Lets start a conversation Sup Forums. My father is forcing me to go work with him in his shop. Im 21, im being forced to stop my studies (my uni is in another city), just to go work with him. He wants me to go without him paying me anything, and doesnt let me anything from the store when i get hungry because "i will bring the shop down, because whatever i eat, he has to pay". Also, he takes me there for long periods of time, usually 10+ hours, not leaving any time for studies, social life, or sleep. What do i do Sup Forums?

i dont party at all, i have about 50 euros to get by for 30 days, that is all. in the 50 euros, i need the 30 just for traveling to my uni. so 20 euros for 30 days. there is no money for partying

in my country it is not uncommon to live with your parents. it is now that i cant support myself. i cant get a job because no one employs you if you havent done your army duty. and i cant, cause i will throw away 3 years of studying

It isn't unusual for people to live with their parents until they finish school and find work in their chosen career field.

if he can't afford to pay anyone and has to keep you from doing other more lucrative things (and yes, studying is lucrative in the long term) that means that the shop is fucked economically speaking, probably beyond salvation cause it is run by a single person who will refuse to change tactics.

the whole point that you're wasting your time without paying is wrong, if you want to help your family find a real 8 hours full time job or even a part time job and bring money at home, for sure is better than helping a small shop on its dead end way.

I had a similar problem with my family when I was younger. They prevented me from being independent. I won't get into detail and give you a sob story. I'm 28 now and still rely on my parent. Don't be a loser like me. Im already taking further action now to cut loose. I won't try into details about that either but. Do whatever you can to cut loose from them. Whatever it takes.

And if not, make a small mobile game or app then throw it on the market. You will not get a lot from it but it can only help.

And advice for the futur, once you get the paper leave greece, you have no futur there. Look for jobs in Swisszerland / Germany / Maybe France. Software Engineers are in high demand and you have to live in an actual country.

There's options out there. You just gotta search for it. The thing is, sometimes a parent may fear losing you so they'll do shit to stifle your success. They may even be jealous sometimes that you might have a better life. They'll give you less money to make it harder on your studies l. They'll feed you the bare minimum so you can't think straight. They may even demand so much time from you to single you out from social contact and keep you dependant.
