Best live albums?

This shit was incredibly immersive, literally felt like an inmate contemplating my life-sentence in front of this true american hero.

Grateful Dead - Live Dead
Allman Brothers Band - At Filmore East

For sure.

...

True though it's also pretty altered/produced with stuff too
But the parts that are live are just straight up live though

bump

...

Came here to post this.

Live at jittery joes

...

...

this album makes me so comfy and happy

But they added crowd sounds in that one!!

I'd say better.

Another good one.

Also (For all the punk rockers out there)

U.K. Subs Crash Course
U.K. Subs In Action

Iggy Pop T.V. Eye Live

David Bowie Ziggy Stardust The Motion Picture Soundtrack

Good choice

My favourite performance

Although the directors cut sucks

...

Access All Arenas is p good too

*deletes drum solo*
now it's perfect

I come to Sup Forums a lot, but I think this is maybe the first time I've ever seen anyone mention the Dead. Are they frowned upon here or something?

Live at Max's Kansas City is better.

>Are they frowned upon here or something?
not really, they're just the complete antithesis of what's considered cool on Sup Forums

Band of Gypsys and Hendrix Live at the Fillmore East. Doesn't get GOAT'er than this.

Led Zeppelin's How the West Was Won is good too.

I'm a dead head and play in the jam circuit/festival. This plays mostly hates on the genre. Glad to see people represent. Have you seen the documentary yet?

I liked zeppelins BBC sessions a shit ton.

That's a fucking great one too.

...

Now that I've combed through so much old blues I feel like plant just ripped too much off. Page was more original. Maybe I'm wrong

What about The Song Remains The Same soundtrack?

One of my first times tripping I watched that. The hurdy gurdy ? The sword trails?

The best of the best

...

Baez can shut her whore mouth and let the fiddle play

A fabulous album -- you have great taste.

>they're just the complete antithesis of what's considered cool on Sup Forums

Yeah, I kind of figured. It's too bad, as they're actually a good band.

>Have you seen the documentary yet?

No. I live in Japan and don't think it's available here yet.
Why is this not here? It's one of the classics.

This album is incredible.

Also related pic obviously.

Just Neil and a guitar/piano. Pretty haunting.

This is a correct answer

The Who Live At The Isle of Wight is also good.
I think that's a year after Live at Leeds.

Like A Rolling Stone at the end of this is Dylans live peak.

Its also cool to compare the version of Baby Let Me Follow You Down with he one on his first album - crazy that it was only 4 years.

>pic related
Hendrix's Woodstock performance is generally considered not that good.
I agree with Monterey tho, that was GOAT.

I would also add Neil Young Live at The BBC 1971

this

...

Well, it's better than Jimi Plays Berkeley IMHO, plus it's worth for the fact that he was now calling his group "Band of Gypsys" at this point and also for their cover of Dave Brubeck's Blue Rondo A La Turk which got re-named Back At The House. But, yeah, on the whole there are better performances out there.

>Fun Fact: Did you know they extended the Woodstock festival an extra day so Jimi could play due to shitty weather?

>Fun Fact: Did you know that almost everybody left before he went on stage and only played to 5000 people at the most?

>>Fun Fact: Did you know that almost everybody left before he went on stage and only played to 5000 people at the most?

Yeah, that shit was painful.

I'm glad this album is gaining some traction on Sup Forums. A year ago I couldn't pay people to post in a Donny Hathaway thread.

If you'd pay me i'd post in a Brokencyde thread m8.

>no sad heroin cowboy pouring heart out on six strings
