Gorillaz - Sleeping Power

Shockingly good, Reminiscent of Demon Days.
I've never liked anything Gorrillaz did besides Plastic Beach
And i'm confident that history will forget these guys so hard
Bumping. Sup Forums needs to hear this.
Fuck off then. You're not a Gorillaz fan.
>doesn't even like Demon Dayz
>You're not a Gorillaz fan.
The best news I've received all fucking day
it's good but I don't think it's better than a lot of the songs in Humanz
I can't think of one song on Humanz as good as this. Sounds old school Gorillaz. That's the best part.
>Sounds old school Gorillaz.
ok but that doesn't say anything about the actual song
should have called the fucking album 'sleeping powder' coz it was awful
>listenable
>poppy but distinctly Gorillaz
>fucking banger
It might be a top 5 charter in the U.S., Imagine that breath of fresh air being played between Lil Yachty and Katy Perry.
Makes me want to cry it's so lovely.
That song doesn't put you to sleep tho.
bumping again.
Is Sup Forums normally this slow?
idunno how about you lurk more and find out
>And i'm confident that history will forget these guys so hard
kek nice one
No people just don't like your shitty britpop bad that released their last not-bad album 12 years ago
Go into any other thread on this board and get some taste
>Go into any other thread on this board and get some taste
I don't want to be hipster faggot.
Well then it looks like you're gonna sit here and engage in needless reply wars and bump your doomed thread until you get bored
Nobodie's gonna come in here and circlejerk with you about "Gorrilaz are back" because they're not lol
You're probably right. I just thought this might relieve the people disappointed by Humanz
>Humanz was just the igniter for Damon's creative juices to start flowing
>starts to pump out singles on a normal basis
>they're as good or better than Sleeping Powder
>ends up creating another album in less than a year that's a 10/10
GORILLAZ ARE B A C K
>damon actually sings the whole song without 50 niggers rapping about evil whitey and drumpf
see that's all you had to do to make it a good album
Has he released any more singles?
It also doesn't sound like the fall which is relieving.
gb2 Sup Forums
I mean, that would be cool but is it really gonna happen
I'm just surprised he can still make music like this. It's joyful to know that.
The fall and humanz has a dark sound. This reminds me of my childhood with Demon Days
I'm back
Why couldn't they just animate him in 2D?
they will be remembered for being a huge animated band, not their actual music, though some of their biggest hits might at least be considered era classics.
It was done in a day with a recycled model from previous use without fine rendering
Keep in mind Gorillaz were probably one of the most genrefusing bands of the modern era.
They should be remembered through history.
People overlook their ingenuity.
>most genrefusing bands of the modern era
nigga what
because that's actually very expensive to do
well, ok, most genrefusing popular bands of the modern era
>music video is just like YouTuber madcatlady's videos
>Intro and Outro sound similar to Mutations by Beck, particularly Diamond Bollocks
>Song sounds like an electronic rendition of a Tonetta song, just with the usual formulaic muffled Albarn ("2-D") vocals.
God, every single artist has now gone off the deep end.
>get a notifaction on my phone from the gorillaz app that I meant to delete after Humanz
>roll my eyes that Gorillaz made a new song
>listen to it
>mfw it actually sounds like a Gorillaz song
This song was literally made in a few days, including the video which is just damon in mocap
>You were complaining about the lack of 2-D in humanz? Here's 3 minutes of 2-D dancing in your face
Not the original buttmad user or this guy, but this is true. A song like Feel Good Inc. may be considered somewhat epoch-defining, but this band will never be a true force in music historically speaking, except for in popularity. Which is why Albarn hates Thom Yorke. Jealous of the massive critical success and place in history.
This is false. Gorillaz are nothing groundbreaking, and are certainly not groundbreaking. Since Damon was in Blur, working on the 1997 self-titled album, it was clear that Beck and his album Odelay were huge influences on him. Odelay (and Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique before it, another album Albarn loves) were crazily eclectic before Gorillaz. Obviously Gorillaz take more talent than the two aforementioned records, due to those being sample-heavy (The Dust Brothers). True quality eclectic music is something like Madvillainy perhaps, or The Mollusk.
I agree with the snobby guys above me. Gorillaz most defining feature is the animated band part and that's how they'll be remembered in general music history. Sure, maybe a little more eclectic for a big pop band, but that's about it for their music.
Big hits like Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood will be in nostalgic decade countdown shows for years to come, though.
b-but muh perfect record
The only people that 'remember' gorillaz for their animated band are the same people who only know feel good inc
This. Just goes to show that Albarn just wanted easy money to finance an actual Gorillaz album. Humanz is basically a kickstarter album.

>True quality eclectic music is something like Madvillainy
Love MF Doom, but Gorillaz isn't quality electronic music. It's quality Genre-blending pop, something hard to find. Some artists have 1 or 2 songs that genre blend. Gorillaz have an entire catalog of it. They've also managed to stay quite poppy and commercially appealing. I've never heard a sound so eclectic yet marketable in the past 15 years.
That's what makes them so special. Apart from being a virtual band.
I think Gorillaz is honestly the best musical to come out of 2000-2017.
Now that I think of it, I honestly can't think of a better band to have mainstream success to come from the 2000's
>Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Wilco, fuck listing more.
Come on guys.
>arcade fire
>Animal Collective
>Wilco
So hipster rock? I'd say the Black Keys are better than them.
I can't stand the nu-male voices of the singers of those bands. I also can't stand how hipster it all is.
Wilco so far is the only decent one listed. But they are really just doing Sonic Youth, Galaxie 500, Shoegaze, post-grunge shit, Modern Indie rock shit.
It hurts because I associate it with Starbucks and Nu-Males.
You might as well associate every artist with their fanbase. You'll end up never listening to another song again!
I don't like the sound of emasculated adult men with feminine voices.
Everybody is going for that vocal style nowadays in alt rock.
Getting sick of it desu.
Why the fuck couldn't of Humanz been more like this?
>this was made in a day
This is honestly fucking amazing, it shows how talented Albarn can be by himself
>I've never liked anything Gorrillaz did besides Plastic Beach
I can see the future. This is what is going to happen.
>I've never liked anything Gorrillaz did besides Humanz
We need to go back to the old instruments and vintage equipment, this machines are too shiny and too noice. I don't like it but they think it's a new tool and technique that comes within a new technology.
I differ so I abandon the game but I didn't lose since Damon knows I want the revival thing going on. If we can go back to renaissance even better.
It was made for the laughs.
Wrong, but there needs to be a past musical style revival.
We can continue using old and modern equipment.
And it's unironically better than anything on Humanz despite it being a joke that Damon shat out in a couple of days.
Why doesn't Damon realize we want the Gorillaz to be remiscent of the first 3 albums?
We also want fucking bangers we can groove to.
>I think Gorillaz is honestly the best musical to come out of 2000-2017.
I think they're the most genuinely creative pop music to come out of the 21st century. There are certainly better and more original artists that have produced music in this time frame, but considering Gorillaz success, they are the best pop music act to come out of these past few decades. Those claiming that Gorillaz won't be remembered are sorely mistaken as evidenced by the ubiquitous nature of their entire catalog and pop status.
GOD DAMN, WHY WASN'T THIS ON HUMANZ?
>I think they're the most genuinely creative pop music to come out of the 21st century
Spot on, I'm glad someone understands.
Gorillaz proves you can break the rules while still being commercially viable.
Bumping this, because it needs more praise.
>best song on hoomanz
>sleeping powder
what is busted and blue?
a slow track that doesn't resemble the Gorillaz nearly as much as Sleeping Powder.
Why the fuck do Sup Forumsfags just make a single post and don't reply to anything?
bumping. needs more ears.
>people who unironically like demon days
youtube.com
Nothing will ever top this masterpiece
Fucking kek.
Because no one on this board has actual opinions. Everything is either spewed from fantano first or it's something said just for the purpose of being contrarian/patrician in some way.
Who the fuck is fantano?
