Dustforce because it relaxes me even when I'm not playing. Haven't played video games in a while and don't miss them
Earthbound because comfy feels.
Because its amazing
Super Mario Galaxy
I still listen to this occasionally when I'm longing for a comfy time I can never return to.
The vinyl release is fucking dope
Do you have it?
Post a picture
There's a video on YouTube. One disc is cherry RED and the other is BLU. There's a lot of cool artwork and posters included and I think there's a code
Runescape's music is underrated, imo
youtube.com
comfiness, feely, memorable
also Drakengard I and Deadly Premonition
that's rad
...
Unironically undertale because it's just so damn well-composed
Fits the game's atmosphere incredibly well, overall well-composed. Can be grandiose or aggressive during battles and the ambient tracks are even good. Also, the best Staff Roll theme in gaming. Meguro's best work imo
this
Bungie Halo's.
Need I explain?
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and 5.
World of Warcraft and probably a lot more.
this game still makes me feel
Minecraft

Because classical music is pratician
This.
woaaaah
this, take a listen, very fun and upbeat
Creates a neat aesthetic that can't be replicated
ONE MORE GOD REJECTED
Though Persona 5's soundtrack is pretty dope as well
It reminds me of better times.
hotline miami (both 1 and 2). great, and fitting. got me into a whole new genre
This has always been my favorite
m.youtube.com
I wish there was more music like this.
Donkey Kong Country.
Love DKC2 too.
Tropical Freeze for me. Every level theme is great. Definitively think that if David wise had been an indie artist who made albums he'd be pitchfork core or at least highly rated on RYM
Silent Hill (1 and 2)
or
Earthbound
So many memorable songs despite only having 8 bits to work with
thats the main reason why i used to play HM
Machinarium for sure. I love ambient, and the mix of lo fi digital sounds and instrumentation was so good. Every track sounds rich and layered and it really is worth multiple listens. Parts of the soundtrack invoke some of the same feelings that I got from BoC's Tomorrows Harvest.
fav tracks:
Bastion because the electronic+country thing isn't something I hear often
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
Brings back a lot of nostalgia whenever I listen to it.
I've been listening to SH2 after seeing it mentioned on here. Is 1 the only other of the series I should check out, or is all of Akira Yamoka's stuff this good?
bloodborne, for eldritch reasons
The first 3 Spyro games. Music done by Stewart Copeland
jet set radio future has my favorite soundtrack from any video game ever
10/10 choices
Mine is Shadow of the Colossus because it's epic and intimate and intensifies the battles with emotion and melancholy. And it stills gives me goosebumps all these years later
This man fuck Elwynn and durotar even the blood elf starting zones fucking kill me when I hear them not to mention the vanilla wow theme
dark and brooding but still maintaining a realistic melancholy that keeps it from being "edgy" or amateur. i like it for the same reasons i like the game, pretty much.
Witcher 3 soundtrack was superb. Same producer for Cyberpunk 2077 as well. Should be interesting.
Jun Ishikawa is my hero
>those arpeggios
>still recognizable and memorable tracks
>captured the feeling of the game perfectly
is there more of an unsung hero as jun ishikawa?

Don't forgot about Dun Morogh.
There has never been a comfier track from a vidya game.
Tossup between Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and Risk of Rain
Goblet Grotto because it makes me feel like I have ascended
>not having the spy in the center square and have him be half blue and half red
Missed opportunity
some of my favorites
banjo kazooie
youtube.com
galaxy force
youtube.com
sega rally championship
youtube.com
youtube.com
also pilotwings 64 but for the nostalgia of sitting in front of the tv just flying around

1 is more on the industrial side
you can check it out all the other stuff, but none come nearly as good as the two first ones
Holy shit I didn't expect this to come up, top fucking tier taste man
This one is my choice
LISA, the last vidya I played, OST reminds me of the game. Not like I'm listening to game soundtracks or anything
Spending time on games feels so pointless and they don't even bring joy. I haven't played games myself for around two years too
Minecraft is so comfy, and i dont even play the game
I also love Pokemon Ruby&Saphire, manly because i spent so much time playing
Doom for satanic reasons
youtube.com
Thanks for the all the memories, Marty!
Also there is a Beastie Boy sample on the C&C Generals OST and, apparently, I'm the only person alive who cares.
Either space funeral or LISA, because they're creepy as shit
Golden Sun because I love the compositions and always sets the perfect mood, it also reminds me of Radiohead's HTTT for some reason
Referring to both GBA games by the way
Bloodborne because it perfectly matches the players feelings when playing the game.
Gascoigne's fight alone is incredibly well designed and it's enhanced by the intensity of the music.

...
Flute salad is my shit.
my nigger
otherwise it's Lost Kingdoms, mainly for nostalgia and comfy; most of the level worlds are banging, even if the main battle theme is used in nearly every single battle and is a 1 minute loop
I used to only listen to vidya-related stuff and bits and pieces of Electronic. Pruning my music library and adjusting to new music was very difficult. This is some of what I kept:
Nier Jazz Arrange
youtube.com
VA-11 HALL-A
youtube.com
Turnabout Jazz Soul (Ace Attorney)
youtube.com
Prescription for Sleep: Undertale
youtube.com
From Astral to Umbral (FFXIV)
youtube.com
Dragon Quest VIII Symphonic Suite
youtube.com
Disgaea
youtube.com
Sonic CD (I love the music for Sonic games but I've never actually played one.)
youtube.com
Splatoon
youtube.com
Persona Music Live Band
youtube.com
Undertale's my favorite OST, I've listened to it the most and it made me check out Homestuck despite the huge stigma around it. Also made me want to mess around with FL Studio but I have no idea where to start with that.
GOT DAMN i love you ben prunty
so simple yet catchy and relistenable
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. The Celtic influences make me hard
memories man, just seeing that cover brings me back to 2006. Easily the best time in my life gaming wise, I still haven't played anything that's given me the same feeling that game has
Only patrician in the thread.
Middens or nidhogg
Because fuck you that's why
>odd time signatures
>classic, baroque and popular references
>really sentimental and heartwarming
WHO ARE YOU? WHAT'S YOUR NAME? SUPA BURODA
Not actually a vidya OST but it's amazing either way
check out zappa's later work he did on the synclavier
not same user but I find the SH3 OST just as good as SH2s
dem drums
Anyone else here want to be a Video Game Composer? Dream job desu
youtube.com
Sounds hard considering your music have to be good and short in order to be looped, must fill the atmosphere of the stage/ambient and can't become boring after the first loops
Never said it was going to be easy, mate
>27/16
superb
Am thinking about it, should practice more though
Best answer here
Thanks.
Just in case it wasn't already mentioned in the thread, pic related is fantastic.
eh, not to be that guy, but Morrowind and Oblivion OST is a lot better, especially Morrowind's
I dont play video games anymore but the dalaran theme makes me wet
>Ruth White
>Les Rallizes Denudes
Space Funeral's soundtrack is patrician as fuck
im listening to this now and oh my fucking god I miss running around dalaran at 3fps with this music playing
Thought because of that pic you were gonna say Barnyard on PS2, disappointing cus that has a great OST
Airblade on PS2 mainly cus of nostalgia
This
I've never played them but does the Dead Space series have good music? Space and horror genres both tend to be what I like in soundtracks for movies.
Good to know, I'll check out both.
Mario Sunshine.
Delfino Plaza, most specifically.
