Already looked at yours, guess I'm waitin till the thread fills up. I do look at everyone who comments on mine, even if the feedback isn't necessarily the nicest. Just honest.
wattersonjams.bandcamp.com/album/feel-good-forever >shoegaze with 90s emo, post rock, black metal etc influences, kinda all over >personal lyrics about loss and discontent >ffo: Swirlies, Have A Nice Life, maybe Elliott Smith? (don't shoot me) >free as fuck so feel free to take it
Thanks to everyone here who's downloaded or bought it btw. It's been a huge confidence boost and I'm real excited about the next thing I'm putting out.
PS: Anyone interested in playing stringed instruments, drums, or anyone with a Rhodes who might want to play it on the next record, hit me up! It's looking more doomy, more folky, more country. Just weird and dark.

love/hate/rate it, will post more feedback on more people
reccs: shit man its nice, to find this kind of sound here, followed, reminds of telephon tel aviv this is also really nice, great mixing with your tracks, love the vibe
>experimental ambient hip hop >eerie, atmospheric, samples EAI, noise, free improv, etc >for fans of cLOUDDEAD, Dalek, and Stars Of The Lid
listening to Get Actualized; sort of generic, but maybe because I've been inundated with this sort of stuff since childhood. Production is good but that's about all that draws me in
really love the subdued keys on this, would bump the drums up higher and maybe even have an electric bass in there but this is really atmospheric and nice. Great job, followed!
I would invest in a better mic, and the production is kinda basic. Not as bad as I was expecting, though
so glad to see you back, no vocals though? dang. did the guy you were talking to bail?
this is sick. reminds me of some of baths' stuff on cerulean. really tight production.
bruh you gotta be kiddin me with that album cover
pretty catchy, channeling ian curtis pretty hard for those vocals. doesn't stand out too much though. like so much other indie/garage/lofi on here, it has that issue where it pretty much repeats only one chord progression throughout the whole song. idk. the genre is so saturated you have to do something to stand out. as is, it's nice, but that's about it

clearly understands how to put together a great track with crisp production and attention to detail. fine. kinda drab, i'd like some more creative flairs. not a big fan of how dry the mix on the percussion is. giggle sample is a little corny. i really like the driving house rhythms, and the production is clean, but the ambient synths that hang around in the background don't really add much to the track and aren't super memorable. the track ends before it does anything substantial to keep me engaged, and because of that it's just kinda boring and forgettable. but again--groovy beat. the vocals are pretty quiet in relation to the rest of the mix. all in all the whole "emo-trap" aesthetic comes off more campy than emotional. but still, lots of cred for attempting to cross musical borders there's lots of emotional potential here, but a couple gripes. the songs could definitely benefit from a more polished production job, especially since the vocals are mixed VERY quiet, and the drums are totally lacking dynamic. as a whole, not bad stuff, but needs more texture--it's just a little TOO smooth sometimes. black metal influence is kinda weak too. but i like the vocal melodies and lyrics! this guy posts in every thread under the sun, and rightfully so. these are some well produced abrasive beats. it really really deserves somebody rapping over it though. that would bump up the quality even more. this is not good. i appreciate the attempt to create some sweet trendy beats, and the lyrics aren't awful, but the production is clearly lacking. your rapper lacks a competent, strong delivery. the sung portions are especially weak. i'm biased since the whole lo-fi hip hop thing doesn't connect with me too much, and this song h e a t kinda just is all the things i don't like about it rolled into one song. so i'm probably not the right guy to give you feedback. huh.
Will be giving criticism on SC and posting recs here.

this is pretty solid emo that gets the job done. that synth arpeggio gets old pretty quick. the guitar leads have a good tone, but the track doesn't feel like it has much of a direction. here are some attempts to blend together acoustic melodies and trap instrumentals. it's kind of hit or miss, but it's fine enough. i wish the beats were more original. eh. i like the pianos, but sounds like pretty standard audacity-core to me. i really want to review your original songs but i can barely hear them. please invest in a condenser microphone! production is very VERY messy, but it has a kinda raw feel. i would prefer to hear some more imaginative songwriting. again, not, bad just not really my thing. bro are you fucking kidding with the album cover rn. MORE LOFI HIPHOP YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
(2/2) I'm tired. That's all I'm gonna listen to right now. Here's my shit.
>it really really deserves somebody rapping over it though. that would bump up the quality even more. Thanks for the good words man! As far as rapping goes, I haven't really found a lot of people willing to hop on these beats, and I can understand why, but I'd also be very picky if I could choose a rapper that would do these beats justice (might sound a bit pretentious of me, but I don't care, it's my music, I put a lot of effort in it, I don't want it to be ruined by a soundcloud/meme rapper).
Mason Wilson
got some chill beats right there dude
Hunter Baker
Thanks for the lovely comment. I'm the top guy you replied to
^ Especially this guy. Weird electronic soundscapes straight outta the best city.

Thanks for giving it a shot. I'm definitely mixing the vocals differently next time (first time mixing on my own desu) and I actually talked to a friend about the drums, going to EQ very differnently, use different samples with a better room feel, and probably throw a good bit of tape compression and warmth over them. and yeah, the BM is barely even there haha. next thing is going to be an awful lot more dynamic, both noisier and folkier. ways out from release though.
for your stuff - it's recorded well, and I can appreciate how clean the guitar playing is. I especially like the section that kicks in around 1:28, too many indie/folk musicians on here get stuck in playing just one chord progression the entire time. altogether, it's pretty well crafted.
if I'm being honest, my biggest gripe is the lyrics. they're pretty bland, the repetitive part isn't that catchy, and it doesn't feel like there was too much effort put in. the song kinda suffers for it. but I feel like I need context, too - if it was placed in an album where the rest of the songs had more to them, it might function as a welcome reprieve. as is, though, "there cannot be hope for you" and "listen to what I say to you" are both kind of awkward and un-poetic.
but yeah, in terms of instrumentation, it's solid, and the part at 1:28 is really, really well done.

Oh, now I see that you've posted your stuff. I see a lot of singer/songwriter stuff on these threads, and I have to say, this is a pretty good start, I can see this grow. Production is on point, really dig the vocals and the guitar work, it's really gentle, worth revisiting actually. Definitely would like to see a project of some sort come out.

My current recording situation is pretty shit. Trying to save for a car so I dont have the money for a mic.
Met a guy outside my local party store while buying some beer. He heard me rapping and sold me a beat to use on CD. Told me if I ever need a recording studio to hit him up and gave me his number. Looked him up on sound cloud and he seems legit but a bunch of my friends are telling me it sounds really shady and I should cut contact.
What do you guys think?
Jack Rogers
>sold you a beat >gave u his soundcloud and number >has a recording studio sounds like a typical nigger to me as a wise man once told me "never trust a musically innate nigger"

im having fun making really bad music with clips of my friend learning japanese. enjoy.
I love how subdued this is and how even everything sounds; so many amateur artists are over-mixing their voices and I appreciate you not doing so; really nice flow to everything; great choices of samples as well.
Wonderful progression throughout; that underlying rhythm of the waves is captivating; I really don't have enough good things to say about this, it's an absolutely stellar composition. Great work.

hey there. i make rap music because im passionate about writing.
