i think she is the woman u know that spider woman from his dreams at the end
The movie is literal. Everything you see on screen is actually happening.
It's about spider alien body snatcher invasion of earth.
Only pretentious plebs disagree.
It's obviously open to interpretation, but the story is based on the idea of a chaotic universe, in which nothing quite coheres.
For me, it was just kind of an interesting exercise in absurdism.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but that would be correct.
It's about a man who feels trapped by his pregnant wife and tries to escape her with alternate identities, but always finds himself back with her in the end
I am not. Everyone tries to find some hidden meaning and appear smarter than they are. And sure at the first sight the movie looks like one huge metaphor.
But you have to be utter patrician to uncover that its simply a sci-fi flick about aliens invading earth.
The quote in the beginning, "chaos is order yet undeciphered" definitely runs counter to this idea. Everything is by design in this story in the end
great movie
OP here.
If we have to take everything we see on screen as literal., there are undoubtedly two clones, right?
Now, if that's true it's also true that the professor had the turned photo with the pregnant wife before he knew her, right?
It's possible that there's some kind of time travel shenanigans involved in this?
Or is it something à la sliding doors?
It's about a guy with massive problems with women and commitment. Lots of the scenes happen inside his own head, he's struggling with the fact that his wife is pregnant and he wants to change and be a good Father for his child.
The final scene, his wife is a spider because he sees her as trapping him in her web and taking away his freedom. Also the look of acceptance on his face as he realises the first chance he had of being unfaithful (the strip club key) he caved in.
He's always gonna be a lousy cheat and he's just accepted who he is
It's not literal.
they're both parts of the same psyche, he's living within two timelines concurrently. Basically, it's that he feels trapped by marriage/settling down.
I think that's a good interpretation
I think the quote at the beginning of the film ("chaos is order yet undeciphered") gives viewers the choice to take everything literally, or apply a more philosophical critique.
Stop projecting user.
Something wrong with the wife?
Yeah, I see what you mean. See: Chaos is a matter of perception, and in this case, you're not going to be able to make tangible sense of it, so I think the film is meant to be both literal and abstract at the same time.
>tfw no spiderwife
>It's not literal
bait
What about the whole doppleganger situation?
Also, considering that it's based on a novel which didn't have the spiders in it at all, I have to disagree with you.
But hey, if that's how you feel about the movie, then good for you.
>It's about a man who feels trapped by his pregnant wife and tries to escape her with alternate identities, but always finds himself back with her in the end
Welcome to real life.
99% of all men feel this. It's in our animal nature to breed, not to be domesticated.
Human males are literally self defeating for the sake of "society".
That's why it's one of the greatest films of our generation
"DID YOU FUCKED MY WIFE?"
this
he couldn't believe he fucked her and made her pregnant and started to ask himself whether he really was that dumb
What was with the face he made that the very begining of the film when the stripper is stepping on the spider. He is sitting there covering a lot of his face, was the positioning on purpose or is that just how jake leans forward?
he's ashamed
Is there porn with this? There has to be
before microbes were realized, people thought that life occured randomly or by spontaneous generation; then the microscope and other deductive methods were used to conclude that very small particles were actually living things and there is a causative principle behind transmission of living organisms from place to place, much of it invisible to human vision
youtu.be
This helped me a lot OP
there are some sexy magic cards (black, of course) with sexy spider witches and queens
this was a great movie
The Spider Club is what allows him to create his alternate identities. The beginning scene was him assuming the Adam Bell professor identity, with the woman stepping on the spider acting as a psychological trigger to erase his wife from his memory

Read up autists
Is that a drider?
I was being sarcastic
I can't tell if this is a rebuttal, or if you're trying to reinforce my point; if it's the former, then you obviously cannot equate artistic analysis to the scientific method.
Then what does the ending means?
You do realize that K selection has nothing to do with a 'single mate' right?
Half of the natural k selection species live in "harem" dominated social structures with Alpha males breeding with multiple females.
Are you reading comprehension challenged? K selection species are all 1 male to many females. Where do you think the term "alpha" male comes from?
>there are undoubtedly two clones, right?
Couldn't be more far from the truth
