If I know a male actor is gay I cannot take them seriously in a straight role. I just cannot accept seeing him portrayed as being in a relationship with a woman or being a dad or anything. It just ruins the movie for me.

I just can't take them serious as actors unless they play gay characters. This also applies only to obviously gay or outed actors. Ambiguity goes a long way in helping me suspend my disbelief.

I'm the complete opposite. It just doesn't make any sense for a straight man to be an actor.
