>Using a blind man as the movies' killer, in a single environment, with sound as a key part of the film's tension.
That's a neat twist compared to the supernatural schlock we've been stuck with lately. I might go see it.

>Don't Breathe
so it's a horror version of Blind fury? Also heard he has an attack dog.
Pretty much. And yeah, the dog is tranquilized early on but wakes up later in the film for added tension.
The parts that were legit spooky to me in the trailer were the ones with the blind man being right beside one of the victims, listening very closely for them.
Not sure if it will be good but I will give it points for doing something different.
why not just tackle him?
He's a war vet who, in the trailer, fucking destroys the strongest of the robbers without much effort.
Pretty sure if one of them tackled him, he'd snap their neck unless one of the other robbers got the gun from him in time.
That or just shoot at them when he hears them coming.
He's jacked.
any supernatural stuff ?
would it still hurt him if he got pocket sanded?
Oh, it's a slasher movie? I'll think I'll go see it too, I'm just tired of the ghosts/demons horror movies.
Trailer looked pretty shit though.
Is there any reason you wouldn't sympathize more with the disabled vet who is being robbed?
Nah not really haven't seen any spoilers but he better win
he has a basement full of dead bodies or something
otherwise, you would
just run round him and do silly noises at the top of your lungs
According to the director, no. The blind dude has something locked in his basement but we have had nothing that implied it was spooky ghosts.
It's not really even a slasher. There are only three victims and one of them gets killed early, so most of the horror comes less from the gore and more from the cat and mouse tension.
That's what I like about this so far. The robbers are the protagonist, but the blind dude pretty much has every right to kill their asses for trying to rob him while armed.
I guess it depends on what he has in his basement.
Hmmm, really makes me think......
Me and my blind friend were talking about upcoming movies to go see and we watched this trailer and she was so fucking offended. How would you feel if someone made your disability into the monster in a horror movie?
He has a gun. Doing that would be a deathwish.
Granted this movie would make a lot less sense if there was four or five victims, but limiting it to three (with one killed early in surprise) helps keep the film's tension grounded.
>She """"""""watched""""""""" this trailer
it would be extremely painful
he's not a monster, he's defending his property
I'll be seeing it. The concept sounds cool and I'm a huge fan of Stephen Lang who I think is way underrated and underused as an actor.
>Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people.
>three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people.
>three Detroit thieves
>Detroit thieves
>they're white
He has dead bodies in his basement, though. He's a psycho.
What you gotta ask yourself is, what the hell is left in detroit to steal?
>a diverse group of robbers
>He has a gun. Doing that would be a deathwish.
roll on the floor and do silly noises then?
Kind of getting The People Under the Stairs vibes from this so far.
OK sure but think about it, is Boris Karloff's Mummy at fault for wanting revenge on the people that broke into his tomb?
Pretty sure a blind man can tell when someone is standing and doing silly noises and rolling around and doing silly noises on a hardwood floor.
Either way he shoots you dead.
Dude kinda looks like the bad guy from Avatar.
all of them were self-defense. he's a nice old man that dindu nuffin.
Living in detroit it's probably the people who try to break in every day
...woah...
It is him, Stephen Lang.
guy's had a very lengthy filmography, took me a bit to realize he's the punkbitch from Tombstone
>everyone expects thieves in detroit to be black
>be a white thief
>the perfect crime
I sincerely thought that was Kevin Nash when i first saw the trailer.
...
I would be very disappointed if they don't have a scene of the girl farting, and the old man chasing them because of that
Will this revive the house invasion genre?
I wanna see which studio has the balls to film that one script with the school shooter hero.
Girls don't poop
>robber#1 almost silently whispers to robber#2 who is black
>"be. quiet... he can't see us... he is blind"
>robber#2 makes incredulous Will Smith face and mouths "waaaat"
>robber#2 raises his hand in front of blind guy's face and snaps his fingers
>He's a war vet
In american movie logic this means he has very powerful plot armor and super human physical and mental strength
>the school shooter hero
???
*kaff kaff*
Does God Bless America count?
>me and my blind friend
>movies to go see
Like she would even be able to appreciate the movie.
Might as well watch a charlie chaplin movie with her
being blind must be so boring
>Girl is the last survivor
>Makes it to the basement
>Finds a bunch of homemade sex dolls
>Turns out he is just really horny and wants a sex slave
>She gets knocked out from behind
>Wakes up bound to a chair
>Movie ends
Why not just knock on a door and say youre the police?
Back to your reddit ama with this shit
There's a script floating around a bunch of criminals who break into a wealthy family's home and kill the father, beat the mother and rape the sister. But it turns out they didn't know the brother was at the home, and he was hidden there because it was discovered he was planning a school shooting. So the little sociopath, who was amassed a cache of weapons in his room, goes around picking off the invaders in a NC-17 teen version of Die Hard.
I honestly can't wait for this movie
>The blind dude has something locked in his basement
the trailer I saw he had a women chained up in the basement
Imagine going through life hearing people talk about awesome movies and great effects and fantastic scenes and you have no idea whatsoever what any of this is like.
This is how Zack Snyder must feel all the time.
He could smell that you're not really the police.
Holy shit Pandora really did a number of Colonel Quaritch
She should be grateful to assist a COMBAT VETERAN, he deserves it.
o7
oh damn that sound like a nice one, but im sure a lot of normie in america gonna be triggered because he was planning for a school shooting
also it would be best to save the twist to the end of the movie
>tfw the old man wants to kill them because he thinks they're black
>"shut up for a sec jamar he's fucking coming right this way"
>...
>*smacks lips*
>jamar gets his neck snapped while yelling "SHEEEEEEIT"
tell him you are cia and are looking for bane
that sounds awesome, but I'm sure nobody would have the balls to ever glorify a school shooter in any way whatsoever
trailer already shows who dies in the film.
This is not a Raimi thread
Why don't the robbers just, you know, leave?
>people think the blind guy is the villian.
He is clearly the hero, yea he has some woman chained up in his basement, but nobody's perfect.
>Locks them in
>DUDE JUST LEAVE LMAO
they're just roleplaying
>doors locked
>this is somehow a problem to a burglar
She's probably another robber, in which case yea, fuck those guys.
Fucking thieves deserve everything they get.
You break into a mans home, you're literally asking to get chained up and raped in the ass.
>Cop sees blind guy dragging the chick screaming into his house
>"Thank you for your service, sir"
>Cop drives off to shoot black people
I hope he will say "and that's how you scatter the roaches"
>find out he's an ex-police chief that holds the nigger hunting record
>he's above the law
I like Stephen Lang, I hope James cameron finds someway to write him into Avatar 2
can he sense that CIA has assumed power stance?
...
So he's a Schrodinger's bad guy? He's evil depending on whether or not there's a corpse in his unseen basement?
It's already confirmed that he will be in all 4 Avatar sequels.
reddit.com
>yea he has some woman chained up in his basement, but nobody's perfect.
He says he's already locked in for the 4 sequels and from his recent AMA he said:
>Are you able to give us any information on how you will be able to return in the Avatar sequels?
>I'll quote Cameron on the subject. He leaned forward and said "It's science fiction, you know." If someone's looking for details, they're not going to get them, hehe. The theme of resurrection certainly has its place in the history of civilization, aside from science fiction.
Go out a window then
Glorious
>having problems with some blind old diaper
just rig the paint cans and marbles what the hell
