The Clash were shit though. And they were just as manufactured as the Sex Pistols, only they were manufactured by a record label and not a clothes' shop. The Pistols at least had the decency to break up almost as quickly as they formed.
Joe Strummer was also an extremely sheltered rich kid growing up, which makes him all the more difficult to take seriously.
