It's a short story where the memories of the protagonist's life are intertwined with the actual alien contact thingy.

Give it a try, I immensely liked it but at the same time got confused by the trailer since the story doesn't feature any bangs and booms.

The story isn't about aliens. It is a devastating and profound comment about motherhood.
