animation truly is the highest form of kino

>2.5 hour flick will never surpass dozens of hours of content

What a daring revelation from a rational human being

Cartoons are the best medium for adapting comic books. They move like a movie, but are drawn like a comic. They can be serialized or episodic just like a comic book. It's a perfect fit and I don't understand why people like any live action capeshit. It just seems like a waste of money and it looks ridiculous in live action

>happy-go-lucky Superman
>attractive Wonder Woman
>Batman who doesn't kill

Absolutely haram. DC is dark and super serious.

J. M. DeMatteis adapted the script from the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons story; they are given credit at the beginning of the episode. A rumor states that Alan Moore has gone on record stating that the episode is the only adaptation of his works that he actually likes. However, Moore simply approved the episode.

>rumor states that Alan Moore has gone on record stating that the episode is the only adaptation of his works that he actually likes.

man, i really hope now that school is back in session or will be soon in the US, shitty and juvenile comic book posts like this will diminish. you've had your fun kids, now gtfo.

Live action Iron Man 1 is superior to every single piece of animated material featuring Iron Man combined.

Quality will always be above quantity, you shitty pleb.

Will we get a Hawkgirl in the DCU? I remember liking her as a kid.

The main problem with live action capeshit is they usually require large casts meaning no-name actors or no budget.

All DCU shit should be dumpstered until they make this desu

I hope, they'll probably cast another shitskin.

>calling things juvenile while posting on a Laotian pop art blog

Isn't that just because Moore tends to fucking hate his works by the time anyone gets around to adapting them?

Marvel will never top that, nothing even comes close.

the bigger problem is he will never stop

When they do reboot the movie universe, they should give control to the DCAU team. Their the only ones who know how to make a proper screen DC universe

Or just back to a series and not those shitty direct to video movies

i remember hating her,. she seemed like a shitty addition
i mean her main power was flying, which most of the others could do, and better since their flight wasn't based on huge ass wings that made giant targets
all she did was fly around and hit people with a morningstar
and her personality was just wonderwoman on a heavy flow day

How is it that the cartoons meant for kids were more mature and better written than the movies that are supposed to be these dark and gritty things for adults?

>Zack Snyder will never make a good movie
ftfy

No. It's fucking overrated and Superman is OOC as hell in it. It's a typical "make everyone else suck so Batman can look good" story.

So they're allowed to make movies for like two years now?

Hawkgirl has the best arc of the entire series. She's basically the main character since her romance with john and the invasion of the Thanagarians continues to be important even til the end of JLU. You're just a pleb

That's more to with Marlel animation being joke than Iron Man being good.
I do like the first Iron Man though.

I get goosebumps just thinking about this episode.

>supes' fantasy world is being a regular guy, working a farm on krypton with a wife and son
>batman's is just his parents not dying

The season where Luthor pretended to be a good guy and Waller ran her anti-JLA Cadmus blows BvS and Seppuku Squad out of the water. Snyder and Ayer should be ashamed that a kids show managed to be more mature and better written then their 200 million dollar movies.

>hasn't seen Watchmen

Right but point being there's fucking tons of Iron Man animated stuff and it's all shit, so what that guy was saying is retarded.

Why didn't they adapt this team instead?

>Ozymandias with BAT NIPPLES

Donner's Superman is better than Adventures of Superman

those having nothing to do with her character or her shitty powers though
just because they force a romance doesnt make her interesting or likeable
and in what way were her dipshit peoples failed invasion a continuing factor throughout the series?
not that it matters, nothing you said changes my points

Nah, I wouldn't go that far. Superman and Batman were always the main characters in the show. 99% of the time it was one of their rogues causing trouble and it was up to them to save the day.

This episode was one of the few times I really empathized with Supes

>Snyder makes the costumes
Stupidity is an illness.

Because cartoons don't try so hard to be "grown up".

>She's basically the main character
literally the only person you could say was less of a main character was the flash, who was just the teams buttmonkey in this version

>the director has no input on what kind of costumes are used in his movie
Really? Well, shit. Pardon me.

>director has time to micro manage everything down to the nipples on one guy's costume
oh

The costume was completely different from the one used in the comics. Considering the amount of effort Snyder put in recreating scenes from the comics as faithfully as possible, yes he did micromanage that on purpose. There is no excuse for this.

>fucking Cyborg on the Justice League
>not Lantern

>completely different
still had the headband thing
still had a cape
still looked psuedo regal

eh

>>happy-go-lucky Superman
>>attractive Wonder Woman
>>Batman who doesn't kill

Exactly the opposite of Snyderverse

green lantern is untouchabel right now
that godawful movie wasn't to long ago, they'll have to wait and bring him in slowly for cameos or something

>tfw like some of his casting but hate his writing
>tfw going have to lose those I like if we get a much needed reboot

I don't remember the arcs/stories at all. I think I just thought she looked nice.

It's been 5 years. It's time to let go.

>Snyder
>writer
wew

Iron Man 1 is shit

The CADMUS arc was more mature and thought-provoking than anything in Snyder's repertoire.

Wrong. Her story concludes the Justice League, and her story continues to develop throughout JLU, Supes and Bats are there, but they don't change or grow as characters unlike Shyera. Her episodes were some of the most important in the series. She's the heart of the entire show. Her and John have the best interactions and the most developed relationship. Batman and Supes had their own shows with their own development in them.
The invasion of the Thanagarians is why Hawkgirl leaves and why Jon and her break up, a key running plot throughout JLU. They bring it up constantly and it a source of tension between Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl and the the other team members, and her and Jon of course. The only plot point more important to the development of the series is the Justice Lords. But this story between her and Jon develops them both and is the main emotional arc of both shows. Hawkgirl is a lot more than bitchy wonder woman, and if you can't read basic things like this you are a plebian.

Alan Moore isn't capable of feeling joy, so this isn't surprising.

>Alan Moore isn't capable of feeling joy
Yes he is, he was happy reading Little Lulu.

talk to dc. i'd be fine with seeing a greenlantern in a movie again
especially if it was jon stewart

I don't understand this the cartoons knew how to be serious and dark but not to the point were it seem its tying to hard and still be light-hearted without it seeing like quipfest like most Marvel movies with no stakes.

ladys and gentleman i present to you
a blind fanboy

>it's a "Batman takes a drug lord to a clinic where his son is being treated after his life was ruined by becoming addicted to his father's product" episode
Well fuck me, I don't know.

>mfw this show makes me think of John Stewart instead of Hal Jordan whenever I think of Green Lantern

>force a romance
It was never forced. It had actually had development.

Man of Steel was dogshit and they kept that creative team around for BvS

Same here. I just grew up watching the JL but when I heard of Hal years ago I got confused.

I think a lot of it stems from difference in expectations. You don't expect a lot from a cartoon aimed at kids, so when it goes above and beyond those expectations it impresses you. But a live action movie you just expect a little more out of it and so you are more easily disappointed

Putting expectations aside, you can easily tell that there still a huge difference in the quality.

for you

Not sure if meme or actually serious. Either way you should reconsider your life choices.

the first 3 episodes of S:TAS known as "The Last Son of Krypton" are 100,000 times better then any live action superman anything we have gotten to date ever and possible ever will be if they continue in this shitty direction.

this is cancer to the DC universe

yeah but green lantern wasnt really part of the dceu was it? i mean they had all their hopes set on bvs thinking it was going to be the marvel killer, they have to many eggs in that creative teams basket

unfortunately, even that hope passed when Dwayne McDuffie died in 2011. No one is really left to helm it.

Unless WW is good, in which case, Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns may finally save us

Green Lantern was supposed to be "the Star Wars of this generation".

The first thing that the producers should have done before making MOS and BVS was watching this animation

That movie was fine. People with no imagination hate on it.

This is Katana.

She's got my back.

>Animated series for kids covers issues like this
>Dark and gritty movies made for adults are afraid to cover issues like an abusive relationships

But I got her backside on my mouth

It's almost like one treats its audience like retards and the other doesn't.

Problem is the Green Lantern movie was total fucking garbage, which to Warner Brothers means the character was garbage, since they view that as more likely than literally everything coming together into a shit movie.

Basically its typical hollywood capeshit-bullshit.

YES. He is the DIRECTOR. He has Final Say on all bullshit. it is his vision.

because they were sure BvS would work. They didn't want to have to wait another 5 years to jump at it again like with the first superman

not an argument

Wait, what?

Sure. The difference between Paul Dini/ Bruce Timm/ Dwayne McDuffie(rip) and Snyder is those guys actually like their characters and universe. They are the biggest DC fanboys ever and it shows in how they write. They don't think Superman is boring and stupid and feel the need to change him. Dini is such a fan of DC he married an IRL version of Zatanna, his favorite superheroine. Justice League and JLU show how much they love the wacky and unrealistic parts of the DCverse. Watching Snyder movies makes it certain he hates it all except Batman.

But creators of this actually like Snyder's vision.

This is the hail Mary DC needs right now.

>Alan Moore has gone on record stating that the episode is the only adaptation of his works that he actually likes
He also said he liked Saturday Morning Watchmen.

what episode???

dcau.wikia.com/wiki/It's_Never_Too_Late

Very Angels with Dirty Faces
