What compressor/sustainer is a good choice and how is it used to improve the sound?
Jose Moore
what are you getting one for if you dont even know how to use it?
Caleb Richardson
if you don't care about intricacies get a sp or diamond compressor
Thomas Campbell
For the sustain honestly, cant really see the difference with a compressor but i lose high notes when soloing too quickly
Sebastian Sullivan
This looks like a shitty dd20
Jason Peterson
What's it doings?
James Rodriguez
what adjustments do you need to make to put heavier gauge strings on a guitar?
from a 10 to 11, there can't be that much of a leap right?
Carter Lopez
You'll need to adjust the trussrod, if you don't do that you'll have more neck relief due to the higher tension of the strings and a higher action, which will also knock your intonation off. If you adjust the trussrod so your relief is the same as before then you won't have to adjust anything else.
Parker Johnson
Is this vintage Aria Pro 2 a good deal for 420 bucks? Do anybody know where these were made?
Ryder Cooper
you are full of shit just put the fucking strings on
from 10 to 11 there is no setup needed you dumbfuck
Jaxon Hughes
...
Oliver Wilson
it's more akin to an eventide timefactor
Asher Ward
"Changing the tension on my neck surely won't change anything else!" You're retarded. Or you seriously can't hear the difference between a well intonated guitar and a guitar where everything sounds off.
Charles Baker
eat a dick fag 10 gauge to 11 gauge is so insignificant it won't change anything
Charles Wood
I posted in gg a few days ago about this but I'll ask again. Are there any really cheap guitars/brands that are actually worth buying? I'm looking for a cheap one since my church (that I play bass for) is basically giving me a JCM 700+ 4x12 cab for free. I mainly want one just to mess with and eventually learn to play while I have a good amp
Andrew Bennett
You're literally wrong.
Jeremiah Wood
>my church
Brody Gonzalez
What is "really cheap"?
Michael Garcia
buy an older japanese guitar. they tend to be cheap
Jordan Allen
~$100. I'm talking pawn shop shit
Carter Clark
Get something used then. A used Yamaha with a hardtail bridge (for the love of god don't get a cheap guitar with a crappy vibrato system) or something along those lines.
Cooper Lewis
Can someone explain the reverence for Nels Cline as a guitarist?
If anyone was a virtuoso in making boring music it would be this dude.
Whats the deal?
Also, please explain the similar reverence for Bill Frisell. He's another dude that is just amazingly boring.
Christopher Walker
>implying anyone knows who the fuck any of these faggots are
Jimmy Hendrex Van Halen Jimmy Page Ingwe Malmstein
Matthew Perez
I'd like to hear him play that through a clean amp
James Richardson
no they're "progressive"
Landon Evans
Nice bait
John Green
...
Tyler Thomas
Bump
Wyatt Bennett
What does that mean?
Alexander Harris
Anybody wanna do a The Mars Volta tribute album with me?~ I need a drummer, vocalist, and guitarist
Kayden Reed
How do I decide if I should learn the acoustic guitar or an electric guitar first? I have basic experience playing a simple acoustic string instrument from my country.
Bentley Hughes
it means that prog and djent bands exclusively use them. any guitar can be used for any genre newfriend.
Alexander Adams
What's your guys' opinion on Alpher guitars and basses? I really like them and am debating getting a bass, but I want to see if anybody else has any experiences as well
Jaxon Cox
Open string chug spamming over ambient chords or Steve Vai worship, nothing else
Jordan Sanders
Ah, I saw them in Scotts video. You're probably better off asking on Talkbass honestly.
a note on it's own is just that, a single note but play two or more notes together? you've got a chord baby!
Adrian Baker
isnt it three or more notes together.......
Owen Ortiz
Majestic. Thank you for showing me the light.
Angel Taylor
technically its 2 or more but most often than not 3
Eli Scott
No, technically 2 notes is a dyad which can imply a chord
Alexander Fisher
if you want to be a cunt about it, 3 notes is a triad
Carson Bennett
How do you go about actually learning guitar? It's a stupid question but I've been playing for about 4-5 months pretty consistently after practicing on and off for years and all I do is just learn songs I like to play. I don't know when, if ever I'll get to the point where I can, with full confidence, tell someone I play guitar, as opposed to just practicing. Do I practice techniques? Work on speed? I have no clue how to better improve my skills
Connor Hughes
No takers? :(
Carter Lee
>single coils
Kys
Andrew Walker
learn to improvise (with the blues) learn chords learn basic theory work on your ears
Michael Robinson
>that pleasant empty feeling after taking a big poo Any licks or riffs that embody that feeling?
you shouldn't be looking for suggestions then, it's far better to search in your local stores for the el cheapo guitaro but something like a used squier would probably do
at my local flea market one guy was selling a squier strat for like 80 €
Samuel Roberts
I fucking hate people like this, and the music they like
Gotta give you props for being a good sport my simian friend
Justin Taylor
Slow it down, mostly. Experiment with less bend and more bend. Try syncing it to beats - quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, etc
Ayden James
sounds good alrairy brah
Zachary Powell
nothing really wrong with that vibrato, it's fast and shrill, but that can work sometimes but it depends on where you place it.
don't limit yourself to just having one type of vibrato and use the same one everywhere, most good players use different types of vibratos in different places, it completely depends on you and what you like to hear. might sound stupid to some, but i honestly think vibrato is the most personal part of playing guitar
Ayden Mitchell
I don't know what any of those mean except for work on chords
James Ross
are duo sonics still the hot guitar
Eli Kelly
>most good players use different types of vibratos in different places like ace frehley >might sound stupid to some, but i honestly think vibrato is the most personal part of playing guitar most won't find it stupid, actually theyll agree cause thats what they read around
Austin Nelson
is... is that the Guitar Center in Natick?
Noah Bailey
burt kobain is a better guitar player that frehley you pleb
Hunter Scott
is name was kurdt campaign you fucking idiot
Logan Lopez
Alright thanks, I got so obsessed with it a few months ago I try to do it as fast as possible and it comes off sloppy as fuck
Lucas Hall
fuck off courtney
Matthew Russell
no problem in doing it fast but practice doing it on consistent pitch/width and speed
Benjamin Sanchez
>that color >that config Gross
Connor Jenkins
How does Lindsey Buckingham get such an aggressive sound out if his guitar finger picking
Hudson Miller
>implying anyone knows or cares who that is
Wyatt James
Literal bait
Owen Martinez
im not even going to google who leonard bucketham is or whatever their name is because its probably some old dad rock bullshit anyway
