You don't need the numbers just some information referencing numbers, so people get a hint that you know more about the subject than they do.
What you are trying to do is give them a little inner panic over the idea that maybe they are appearing uneducated. Once they have that nagging self doubt it all falls into place, because people will do anything to appear knowledgeable even if that means backpedaling and pulling the "I was only pretending to be retarded card". Just remember to offer them that easy way out, or else they will go full retard and ignore all logic.
