Ventura back just for the lulz

In no particular order

Requiem for a Dream
Memento
Dr Strangelove
Cementerio de Elefantes
Reservoir Dogs
A new Hope
Pan's Labyrinth
The usual Suspects
Seven
Amélie

Some hits. Lots of misses. You must be....17?

It's hard though, i wish i thought about one or two sad/deep movies like Eternal Sunshine, but life is sad enough as it is, i prefer to remember happy movies

hard to be a god
singapore sling
stalker
come and see

fav noncaps

Does your family know you are gay?

19.. again just my personal taste. Love Mafia and crime films. If i could I'd put all 10 as them but then i'd get my shit roasted

just wanted to say that last night i watched 'zero dark thirty', it was really good
the other night i watched 'k-19 the widowmaker', also fucking excellent

both directed by kathryn bigelow, neither would be in my top ten though.

no order
star wars episode 6
momento
inception
the shinning
citizen kane
scarface
resivour dogs
terminator 2
ggod bad and ugly

How come Amélie (i suppose Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain) is so famous worldwide (i suppose you are not french)? It's good ok but i didn't find it that memorable

You are like that guy in Tropic thunder, talking about the movie industry while their walking through the jungle, and nobody is listening until RDJ realizes he's been talking to him the whole time. What the F are you talking about? We know you like to say things that you think make you look good, but what is this all about? Did your parents not pay enough attention to you when you were a child?

Man, I am hitting pretty close. Not on the nail but definitely I am on the board.

What made you guess what you guessed?

You are in your 30's. I am going to say, 36. Terminator 2 is the one that is giving it away.

the reference to tropic thunder made it even worse. im outa here. gn8

Swap out Reservoir Dogs for Pulp Fiction and I really like this list.

you're giveaway was Episode 7.

Witnessed!

Somewhere near top of list

Coraline
Memento
Lion King
Ratatouille

Somewhere in middle

Primer
Ace Ventura
Jacob's Ladder
Ronal The Barbarian
How To Train Your Dragon

Somewhere at bottom

Bolt
The Babadook
Dazed & Confused
The Taking of Deborah Logan

Yes I'm probably gay. Also missing a lot probably because I don't have my movie list at hand

ehh. It was a 3 way tie between episode 3 5 and 7

Somebody's feelings were hurt.

Jesus you're probably 22 or under hipster faggot. What a shitty addition to this thread.

No go watch Ben 10 you shitter

See you are trickier. Part of me wants to say 21, the other part thinks younger. Maybe as young as 16. I am going to go with 16.

yeah, but you picked 7.

no way 22. I am sticking with 16

Why can't I just be older and mentally challenged instead

any kubrick film is top tier

ooh ooh can you guess my age next?
one of my favorite movies is apocalypse now and i thought full metal jacket was a shit movie

>Ctrl + f
>No Shawshank redemption
Kill yourselves
All of you

Spring Breakers

That was a shit movie

>any kubrick film is top tier
Space Odyssey was a boring pile of shit but I agree about his other films

>Clockwork Orange
Aaaaand you're out.

no way buddy you are 16. No mental challenge for you

Meeeh, good but not top10 good

Which part of FMJ did you think was shit? The first 45min of boot camp? Or when they are in the shit?

Okay den. Wait that means I can fuck teens again

You're golden. go for it. any questions just show them your list.

I never understood the fascination with that movie other than being a bit of a softcore porn

Shawshank redemption

Braveheart

Stand by me

Goonies

The patriot

Goodwill hunting

Idk

Idk

Idk

Idk

I will, thanks for the advice mister

Not him but the part in the city in war is soo fucking loooong

I would definitely agree, I watched his other movies and Space Odyssey wasn't that good imo but i would give him 10/10 on the cinematography

34 years old

Last 4:

A clockwork orange

Apocalypse now

Fight club

Goodfellas

boot camp part was pretty good but once they got to vietnam it was shitty. like they spent 30 minutes trying to get to that gook sniper that killed their friends and then he has some sort of internal struggle over whether he should kill her i thought that was pretty gay

yeah I agree the boot camp is phenomenal - vietnam is crap. Part of the problem is Matthew Modine really doesn't do much for the camera and the characters in general are all "meh". Boot camp is all about the harassment and its glorious.

Me? I'm 23. Nice quads.

Nice quads, tells the truth!!!

super troopers

Late 30's. Maybe even early 40's.

Watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest as we speak.
Classic.
