It's nothing but Ted bragging to his kids about how many chicks he fucked before meeting their mother.

It's pretty shit. Entertaining for the first 2-3 seasons and then the blatant and ridiculously artificial control the writers have over the storyline becomes pretty annoying.

the show was a pussyfart compared to OG sitcoms, and the humor was targeted to 16-20 year olds. i dont think many adults watched it, they humor is too low-brow.

I liked it, but I probably won't watch it all again.

Start the show at Season 2, Episode 9, the Slap Bet.

End the show with Season 8, and don't bother with the abortion of a last season (that Siegel quite obviously didn't want to be a part of)

Every character is horrible but it's easy to watch

Some of the problems in the early season made sense but yeah once it hit 5-6 the reasons and problems become ridiculous

Season 1-2 is the best the show has to offer, anything past that outside of Barney is total and utter shit

I used to be absorbed in this show during my sophomore year of high school, I thought that the jokes and the story line was tasteful. But that did not last long at all. I can't bear to watch an episode without cringing. (I once forced myself to watch the show because my crush recommended it. I still couldn't stand it even with the thought of him liking this show.)

Ted fucked Robyn while still in a relationship with Victoria. That's why Victoria tells him she can't be with him while he is still friends with Robyn. Seems reasonable given the fact that Ted not only was in a relationship with Robyn but cheated on Victoria to make that happen.

I actually like the show quite a bit. Sure it has it's problems but it's a fucking sitcom. As long as you recognize that it isn't intended to be anything other than that you will probably enjoy it more.

I don't know why I like the show so much. I think it's a testament to how good the other actors/writers are that a show with a lead actor as unlikable as Ted could be that good.

I disagree. The entire point of the show was that Ted was in love with Robin. That shit was basically non stop. Even when she was marrying Barney. The ending was perfect

They had too many episodes about it not working between them. There was even that stupid balloon episode in the last season where Ted "let's her go". I think that would have worked better if the show ended earlier.

I remember telling my friend that, if HIMYM would ever go beyond 8 seasons (I think the actors only had contracts for up until season 8), the last season would involve some shenanigans where Marshal is out in the ocean doing peacekeeper work or some environmental bullshit because Segel probably wouldn't be interested or be like "fuck that shit" and low and behold, I was kinda right. Half the season, if not more, is him away from the cast doing his own thing.

I fucking called it and my friend doesn't remember me saying that so I now begrudgingly mention it to anons online just to make myself feel better
