My favorite is this Rorke's Drift picture, back when it was cool to kill niggers

Just look at the audience to see Labour's voter base.

> Muslim
> Black man
> Fat ugly socialist

We have the same problem with democrats. They pander to the niggers, spics, fags and illegal aliens all at the expense of the working White people.

HEARTS OF OAK ARE OUR SHIPS
JOLLY TARS ARE OUR MEN
WE'RE ALWAYS A READY
STEADY BOYS, STEADY!
WE FIGHT AND WE CONQUER AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Let's get some proper high quality British feels.

> tfw you will never rape and pillage Washington sitting on Capitol Hill watching everything burn.

Thank you for UKIP. You managed to split the Tory vote and let Labour win in all the seats the Tories had targeted.

We really are grateful to you, comrade.

Fuck Tories. They screwed Britain.

Actually there was a tornado that night so you would probably wouldn't get a very good view of anything

We'll rant and we'll roar, like true British sailors,
We'll rant and we'll roar across the salt seas;
Until we strike soundings
In the Channel of old England,
From Ushant to Scilly 'tis thirty-five leagues

Cuck us Britain, we want your big white cock inside of us again.

Is that actually real?

We are bros so it is cool. It actually made me chuckle. I wonder though, would the typical Brit smile if the US posted something about Yorktown?

That pic name. Anglo Americans. That's the only real Americans. Everything else goes with -

youtube.com/watch?v=WVC677-YmfM

>Yorktown
The typical Brit would have to look it up.

>tfw that flag is hanging in my room

This, unfortunately.

Most Brits wouldn't even know that the U.S. was a former British colony.

History education here is incredibly lacking. All we learned about was:
Egypt
Romans
Tudors
Guy Fawkes
Then loads of shit on WW1 and WW2

I don't think I even learnt anything about Magna Carta.

Wait they don't know we were your colony? Wtf? Do they think America just spontaneously appeared?

Don't feel bad Americhum.

Most people don't know how any country was formed.

I'd say people are more likely to know about the Indian Empire, but I'm guessing a large amount of people probably don't.

The way we taught history in this country changed a long time ago (60s, I'd wager).

We used to teach the national myth of Britain, but that has long since disappeared, to quote Peter Hitchens: "In an incredibly short time, we have been turned into a nation without heroes, without pride in our past or knowledge of either our past triumphs or our past follies and disasters. We are like an amnesia patient, waking up in the hospital ward, with both past and future great blank spaces stretching behind and before us, doomed to repeat mistakes we do not even know we have already made."

I can understand the principle behind modern history teaching. They try and focus on the details of what life was like in a particular area, and weighing one source against another, rather than dictating a series of events. The problem is this approach separated a whole generation from the story of their ancestors, and without a story you don't have a people.

Jesus that's pretty terrible. Admittedly I went to a nice wealthy white public school, but European and American history was pretty heavily instructed here, both good and bad. How can a people be proud in themselves if they don't know the history of their forefathers?

Good for you lad; never had a problem with British nationalism/imperialism except when it was against its own people in those colonies, then later when it was against the US's interest.

You are refering to stories of King Arthur and other legends? Though some are debatable others clearly false, it should be taught as a piece of culture I'd imagine.

I guess now Quranic studies take up all that time.

Australia is probably even worse. History was essentially White Guilt class. Ancient history was stripped of everything interesting or informative and made into pointless, boring, memorization exercises. We were constantly taught that white people had been going on a world tour of rape and destruction, stealing from and killing the wise, enlightened natives for too long and now it was time to make amends. Leftists are just the idiots that still believe that shit.

>How can a people be proud in themselves
Most Brits aren't
>if they don't know the history of their forefathers
because they don't.

>The problem is this approach separated a whole generation from the story of their ancestors, and without a story you don't have a people.

True, and that's exactly why history is being taught this way.

>You are refering to stories of King Arthur and other legends?

No. I'm referring to the national myth of a country; the way a country interprets historical events to create a narrative that forms part of their identity.

For example, the US one would be:
>Brave, intrepid Europeans discover America
>They establish a home through sheer brilliance in the untamed wilderness.
>The evil, foreign King begins to act tyrannically
>Enlightened Americans free themselves from these shackles and create a new state, with freedom for all.

Britain's would have been:
>Britons endure constant hostile invasions (Roman, Saxon, Viking, Norman)
>Until the brave people of England force their tyrannical King into limiting his powers and securing their rights through Magna Carta.
>The Kingdoms of the British Isles are near-constantly warring with each other.
>Until they unite together.
>This rainy corner of the Atlantic goes on to conquer a large part of the globe, all the while fighting back invasions from "the jealous of less happy lands."

Both obviously contain a large element of truth within them, but they are woven into a narrative that is only questionably present.

>I guess now Quranic studies take up all that time.

Funny meme.

Ooops, missed out my:

Based. I voted UKIP here in Scotland but sadly my country is overwhelmingly cucked.

>tfw also sheepland
>tfw also ukip

>mfw watching nationalist groups rise in Europe

Good job lefties! You steadfastly refused to budge on your immigration policies and you treated anyone who disagreed with you as racists, well congratufuckinglations for allowing these groups to rise thanks to your irrational bullshit

Those aren't myths though m8.

Except by endured you mean Island of rapefests then yes, and lucked out that the Spanish Armada got btfo.

that sucks bro

I think this is because former British colonies are desperate to create a new identity for themselves, so often they idolise the natives, so that they don't have to base their identity on Britain.

But obviously this is completely unsuccessful, most people are not descended from the natives, and most can easily realise that they are NOT the founders of the civilisation they are living in.

These desperate attempts to cut themselves from the mother-country result in the cultural cringe.

Canada's changing of their flag was an attempt to do this. I think what would actually instill a sense of patriotism in these countries is if they embraced the aspect of being "Britannia's sons", thus incorporating the history of individual liberties hat Britain has into their own.

And this narrative isn't even untrue!

I think its glorious that we have Mark Reckless in Welsh Parliament, he is a fantastic politician and is more based than Carswell.

RECKLESS AND PROVOCATIVE!

People were saying this back in the 90's

"A national myth is an inspiring narrative or anecdote about a nation's past. Such myths often serve as an important national symbol and affirm a set of national values."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_myth

"A traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events."

oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/myth

>Lucked out that the Spanish Armada got btfo.

The two fleets engaged in combat, the English fleet had better cannons, better leadership and home-turf advantage, so the Spanish fled.

Luck only played some role.

And however lucky it was doesn't matter, it still forms a part of the British myth and identity, which is what we're discussing.

>there are americans who want to be subsurvient to this shithole
Literally why? The glory days were a long time ago lads.

In all honesty, I only learned the Americans had a revolution about a year ago. I'm 23.
