white light/white heat could have been experimental and very risky at the time, but its production is utter shit. sounds like a bootleg live recording more than a studio product. sounded horrible back then, sounds horrible right now.

Just because it's too long for you to sit through doesn't make it wank. I like how it takes a typical blues structure and extends it to absurd length, and the noisy back and forth between Cale and Reed is very engaging.

Sister Ray needed to be a 5 minute song. Helter Skelter started out as a 27 minute jam, and they shortened it nicely to 4 minutes. That's the treatment Sister Ray needed. There's a good song in there somewhere. The thumping guitar licks are great but not for 25 minutes.

I would love to hear a 27 min Helter Skelter jam so I suppose we get different things out of rock music friend
