Is working the 9 to 5 a waste of your life? Fuck working 40 hours a week at a shit job for the next 40 years.

Anyone on Sup Forums actually like what they do, or don't have to work 40 hours a week while doing something that they have a passion for?

Ive also been thinking the same user. Its a shitter

sauce me.? Google image search doesnt have any in stock.

>Hi I'm 18 and filled with communist propaganda from school
Get a job you can do, work hard and see money as a means to an end. You're just a dumb spoilt kid who has had it too easy his whole life. Have a sage because I don't like you.

I don't work at 9-5. I repair and sell used appliances that I acquire from places that are throwing them away. It's a decent gig, because appliances are always in demand and not going anywhere. I work whenever I feel like heading out to my garage and feel like it. I post shit on craigslist, so you have to deal with that shit. Kind of a pain sometimes. But usually people looking for this kind of shit aren't your average Craigslist dopers / scammers ( would be kind of hard / stupid to try to rob me and run off with a washer ). I also like being able to tell people to fuck off if they're being a douchecanoe. On average, I bring in around 2 grand a week. Obviously tax free. I'd say I MAYBE " work " 25 hours a week.

idk, but I want to be a mailman.

you work hard for ten years and move up

like me

I don't mind being a wage slave, I'm not a risk taker willing to put my financial future on the line to be an entrepreneur or business owner.

I just go to work 40-60 hours per week, generous annual salary + RVU, chip away at a massive student loan, and drive my 2012 Toyota wearing my Fred Meyer jeans and button up shirt..... drifting along until retirement.... because that's when life begins?

If you don't want to work 9-5, prepare for great difficulty in life that can be continuously adapted to.

>Is working the 9 to 5 a waste of your life?
Not necessarily as people who ask or epitomise this are generally teenage manchildren who are going to end up as failures in life anyway

I'd say anything in life that doesn't challenge you and bring you satisfaction is a waste of life. I only discovered that through years of failure.

This.

The secret to work fulfilment is to do something challenging.

I do the "9 to 5" but a night shift instead of morning. I don't love my job, but I don't hate it either. Make decent money, don't work too hard, have good benefits. I'm as content as could be in my current situation for sure.

>2 grand a week
bullshit

This faggot is lying.

Depends on the location.
I used to make gates and railings for fancy folk, could easily bring in 3 - 5k a week between two of us, and these jobs could easily be done by one guy and just hire someone to help you fit it.
If you're living in a rich area, you can easily get cash doing bullshit jobs.

thats why im joining the military cuz at least if im gonna die imma do it doing something fun

Enjoy PTSD.

By all means, we can afford to lose you.

Hi, China here. We make new appriances for a fraction of your amerrican wages.

i'm a beekeeper

it's hard work in the summer and boring as fuck in the winter. but the pay is great and the people i work with make it worth working in 110 degree heat.

Yes its a waste, you're essentially selling your life and freedom for money. But you have no choice as you have bills to pay. I often wonder what will happen to all these NEETs in a few more years when mommy and daddy die. Will we suddenly end up with tens of millions of homless unemployable nitwits? Will it be the NEETpocalypse?

>9 to 17
Go work 9-21, five days a week, then you can look me in the eye and say that you're wasting your life

kek a guy who has no money and probably lives with his parents

i work 7-8 every day you're a pussy get over yourself you lazy fucking commie, yeah it sure does suck working long hours but what else are you gonna do, back during the stone age when everythign was free do you think people wanted to run around a forest chucking spears at animals all day long every day no they didnt but thats how you survive nothing in life comes easy if you want to be something if you want to have something you work for it faggot

>machinist

I quite enjoy it. It's challenging, and at the end of the day I feel like I'm doing something of value.

I work from 7 - ???. A true 8 hour day for me is 330. I do a delivery job, so sometimes that 330 can become 430, or 530. Even though the days are long, they also fly by. Its nice having weekends off, and i wont say i hate my job, but wont say i love it. Generally i drive a big box truck around listening to pod casts all day.

Ha, my farther and i are about to start doing this. Hope to learn enough to.one day make it my full job.

>Own my own business
>Work all day erry day

Hard work is it's own reward user.

I wouldn't say I have a passion for what I do but it's not bad. T he y send me out of town most of the time where I work maybe 20 hours a week but get paid 300 a day, and if I'm in town at the office I get paid 20 an hour and usually only work 30 hours a week. Lotta free time lotta money suck my dick wageslave.

yes good goy go slave for the jew, those shekels don't make themselves

>Get a job you can do, work hard and see money as a means to an end.
good goy!!!
don't look at the man behind the curtain!

...

I work 96 hours a week for 2 weeks straight and a week off before I do it all over again.

Stop being a pussy and get money fagboy.

I like to think of it as making the distinction between living for the job and working to live.

I don't mind doing a not-so-exciting job. As long as the salary's decent and it's not too many hours/week-- I'll be happy to do it.
My salary goes to funding projects (passions) I'm working on, travelling, having a good time.

So, all in all, I'm 23 and can't really complain.
The problem is if you have literally nothing else in the horizon, and you limit yourself to store attendant for the rest of your life or something.
Always keep goals for yourself-- Always strive for something that you love to actually do.
For instance, I'm working with a couple of friends on a business-idea to open the first gaming bar in this country. A place where you can eat, drink, watch E-sports and participate in tournaments. If it goes through, it'll be the first fucking place gamers can come together and hang out in this Country.

>drifting along until retirement.... because that's when life begins?
already dead and old at a young age
the jew has you, neo

Mechanic at a golf course. It's actually pretty great.
>People stay out of my business because they don't really understand what I'm doing.
>chill and ride around the course in a golf cart.
>set work schedule where I can clock out at 2:30 even if I'm in the middle of doing some work

Did i say 96? I meant 106 hours a week

>you have no choice as you have bills to pay
why would you though? that's the point.
why would you have to pay to live on this earth?
i don't have to because i lucked out at birth, but if i didnt i'd seriously consider the vagabond life

I make video games.

It's pretty ok, usually. Contacts less tgan 6 months long and I get to travel all around the world.

And when I'm not employed and on my free time I pretty much do the exact same thing as I do at work.

NEETs live off of neetbux that you pay for with your taxes
get back to work it's fucking monday
those hazy lazy days dont pay themselves

spoken like a true slave

robotization of your job incoming in 3... 2... 1...

> first gaming bar in this country. A place where you can eat, drink, watch E-sports and participate in tournaments.
you forgot the blowjobs

Job in IT that allows me to work remote, so I travel. American been in Columbia past month. Off to Costa Rica this upcoming weekend.

Also helps, I honestly love my job. Wouldn't give it up.

CNC already exists. I do that a little bit but mostly I do conventional operations. There's a very high demand for machinists as a whole because of a major skilled labor shortage, but most of the younger people who go into it focus on CNC, so conventional operators are in even higher demand.

I'm sure larger shops will go full automation ASAP, but they'll still need people to keep the machines running, and to program them. Smaller shops like the one I work in won't be doing this anytime soon. Also, the one I work in is the family business. As long as the place remains profitable, I have a job. Even during the Bush recession, we had plenty of work coming in. I don't see this changing. We probably will continue to get less and less production work, but breakdown work is mostly what we do anyway. Our customers aren't likely going to invest millions into setting up their own in-house shops to do this work, or send it overseas. If they could do that, they already would have. It's not cost or time effective for them to do so.

Spotted the commie child

spoted the rich parents spoiled piece of shit

My parents are middle class. I work hard for everything I own and I only have myself to thank for that. Enjoy yo mommas basement gayboi

I'm a project site supervisor for a housing development company. Every day is different and I have a healthy balance between working at my desk and on the site.
I love it when a projects is close to being finished and you see the process of the building evolve.

I work about 45 to 50 hours a week.

Sounds rewarding user

Statistically, you're just gonna end up shooting yourself in the head with your standard issue sidearm due to PTSD or the realization that you sold your life to the world's most popular cult, or you'll be on your way to the base on your crotch rocket, run a red light like a typical cocky militard, and get a face full of 18-wheeler..the driver of which gets paid 3x more than you. Keep livin that dream, millennial.

Where do you work because I have the same job description. I work 60 hours a week though and pay is crap.
I barely earn more than the workers I supervise who only work 40 hours a week.

No you don't. Don't act like you do, nigger. Assuming you worked every day that week, you would only have 48 hours left in the week to sleep.

106+ 2hr each day for food/breaks

48hr/7 = less than 7 hours off work to get home, sleep, and repeat.

Even if it were true you are clearly a full on slave and probably are making slave labor wages.

Keep making excuses not to work, dude, but you will be homeless.

sauce?

Because there's no free lunch in life, retard. Maybe it's because you lucked out, but when you're not a lucky faggot, you have to work for the things you want. Why pay to live on this Earth? Because none of this shit is free and it never was, you idiot.

I'm working from the netherlands If you meant which country, not gonna mention the company.

We don't have any workers for our company, the building process is being completed by different contractors which I have to control and make sure eveything is done according to the schedule.

Yeah it fucking sucks. That's why I drink everyday

Who gives a shit? If it bothers you don't do it. If you're in America u don't have to do anything. You would live kinda shitty but it's all a trade off. Like if you get married you will not b alone but you only get to fuck ur wife forever. I work 3rd shift in a factory. Money's good cuz no one wants to work 3rd & there's only like 3 of us, plus no bosses wanna b there at that time. But I have to sleep during 9-5 then. It's up to u user. Get a job & work it while u save $ for a car or start ur own shit-tier business or get a girl. Life's what u make it so make something that makes u happy bc $ doesn't mean anything unless that's all u care about

I don't think commies use Alt-right speak. I mean yeah, they do pretty much say the same things, they just have their own PC lingo. Where someone from Sup Forums would be whining about the Jews and niggers holding them back, the commie would be whining about the rich doing it. It means pretty much the same thing though: 'waaah! I wanted the easy life, at someone else's expense, and it's not fair I gotta work for it instead.'

You need to work, like, 80 hours a week. If you can't pour that time into becoming a God at your job, you need another job you can.

Spend a few years doing that and hopefully you don't die before you become awesome

I don't work 40 hour weeks. When I did I felt miserable. I do remote camp work in the oil industry. 10 on 4 off, food and lodging provided, and paid travel. It allows to skip the mundane stuff like cooking and keeping my place organized. Instead I have more time for working out and whatever else it may be (vidya, reading, shit posting, etc). Money is good if you're a licensed tradesman, and even if you're just low tier laborer it ain't bad. Got no expenses so money just keeps stock piling. Some people think this is like prison because of tight security and D&A testing, but if you're trying to get clean it might be the thing that can help. Ideally, I'd like 14/7 shift to allow more time to travel, but I'm good with this cash cow for now.
yes
>Obviously tax free
hope you don't live in the US and rent/own anything.

youtube.com/watch?v=9iCd6UHR-3I

who the fuck eats for 2 hours a day?

just do the math.
he's doing 14hr shifts.
its not unheard of in certain sectors.
oil rig workers usually do this stuff.

Communism doesn't work. Stop being a loser and find something you enjoy doing.
There's people who make money making YouTube videos. I'm sure they don't feel like slaves

Belgium here.
Without mentioning the company or any other specifics, do you work for a general contractor? Or do you supervise work from the client's or developer's point of view?
I ask because I work for a general contractor. So I supervise subbies as well as my own people. Responsible for quality and health and safety on site.

as well as planning and finances, obviously.

So you're a worker who owns the means of production, and you like it. Sounds like socialism is alright.

>never worked a day in his life

People work 80+ hour weeks. It's common. It's not service industry jobs either, because they usually won't let you work more than 39.5 hour weeks--people do work multiple jobs though I guess. No, laborers (skilled and unskilled) work those kinds of hours, as do business men.

I work from 6 to 6, 7 days a week on rotating shifts man the fuck up

same here, user. seems chill and you always get sundays and holdiays off. just gotta pass that drug test after you get your foot in the door.

fuck your slave obs I live by welfare and cryptotrading and I'm fucking free and spend my lifetime how I want you stupid goys

I have a passion for nothing.

I walk dogs for about an hour or two a day. Make $500 a month.

Seriously thinking about becoming homeless. AI can live off about 10-15 bucks a day.

I'm a chef by trade, and although so far it's been shit,
I have only now found a restaurant that is at a good quality environment. I feel good about making delicious food and I love seeing people's reactions to a dish that I made for them.
So yeah I love what I do and I'll be doing it for a while.
52 hours a week
Minimum wage.
#CHEFLIFE

biggest problem with being homeless is finding a safe place to sleep and being somewhat comfortable while you're doing it. enclosed spaces get hot quick

I work 40 and 15 overtime.
Cause I'm not a useless neet shit head. Get a job faggot.

Also I'm a concrete/welderfag

I enjoy Land Surveying.

Really my only concern. Living in Florida the weather isn't always pleasant, but we have lots of empty houses all the time from foreclosures and old people dying

How do you collect welfare without having and dragging a couple kids through the pathetic life you live?

>2 grand a week
>tax free
Unless you have some incredibly complex money laundering scheme going on the gubbermint is going to take a slice out your earnings (which you have to declare) whether you're a faggot who streams how many garage tools he can deepthroat or an investment banker on mad dough
